A strangled cry emerged from my throat as the knife made its mark on Ethan’s head. He fell to the ground, blood spraying from his wound as I struggled against the ice. Hot tears dripped down my cheek, suddenly wishing I was strong enough to break out of the ice…

Then I remembered, I was an All-Beast. Couldn’t they change any body part into any animal? Doesn’t that also mean I had elemental powers…

I concentrated on the ice engulfing my body, the frigid structure slowly melting. It dripped down my arms and I freed myself enough to wriggle my way out of the ice. I grabbed one of my daggers and flung it at Scarlett, grazing her cheek. She stared at me in disbelief, then sudden realization dawned on her face. She looked at the melted ice at my feet, now stained red with Ethan’s blood. I glanced at him and noticed that he was breathing, still alive. A look of hatred shined on Scarlett’s face as I lunged at her, raising my hands and engulfing her in water. She created an icy bubble around her. The bubble melted and formed into a dozen large spikes, and she shot them straight at me. I stepped in front of Ethan to ensure he wouldn’t get hit, and stopped the ice right in front of me. Realizing I have the other elemental powers at my fingertips, I glanced at the rock formation behind me, concentrating as large boulders floated behind me. I thrusted them towards Scarlett, a look of horror emitted on her face as the boulders slammed into her shoulder. She fell to her knees, grasping her wounded shoulder, her platinum blonde hair streaked with blood. She sneered as she raised her hand, forming a little bubble of water above it. She molded it into a harpy eagle and a spider. The spider grew bigger and bigger in her hand, overwhelming the little harpy eagle. I didn’t hesitate to plunge the knife into her chest before she finished her icy animation. I immediately ran towards Ethan, a scary pool of blood forming underneath him. I lifted his head off the ground, and he smiled at me, his green eyes flecked with gold.

“Are you okay?” I asked, trying not to look at his wound. 

“Yeah,” he said. “It’s not too deep.” He ripped off a piece of his shirt and pressed it against his forehead, and the bleeding soon stopped. Taking a closer look, it wasn’t that deep- the dagger had simply grazed his head. 

He took my hand and lifted it to his lips. “Go on, I’ll be fine. It’s not safe for you to be out here.”

“It’s not safe for you either,” I said, lifting him off of the ground. I draped his arm over my shoulder and carried him into a large, hidden cave, where Zoe, Felicity, and the other healers were hard at work.

Zoe rushed over and helped me place Ethan on the ground next to several other injured people. 

“Knife to the head,” I told Zoe.

“And a stab wound on the leg,” Ethan said.

I gaped at him in disbelief. “A stab wound? And you still came to help me?”

He shrugged. “It’s not that bad. Now go, they need you.” He nodded his head towards the cave entrance. I turned to leave, then hesitated. “Where’s Celeste?” I asked. “Isn’t she a healer too?”

“She’s out there with Palak, grabbing the wounded,” said Zoe, applying bandages to Ethan, after brushing a white feather across his wounds. 

“But, knowing Celeste…” interrupted Felicity, cleaning blood off her hands.

Zoe nodded. “She’s probably going after Draco. She might try to win her brother back, but…”

I nodded and left the cave, searching the field for Celeste’s bright colored wings. I saw a flash of yellow to my right, and I took off, flapping my wings as fast as possible. Celeste had just come into view, and I watched in horror as a boy with red hair, fangs, and cobra neck flaps sliced the wings off Celeste’s body.

Celeste laid on the ground, her limp wings fading of color, blood dripping from her wingless back. I reached for a smoke bomb, then thought better of it since snakes can sense heat. The boy, assumingly Draco, noticed me, and fear instantly showed on his face. That’s right, snakes' greatest fear is large birds. I thrust forward, just noticing a limp and lifeless Palak laying in the ground, two small holes on her shoulder. I opened my talons towards Draco, but in an instant, his scales shifted and blended into the background. I landed, frantically searching at all sides for Draco. 

“Harper…” whimpered Celeste, holding Palak in her arms, eyes flashing multiple shades of colors. 

A sudden vibration came from my right, and I threw my dagger in that direction. Blood sprayed from Draco’s leg, his body finally coming into view. I grabbed some rope and wrapped it around Draco’s wrists and ankles, knowing Celeste would prefer for me to keep him alive. He hissed at me, his fangs dripping with poison.

I noticed Luke and Varsha fighting a wolf on the other side of the battlefield, and raised my wings to help them.

“Take Palak to Zoe and Felicity!” I shouted, flying through the bloodied battlefield. A grey wolf with a large scar over her blind eye slashed at Varsha, who was trying to calm her down.

“Treasure, please!” pleaded Varsha, dodging her sister’s attacks. “Come back to us!”

“You know I can’t!” shouted Treasure, her deep blue eyes glistening with tears. 

“Yes you can!” shouted Luke, using the hilt of his sword to fend off Treasure. 

A black blur lunged towards Varsha, knocking her to the ground. Her silky black hair was stained with blood, her black panther tail twitching with anticipation.

“I got your back Treasure!” shouted the girl.

Luke lunged at her, and the girl slashed at him, leaving 3 fresh claw marks on his face. He fell to the ground, startled by the sudden attack.

“Nainika, no!” shouted Treasure.

Nainika looked at Treasure in disbelief. “This is your chance! You get Luke, I’ll get Varsha.”

“Luke!” shrieked Varsha, struggling against Nainika’s strength. “Help!”

Treasure lunged forward, tossing herself against Nainika, freeing Varsha from her clutches.

“Treasure, what are you doing?!” shouted Nainika.

“I… I can’t do it, Nainika!” choked out Treasure, shifting her weight to make up for the lack of a hind leg.

“You are Azazel’s most trusted warrior! You never hesitated! Why do you hesitate now? Because they’re your siblings?”

“Yes!” shouted Treasure. “I can’t do it, Nainika! I just can’t!

Nainika growled, her bright green eyes glistening in the sunlight. “Then I’ll do it myself.” She lunged towards Varsha, claws outstretched, opening her mouth for the final kill. Treasure thrusted herself in front of Varsha as Nainika’s claws sunk into her flesh, and Luke’s screams echoed in the air as Treasure’s blood stained the grass.
