Authors Note: Hello everyone!! Today I will be writing an alien marketplace story that will be featuring the planet Mars. This will be a science-fiction/adventure story! I hope you enjoy reading it!

Long long ago, Mars had water, running across the entire planet. During those times, there used to live an ancient civilization named the Gunmars. They were the richest and wealthiest civilizations of all. Their crops would get a surplus all the time. They used to thrive. Gunmarians were excellent at trading. They were also talented farmers, artists, and designers. They could grow any food there, even with Mars's unique atmosphere. No one knew how the Gunmarians did it. They would never share their secret. The Gunmars built a trade route in which all the other Alien civilizations on Mars could travel, communicate, and most importantly: trade. This was good for the Gunmars because everyone would come to them for food, or any other daily life supplies or households. Gunmar people were very talented and hard-working. They would spend all day and all night coming up with new inventions and tools to make their trading and production go much smoother and easier. 

Once a year, kings and queens from different kingdoms would come to Gunamr to see if what the aliens say is really true. On that day, the Gunmars would ready their shops so that when the king and queen would arrive, they would get a tour of the entire market place. The Gunmars would put food, clothes, artifacts such as pottery, paintings and paint tools, weapons, and lastly their inventions. The king and queen would choose one of the Gunamrians to show around the place, and give them a tour of the market place. Whoever they chose would get some kind of benefit or reward. 

"ALL HAIL KING CRYPTO AND QUEEN AKI!!!" yelled the soldiers. 

As the soldiers yelled, so did the Gunmarians. They formed two lines so that the king and queen could see all their shops. 

"I see. Interesting. So, all these shops are everything you all made, yes?" asked queen Aki.

"Y..yes, my queen." replied one of the Gunmarians from the crowd.

"Ah... good. Young alien, I see. Would you like to do the honors and show us a tour around this market place?" asked king Crypto.

"Why of course my lord! My name is Oko, and I am only a mere merchant in training. But, I will tell you all I know about each of our shops." replied Oko.

"I see, Oko. Now if you do a good job of showing the tour of your hometown marketplace, then we will announce you as the best merchant on all of Mars. Is that a deal?" asked queen Aki.

"Of...of course my queen! Th..thank you! So, this means that I won't be known as a merchant in training?" asked Oko, looking curiously at the king and queen. 

"No. Now instead of just talking, I say that we get started with the tour! What do you say Oko?" asked king Crypto.

"I say we shall start the tour, my royal king. But, which shop would you like to go to first?" asked Oko.

"Well... it depends Oko, for which shop do you make the most trade and surplus?" asked queen Aki.

"Us Gunmarians make a lot of food and get a lot of surplus from it. I say we shall head to the food market right now! I also have a new invention in there that I would love to show to you, your highness." replied Oko.

"Great! I say we shall go to the food market then!" exclaimed king Crypto.

Soon, king Crypto and queen Aki reached the food market.

"Here we are! So in our food market, we have many varieties of food options to choose from! Spicy, sweet, sour, any you want! We also have our newest and latest invention which has been found very useful from our lovely customers themselves. Here is a weight machine. What you do is simply take the food you wish to buy, and put it on this machine. Then, it will accurately calculate the weight of the food item! It would be a pleasure, my king and queen if you would try to do it yourself." explained Oko.

The king and queen did seem very interested in Oko's words about their newest weight machine and decided to try it for themselves. 

"So, Oko, all we do is pick up the food, and put it on this weight machine? Then just weight for a calculation to come up?" asked king Crypto.

"Yes, my royal king," replied Oko.

Oko was beaming with excitement. His dark blue skin now suddenly turned into a lighter blue. His four eyes started to grow wide. Oko really hoped that the king and queen would like the Gunmarians new weight machine. 

"Oh my Oko! We are absolutely stunned by this genius invention! How did you all ever come up with something so smart?" asked queen Aki in surprise.

"Well... I am so sorry my king and queen, but us Gunmarians cannot tell the secret. Even though I really want to share with you our specialty, when the Gunmarians learn that I told the secret, they will ask me to get out of Gunmar and never come back again. I hope you understand." responded Oko, sounding a bit disappointed in himself.

"I am sure that neither I nor the king would ever want you to leave your hometown. It is fine Oko, we understand. But whatever it is, you Gunmarians should be very proud of everything you accomplish and do for the other civilizations. I can tell from the clothing market place that you have a wide range of selections to choose from, don't you! I say that is where we should go next." replied queen Aki.

"Of course your majesty, anything you want," replied Oko.

Saying that Oko, the king, and the queen left to go to the clothing store.

After Oko showed the king and queen the entire market place, the king and queen left with amazement on their faces. The Gunmar civilization according to their words, was technologically advanced. Oko also was known as one of the best merchants on Mars. That market place tour was one big success.
