“Let’s go mommy! I wanna go Tweet or Tweet aweady! Let’s go!” Olly said, nudging our napping mom with his chubby hands. “Oh gosh. It’s not time yet. Shhh. Please talk a little softer, your sister is sleeping.” “But I wanna go now! NOW!” he threw himself on the floor and started to pout. “Liam, can you please take your brother out for a second? Ava needs some rest. She didn’t sleep at all last night.” “‘Kay, but I have to come back around lunch. Charlotte and I are gonna make some goody bags and get the community...

Grammy wrapped herself into her black shawl and walked inside the Blue Tower. I’ve never been inside, but from stories I’ve heard from my mother, who had passed away 3 years ago, it was a place where other descendants from the Gizem and Liraz meet to work on their latest project, a life bringing dust to bring back the dead. The Blue Tower’s a mystery to me, with my grandma going in as a little old lady, to coming back like a bat, spreading her wings wide and proud. Gram sat on the edge of my coffin-like bed. “Lil’ Liy, what story woul...

“Will you give him a second chance to become a loving father?” “No I will not.” ……………… “Welcome to tonight’s show of Second Chances. Please take your seat, and the show will begin!” I sat down with dry cereal in my lap, ready for the first episode of “Second Chances”. Social Media has been advertising it for a few months now, making everyone hyped for the show. It was supposed to be a show where people talk about their problems, try to solve them, and hug it out. I think it’s going to be good, the ads have given us little clips, and from my...
I swept Anna off of her feet the night of prom. This was going to be the last time I did this. I was moving, yet I have not told her. I wasn’t planning to. I don’t know how she would react, so I wasn’t taking any chances. I was going to enjoy this last night. Anna and I had been going out for a year now, and she was the best girl anyone could ever wish for. Her long, wavy curls, cute personality, beautiful choice of clothes, she was smart and funny, and her beauty. She was stunning. I would never want to leave her, but due to my dad’s...

“So this is where we stay? I asked the director of the lockdown. “This is where you stay, but the counselors and I will have our own shelter.” I rolled my eyes. I didn’t want to come, but my mom bribed me with the new Motorola Razr I had wanted. I guess she needed some alone time. Her and her new boyfriend. Mom had just recently got a new babe, and he’s a pretty nice guy. Way better than my biological dad. He might always agree with my mom, but he’s funny and if he really thinks I’m right, he’ll sometimes be on my side. That doesn’t happen o...
Let’s see…...Adam is in my class, but where’s Cresh? I thought we all signed up for the same things. Design, math, and computer science. I looked through the rest of the list. Cresh was nowhere to be seen. I frowned. Had he moved without telling me? If so, where did he go? Me, Adam, and Cresh had been the best of friends since kindergarten, and I couldn’t go to college without one of them. We had promised each other to take classes with each one of our favorite subjects, so without him, the friendship triangle just couldn’t be completed.&nbs...
My popsicle melted in the hot sun. I didn’t care. I had better things to worry about. It’s time for operation T. Just one word: Taiwan. What do you want for Christmas? A trip to Taiwan. They rolled their eyes. Fine. Let them be. It’s your birthday! Name anything! The pleasure is all yours! Where’s my flight ticket? They walked away. Okay, guess I won’t be receiving much this year. Or the year after. Why? Because every day my mom calls her family in Taiwan, and they’re always talking about what they did, what they were going to do now, and all...

I missed Mr. Bonham more than anything. Why had I not saved him? He had tried to save me…….And he died doing so. I walked into the woods the day after his funeral, my backpack bouncing on and off my legs. The empty passageway was dark, just like how I feel right now. Dark and empty. I kept on walking, thinking of ways I could’ve saved him, possibly make him live a little longer. I hated myself. I killed my magic teacher. Now I didn’t have a teacher, and I lost my only friend. Remember the empty walkway? Well, it wasn’t empty anymore....
“Do I really have to?” I asked the director of the spacecraft. “Every year, people are sent. You are lucky to be sent in your twenties, some go at the age of twelve. And we still need more space samples. ” “So it’s a yes?” I questioned, hoping I was wrong. “There’s no doubt.” He replied rather sternly, “Here, try on the spacesuit. Your training starts tomorrow.” “How lucky.” I murmured as I exited the lab. “Excuse me?” “Nothing.” Back at home, I collapsed on the sofa. I didn’t hate outer-space, but what they didn’t know was I was not the mos...
For four days straight, Calli had not stopped by the bathtub to feed her alligator, who she called Fox. She thought he was too fat and decided to put him on a diet for her wedding two weeks away. How dumb. Grien looked at himself in the mirror. I should get some six packs, he thought. He had not agreed to marry Calli because he loved her, but because he had a major crush on her STEPMOTHER! Calli’s stepmom was a hottie, having all the awesome features a guy wants. The only thing they don’t know is she has a HUGE mole on her butt. That’s conf...
“Dad! What’s for breakfast?” I asked, wheeling myself towards the table. “Your favorite, banana-blueberry pancakes!” he replied with a grin. “I don’t know if it’s my favorite until I try it!” I said, taking a big bite of pancakes. Oh. Big mistake. The batter was stale, leaving me with an aftertaste of eggs. As if that wasn’t enough, The blueberries were sour and the bananas tasted like goo. I chewed carefully, trying not to get any in my taste buds, while trying to keep a straight face. Choking down the last chunks of not so pancake-y...
Uh oh. The snowstorm comes closer to the supermarket. “Should I leave?” I thought to myself. Everyone’s leaving. I decide to stay for a while. The weather outside was severe, so going outside could be a big risk. Now the storm was just meters away. I made a quick but important decision. I ran for the door. Steps away, I could feel the cold. I wrapped my coat tighter around me, and put on my earmuffs. I may never make it. With my mittened hands, I tried to open the door. It didn’t budge, not an inch. I pulled harder. It was no use. I wa...

I refuse to go anywhere near anyone, I don’t need them to hurt me again. I miss my mom. She was the only person that understood me, the only person that even cared. Mom was the only human that made me feel better being an Axile, but now she’s gone too. An Axile can control people’s thoughts and movements, so I guess that’s why flying-freaks Atsoises are after me. They say I’m the last generation left, and that they were going to teach me how to use my power correctly. I was caught once, when I was five years old, and they were nothing they ...
The Wisconsin and Jackson real, but the events were made up. I hope you enjoy it anyway. :) I looked around a deserted village, my eyes falling on our family’s farm. I used to love farm animals, horses especially. I looked at the broken trampoline. “About time it broke,” I thought. It had held many memories, but now, it seemed like it was all……..gone. Everything was gone. There was no sign of life in this deserted place. Without a sign of anything, there was no sign of hope. I looked around again, thinking of all the fun ti...
