Both sides of the road shimmered like a water color dreamscape, painted with the rays of the dizzying sunlight. They heard that this was the quickest way to get to where they were going. But time felt like a commercial with its run time padded to make a feature length film out of it. Their A.C. smelt like burnt plastic and the breath of the exhausted air coming out of it, as well as the, warm wind from the rolled down windows, did very little to elevate their situation. Jeremy's throat was like crispy bacon, he had gone without water, long...

You thought he was dead, but there he is, right in front of you on the street, smiling at you. You wonder if he was ever dead to begin with. It was a closed casket after all. He removed his bulletproof vest, it hit the ground, like a satchel of gold bars, it was smoking, from the bullet holes. He never wore his vest. Yet, he wore it to the supermarket, of all places. You have so many question, which you could tell would go unanswered, as he raised his gun towards you. Lightning cracked like a mirror as thunder followed with the rumble of ...

He was approached by a massive grizzly bear, with a removable jar for a head. He could vaguely see a brain within it, encapsulated with a green translucent liquid, which kept the brain, buoyant in the center of the jar; almost like magic. Less visible was the seemingly chaotic connective miscellanea that attached its eyes and ears to brain. Which were protected and amplified. The jar itself could rotate 360 degrees, making it very hard to sneak up on it. There had been a mistake, his target was not, this monstrosity that stood before him. ...

The wings flapped, as he rowed with his streamlined muscles. Identical in efficiency to his light weight personal wings structure he was wearing. There were only three left in pursuit. The status of the fourth pursuer was of no consequence. He was not even a slight bit concerned. If they had wanted him dead. This whole thing would already be over, and he would be having tea with the gods. They were now in between a, buoyant, kinetic carrier, and a steam juggernaut. The kinetic ship had fired off all its ornithopters, and was now positionin...

She entered the coffeehouse, she made her way through the sparsely populated cafe to her regular table. She didn't notice a single new face. Its not like she new every patron. She was just good at recognizing faces, and cataloging them. She had seen her fair share of faces to know you can judge a book buy its cover. “the usual?” the barista asked while preparing her coffee “knock it up a notch will ya” she said “you do know we-” their eyes met “fuck, okay so it was a stupid question” he said a little flustered. “here, knocked the fuck up” he...

They were fed up. This was the second fight this week. Though there were more injuries as opposed to casualties this time. Collateral damage would never be forgivable. At least not in this town. This time it was one of them who lost someone close to them. He had been sitting in an unlocked cell looking into the void of spent emotion for awhile now. There would be no point in locking the door even if they new why he was there to begin with. They had seen him rip a car apart with his own bare hands. He was an Adonis, those who were not out...

As you check your mail, you notice a letter that makes you stop in your tracks. It is black with ornate gold corners as well as its’ edges. The lettering is raised silver in a language you had thought you would never see again. you did not even need to open it. You knew what it said. After all you wrote it years into the future when you were in the early experimentation of what many of you call, the down fall of all realities, time displacement and teleportation. You enter your house without a thought, almost drifting with purpose towards ...

It had been a long time since Claire was in the company of other writers. Let alone write something in the first place. Claire had a thin but a strong frame, uncharacteristic for her life style. Her eyes were a bright, clear monochrome blue; you could see her emotions like a moonlit sea crashing against the shore, in her eyes. She always wore, tinted glasses, to mask her emotions. Claire was met at the door by Jessica, who looked her up and down without any judgment. With such ease Jessica removed Claire glasses to get a better look. Clair...

Their army was approaching the hub of a farming community. It was on the outskirts of one of the larger villages. On their way to defend against an undisciplined, chaotic, army of all manner of goblinoids. They would have a semblance of a proper battle, and all that it entails, which was promised by the commanders of the enemy army. The generals chuckled to themselves each time they thought about the goblin promises. Most of the farmers they past paid them no mind, some looked up to see them, but never for very long, going back to their work ...

Little droplets bounced off, scattering into the air, tossed from the foot falls of her seasoned leather boots. Rain waterslided down her burlap trench coat, clustering around [in] the folds then dripping off, like a slow motion bombing raid. The wind blustered her hat off her head, but she tried to catch it, like a drunk dog after a bone, nearly tripping over her own feet. She was unable to catch it as it took wing and spiralled towards her steadily approaching shadow. Her quickly matting hair trailed behind her, shoulder length in a variet...

As the cars tires burned literal rubber, it tossed up enough dirt to make the sandiest desert envious of the spectacle. Visibility was almost nil, but Jacky was unconcerned. She knew these trails like a cherished memory, one of her and her father driving down these very same trails in a similar fashion, to be exact. Bringing her children here was like a reopening a chapter in her life and the close of another.“Slowdown your scaring the kids” Richard panicked“No Rick.” Jenny chuckled.“She's scaring you.”“Well i'm sure Joel is terrified.”With ...

The drop ship dropped them off just outside the jungle. It was impossible to get any satellite footage from the jungle, something to do with its’ biochemistry. But they could see that a few rivers and creeks crossed through it quite close to their destination which was a tower to east of the jungle. The area was no mans’ land. There was no claim to it. It was fought over but never claimed. It looked to be like earths environment but Baker wasn't taking any chances and kept his helmet on. His companion [blank] on the other hand took his off, ...
