Push Through the Hard

Inspirational

This is for all those people who feel like they can't do it anymore, me included <333

They never know the hidden side

You put on a smile, they think you're alright

You tell 'em your fine, doing just plain ol’ fine,

But they never know what's forcing that line.

It could be your feelings, your emotions running wild.

But you know better, you’re no innocent child.

It could be that thing that's bugging you,

That thing that made you escape the zoo.

You never did want to, but you still did,

You escaped your crazy emotions that made you a kid.

Why do you push it down?

What good is it, letting your feelings boss you around?

Why won't you tell anyone that thing,

The thing that's forcing you to hide your zing?

Is it will power, or sheer guilt,

Is it you that tore that quilt?

'But whatever it is, push it down and just keep going.

Just keep on doing whatever you're doing'....

That's what they say, but I don't think that way…

That’s why I’m different, that’s why I’m a stray.

I'm harder than that, a softee at first,

But when you get to know me, the truth often hurts.

When I show my true colors, most act surprised,

But when you think about it, the truth is often despised.

When they ask you your problems, you say lonely,

But when they say ‘sorry’, you get more stony.

They try to help, really they do,

But they don’t really know what’s bugging you.

They say, “You’re a queen, you got this, keep going”,

But they don’t know the pain, the struggle, the worry.

They don’t know your life, they don’t know the facts,

They try to make you better, try to make some impacts.

They send you hearts, hugs, and love,

But too bad they can’t send a miracle dove.

The pain cuts deep, and often it’s too much to bear alone…

But I’m ‘Lone Wolf, I’m used to this pain, I can take it, I can fight, I can make it alone.

Sometimes, that’s all you want to be, but others gotta respect that,

If they don’t, just pull down your hat.

Make yourself invisible, it’s not all that difficult,

You just gotta know that there is hope, this isn’t all there is, I can’t find any rhyme with cult.

Even when you feel alone, like you just wanna curl up and cry,

You need to be a bird, open your wings, take to the skies.

Good people are here for you and will help you,

All you gotta do is ask and be you.

Even a person as lonely as me

Still appreciates certain hospitality.

No one is ever really an outcast,

We just gotta learn to give up our past.

People can change, and change is great,

It will move nations forward, spread love instead of hate.

So be the change you want to see in the world,

Because if not you, who will make this a dreamworld?

I’m beginning to lose my rhyming rhythm,

So the rest might as well be mayhem.

But I do want to say a few more things,

So sorry, but you’ll need the patience of kings.

I know you all have heard this without a doubt,

But might as well say it again, sorry, I might need to shout.

‘The loneliest people are the kindest,

The saddest people smile the most brightest,

The most damaged people are the wisest,

All because they wish to not see people suffer like they doest.’

It’s truer than true, it’s how we all feel,

At one point or another, I thought we were good as steel,

But sometimes, it takes the meek to lead the strong,

It takes the servant to be the leader, and sometimes, it may seem wrong.

Do the right thing, even when no one’s watching,

This is integrity, a great skill to have, it’ll keep you busy, from doing nothing.

Patience, another great virtue, it’ll make you wait and be slow,

And also it will make you want to say ‘whoa’.

Bring out the animal in you, be wild, be crazy, get a clue,

Be the wolf or cow or squid you always wanted to be, ‘just be you’ ,

So they all say...but really, show your colors, even if the hues aren’t great,

Gray, black, brown, they all have their own time to shine, and set things straight.

As I’ve said before, this is all falling apart,

It was never a story, poem, or work of art…

It’s not my best work, even this I’ll admit...

This is kinda crappy, and that takes some grit.

But, I hope my message is clearer than glass,

You don’t have to get all A’s in your class,

You just gotta do you, and let God handle the rest,

Really, you got this, just push through and do your best.

You don't have to go through anything alone, ever. There are people out there to help, you just gotta suck it up and ask. If you're ever down or going through something hard, just give me a call <333 There are others who have gone through the same thing, in a different way. I mean, who isn't lonely ever? I know I'm lonely tons, but you just gotta remember, there are others who are feeling the same way.

Thanks for reading, hope this helped :)

It felt like every single... couplet (wow, 9th grade english! You finally matter!) group/ whatever tf it's called was a different character. You probably wouldn't know the song (and I can't find the correct version) but every verse had a different vibe and new character. I think I like this character, lol. I'm harder than that, a softee at first, But when you get to know me, the truth often hurts. When I show my true colors, most act surprised, But when you think about it, the truth is often despised. Did I just give you way more cre...

This was beautiful and inspiring. Thanks for writing this. You have a talent with poetry! Here's some rhymes for "cult" since you said you couldn't find one: Adult, result, insult, consult. Loved this! Great job :D

This was a beautiful poem! Ot had such a inspirational message and it made my day! :) Feedback time! Time to be picky >;D I liked the rhyming in the poem, but at some moments it felt a little forced. Next time when you write something that's supposed to rhyme, and you can't find one that feels natural, scrap the line you're trying to rhyme with. Try to find one that makes the rhyming feel less forced : I also noticed that there are some missplaced " ' " (I forgot the name xd). Just double check for those :) Overall, great job!

Babe, you need to write a diss track. I assure it will be awesome. By the way loved the whole poem. You outpoured the emotions to the finest. You are not alone I am with you. You are strong and you will fight and emerge out like a phoenix from ashes. Great work.

wow this was beautiful I honestly really needed this the poetry throughout all of it flowed and the rhymes felt natural and werent forced. This was also a really great use of the prompt. You definitely portrayed the different perspectives of wanting to help but not knowing how, and others wanting to help but not understanding. Thank you for writing this Tiff, and I'm always here if you want to talk, or rant about tortoises;) beautiful work

I loved this Tiffany! It touched me in many different ways. It’s nice to know that I have a friend I can talk to when I’m feeling down. :) (You can really bust out some rhymes!)

You say this is "kinda crappy," but I strongly disagree. This is a spectacular message, and you communicated it so well. Some stanzas I loved were: "I'm harder than that, a softee at first, / But when you get to know me, the truth often hurts. / When I show my true colors, most act surprised, / But when you think about it, the truth is often despised." And: "People can change, and change is great, / It will move nations forward, spread love instead of hate. / So be the change you want to see in the world, / Because if not you, who will make ...
