Of Winds and Worlds- Reedsycast

As the sun casts it’s bright light over the horizon, lighting up the world, all the magical beings in Soarville are waking up. Yes, my species are magic folk, and I am one of them. My name is Yue Shukufuku. I am the daughter of King Tobu, leader of the Sky and Everything On It. Our kingdom is a peaceful one, but lately, I have been getting reports of strange beings in the Ocean, where the Mermaids live. And after that happens, I get weird messages in my head.

One Earth girl, almost a chief.

Six fire spirits all linked together.

One Mermaid unlike her kind.

Add a smart nomad with fire in his spirit.

Then comes two sisters with different elements.

Plus a Sky Flyer who is your best friend.

And you can stop them, or the world will end.

Who is “them?” Why am I getting this message?

A voice cut through my monologue.

“Yue! Yue, come here!”

I swoop on over to my best friend, Andromeda. She’s studying the ground below us, where the fire spirits live.

“You called? What’s going on?”

Andromeda's normally cheerful face was filled with worry. She pointed to the ground below.

“I think the Fire spirits are in danger!”

Sure enough, water was pouring into the Lava Lakes, and extinguishing the fire.

Even though I had no idea why, my body immediately reacted and I flew in the air.

“We have to save it!”

Without questioning my bravery; or maybe stupidity, my best friend also glided into the air, and together we dived towards the ground. But when we neared the lava, I realized that we couldn’t do this. I slumped in defeat. But Andromeda jumped up and down happily.

“Yue! Look!”

A green figure with piercing eyes was sucking up all the water. I felt grateful. If father found out…

“Hello!”

I looked around; the figure was calling me. I glanced at Andromeda, and she nodded.

“Thank you for saving the Lava village! Who are you?”

“I’m Diane, the next chief of the Earth Folk. And you are?”

I did a double take. That was why she could stop all that water from destroying the village! She was a chief - in - training. 

One earth girl, almost a chief.

That’s her!

“I’m Yue, daughter of King Tobu.”

Diane raised her eyebrow. 

“You're a Sky Flyer! But what are ya doin’ here?”

Andromeda figitied nervously; I gulped.

“Um… I was being foolish and thought I could save this.” I gestured to the Lava Lakes.

“That was foolish, but I think you had good intentions.”

I nodded. Andromeda looked at Diane, then said:

“Diane, would you like to come with us to see if the Fire Spirits are okay?”

“Of course! Does this mean I’m your friend?”

She nodded.

“Yes!”

“Then let’s go!” I shouted.

In the village:

After Diane got burnt from the flames, Andromeda stayed with her to heal her. I went into the village.

“Oops!!” I slammed into a girl, who was fingering her sapphire ring and looking around.

“S-so sorry about that!” I said, helping her up.

“No,no it’s okay! I’m waiting for my sisters and brother to get here.”

I shot her a look.

“Who are they?”

Immediately, four girls and one boy shot out of nowhere.

The sapphire girl grinned.

“I’m Syvis, and this is Aria, Issac, Noelani, Ma’li, and Aderyn. We are all the protectors of this village.”

Six Fire Spirits, all linked together.

That’s them.

“So, who are you?” asked Ma’li

“I’m Yue, and I was here to check on this village. But you guys are far more interesting.”

“Why are we interesting? Have you been stalking us?” Sneered Aria.

“Aria, I’m pretty sure she’s not a stalker.” Noelani said softly.

“I agree. She didn’t even know our names!” Issac, the only boy, remarked.

Aderyn smiled.

“I guess we’ll find out. Yue, why are we interesting?”

Aria gave me a dirty look. I pressed on.

“Y-you guys are in the message! The message that they keep sending me!”

All of them looked like I had invited them to an underwater party.

“Are you alright? We haven’t heard the message. And who are they?” Issac question.

 “ I-i keep getting messages from- I don’t know, ancients? And I’m looking for these people- I think. And we can stop the world from ending.”

I recited the poem for them.

“That sounds interesting...I think I know who the ‘nomad’is.”

Whipping around, I summon the wind… only to find an unamused boy, with glasses on and a load of books in his hands. 

“Seriously, am I that big of a theart?” The nomad picked up his fallen books, only to be knocked down again.

“OBBELUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!”

they separate, Obelus looks me up and down.

“Ah..So you are the daughter of King Nobu, correct?”

“Uh, yeah.”

“I knew it. You looked familiar. I read about you.”

He turned around to chat with the 6 fire spirits. Apparently they 're all friends.

I looked at all of them, figuring out a plan. I needed them to trust me- but how? I would have to come back to this.Laughing, the Fire Spirits enfold him in a huge group hug. When 

“Where can I find you guys? I’ll...I’ll come back.”

“Oh. Just next to the tent with piles of books.”

As I turned, I heard Aria screech “SEE? SHE IS A STALKER!”

Back outside:

“Diane? Andromeda? You guys need to come with me.”

They immediately nodded and I summoned a wisp of wind to carry us into the Ocean. As I prepared to walk in, a voice said 

 “WAIT!!!”

And I crashed head first into the water.

“Are you okay?”

“Ugh..What planet am I on?”

“Um… Well, sorry about that. I can’t control my powers yet. Add that to the fact that I can turn into a human, and you have got a pretty weird mermaid.”

I looked up, into the eyes of the girl.

One mermaid different from her kind.

“Then you are..?”

“Flidaerae of the Ocean.”
