Fantasy

Susan is trapped and didn’t have a clue about what to do. In front of her is a villain that towered over her, with an evil looking expression on his scruffy face. His jet black hair is stiffened into spikes so he looked like a porcupine, and his face pierced in numerous locations with studs. He wore dark coveralls and what looked like metal gloves that went up to his elbows. He wore jet-powered boots, which explained why he suddenly appeared in front of her. Currently, the gloves were glowing a dull red color as he reached out to her.

“Time to come with me, missy,” he said with a menacing voice. “I need some money and your pops have plenty of it.”

There were days Susan wished she didn’t come from a rich family, and this is one of those days.

“Help!” she screamed out.

She looked around and saw a few people walking, but none of them came to the rescue. They either continued on their way without a glance or they glanced and quickly continued on their way.

“What is wrong with people nowadays?” she asked herself.

“No one is going to rescue you,” the villain spoke. “Just let me give you a nice handshake, take a nice nap, and come to my hideout for a while. If your daddy loves you a lot you will be home soon. Kapeesh?”

“Help!” she screamed louder as her hope dwindled.

The villain was a foot away from touching her with his glowing glove when a deep, powerful voice called out, “Stop!”

Susan looked up at the sky and saw a well-built man in a bright blue suit, short brown hair, chiseled chin, and mesmerizing, piercing blue eyes, come zooming in to land a few feet behind the villain.

“Don’t you think about hurting this young, beautiful woman,” the dashing man commanded.

The villain had turned around upon the sound of the superhero's voice, more annoyed than any sign of fright, to see a strong man in a silly, tight suit.

“I’ve never seen you before, superhero,” he said with a sneer. “What do you call yourself?  Speedo?  Captain Hero?”

“It’s no concern of yours,” the superhero responded with his fists on his hips. “You will leave her alone and come with me to face justice.”

The villain let out a hideous laugh, similar to a hyena. “I won’t be going anywhere with you.”

“Please move to a safe distance,” the superhero said to Susan, as the villain’s gloves changed from red to a dark blue color. “It looks like I will have to fight this cretin.”

“What did you call me?!” the villain spouted out, obviously offended, and taking a few steps toward the superhero.

“Stop!” the superhero cried out, the villain and Susan seeing a moment of fear in his voice.

“Do you cower before we even start?” the villain asked in a taunting tone.

“No such thing, but I need to do one thing before we commence with the hostilities,” the superhero spoke.

“What is…?”

Before he could finish, the superhero shot up his arm and a jet of peer white smoke shot out from a spout that was attached to his arm, quickly enveloping the villain. The villain cried out as he disappeared from view but quickly reappeared as the smoke dissipated. The villain stood there, completely covered in a white substance. At first, Susan thought he might be frozen, but was quickly proven wrong.

“What the hell?” the villain asked as he looked at himself. “What did you do?”

“I made sure you were germ-free before we have our hand-to-hand combat,” the superhero replied.

“Huh?” the baffled villain said as he looked at the superhero.

Then he looked at his gloves and saw they were no longer glowing.

“You short-circuited my gloves!” the villain cried out, leaping toward the superhero and started swinging repeatedly.

The superhero used his arms to block blow after blow, but one mighty swing from the infuriated villain tore off the golden glove that the superhero wore on his left hand.

“Oh no!” the superhero cried out, taking a couple of steps back.

“What is wrong this time?” the villain asked, seeing the worried look on the superhero’s face. He thought that this particular superhero acted very strangely.

The villain started striking at him repeatedly, which the superhero blocked repeatedly with his right arm while his left hung limply by his side.

“Maybe I broke it?” the villain thought. “I didn’t hit it that hard, but now is my chance to take him out.”

The villain continued to swing and one of his blows made contact, striking the superhero’s chin.

“Aargh!” the superhero cried out, staggering back.

The villain figured he had him now, but when the superhero gave him a glare he knew he was in trouble.

Seconds later, the superhero was striking repeatedly at him with his right hand, but it was with his left that he struck the villain on the chin. Both of them cried out as the villain flew back, landing on his back.

“Must take care,” the superhero said, taking out a little bottle, squirting out some liquid, and rubbing his chin and left hand repeatedly.

“The villain is getting away!” Susan called out.

The superhero watched the villain blast off into the air.

“I’ll get him,” the superhero said as he continued to scrub. “Might not be today, but he will get his due.”

He then walked over to Susan, after a couple of minutes of cleaning.

“Are you okay?” he asked with concern.

“Yes,” she replied, thinking this superhero was different from the others.

“Good,” he said, showing off his pearly whites. “Take care, citizen.”

He flew off and Susan started walking home.

“Ma’am,” a voice said moments later, behind her.

She turned around, seeing the superhero.

“Are you sure you are okay?” he asked.

“I’m fine.”

“Fantastic!” and flew off once again.

“Strange,” she said as she hurried home to tell all of her interesting experience.

This was very pleasant! I like the idea of the germaphobic hero, due to the COVID problem we have! Awesome! Score: 4.7 out of 5 PS. Could you read any of my stories and give your feedback on them? Thanks!

I enjoyed this! Clearly inspired by current events and I like the connection to well known heroes. There are quite a few tense mistakes so if you want me to proof read for you in the future, just drop me a comment on one of my stories and I’d be happy to help you sort any grammar mistakes. This is a fun premise and even though the villain wasn’t caught, he wasn’t able to complete his dastardly mission so I’d say it was a win for the germaphobic hero!

Thank you for the comments, and if you have the time feel free to give me advice on the grammar. There is a spelling check on Word, then go to grammarly, then read back over it. Still not perfect.

Yeah, the websites aren’t perfect. Let me know when you’ve got your next one up and I’ll give it a look over for editing!

This germaphobic superhero made me laugh! His resemblance to Superman created an expectation for his behavior that made it all the more surprising when he was peculiar. Your idea was hilariously integrated with the fight and rescue.
