Adventure Drama Thriller

They said I wouldn’t get anywhere. They said I wouldn’t be worth anything. Look at me now they need me more than anything in the world!!!

“Ha, Ha, Ha, you puny people! Unless you get me to touch you with my beautiful wings you won’t last more than a week!” said Geronimo, the magnificent butterfly

I’m getting ahead of myself though. It all started about a month ago when things started going downhill in Cucono. At first, everything was bright and beautiful. People were always happy saying hi to one another and welcoming them with open arms, but now nothing. They walk around like it’s the end of times.

I was at the doctor and saw a woman running out of the office crying. I was so confused on what the doctor could have told her that was so devastating that she was so sad. Did she have a disease? Did she have cancer? Did she have a tumor? Was she pregnant and not want to be? Did she lose her baby? All the thoughts were roaming around in my head when they called my name next.

“Sabrina?” The medical assistant said

“Yes,” I responded as I rose

She took my weight, blood pressure, temperature, and asked why I was here. I told her I was here for a check- up. She wrote everything down and said the doctor would be right in. I sat there and waited for the doctor, while waiting I looked around at the usual posters and saw one that looked different. Maybe that’s why the lady was crying when she came out of the office, maybe she had this weird word.

The poster said,” Do you think you might have gunkifunkiness?” “Do you tend to feel drowsy?” Do you feel lazy?” Do you want to feel better?” Well, then get the new get up and go shot and you will feel better in no time!!!

Okay, what is this crap and do I have to have it? I read further and they advise everyone to get it so you don’t end up getting sick in the long run. Well, ok what am I getting sick from and who would be getting me sick?

The doctor came in and asked how I was doing. I said I was doing fine until I read the poster over there and am wondering what is going on. He said that is the newest shot going around to keep you healthy and if I was wise, I would get it. He handed me a pamphlet to read up on it and see if I wanted to get it by my next appointment. I asked him if that’s why the lady that was leaving was crying was because she had it and he said he couldn’t say nothing really, but it be highly likely so.

I got my checkup done and left feeling more confused than when I went in to the appointment. I called my friends and family to see if they have heard of this new stuff going around. Some of my friends that were younger said they got the shot they didn’t want sick and then some said it’s just something else to make people scared then my family said they weren’t going anywhere near something like that because they aren’t sick and am not going to get a shot to get them sicker. I asked how the shot would get them sicker and they said because the shot had antibodies in it to fight what’s already in your body and so if it doesn’t fight it right it could get you sick and possibly kill you.

I was so confused from everyone I didn’t know what to do. I hung up the phone and sat there with all the thoughts roaming in my head when a beautiful butterfly landed on my table. I mean this thing was so majestic! It just sat there and flapped it’s wings back and forth until I fell asleep. I woke up to this butterfly sitting on my chest now.

“How are you feeling?” the butterfly said

“You can talk?” I asked

“Yes, I am able to talk I have been able to all my life. I am Geronimo the magnificent butterfly. I am here to change your life for the better whether you know it or not.”

“Why?” I asked

“Because, you are the only one out of all the people I saw question that ridiculous shot and not get it right away just because you were scared.”

“So, what do you want me to do then?” I asked

“I just want you to touch my wings and take on the butterfly wing effect and live extra wonderful instead of living in fear the rest of your life. You chose to wait and think over your choice of the shot so I want to give you the chance of a lifetime.” explained Geronimo

I thought about what he was saying and was like what’s the worst thing that could happen I mean I could die from the shot so why not try this and see what happens.

I touched his wings and felt this enormous swoosh throughout my body. It was Awesome!! I saw colors in a whole new way. I could see better, hear better, move better, and do what all I wanted to do I could do.

I thanked Geronimo for what he had given me and he told me not to screw my chances up. I asked what he meant and he said if I told anyone about what I had been given then I would lose my powers and be normal again.

I asked if I could give my powers to anyone or help anyone with what I have. He said I would have to think wisely because if I give too much away, I will start to feel worse with each person I give it to. I thought about it and said okay and thank you and he just flew away.

I slowly noticed how everyone was dying off from the shot and was getting worried that my friends and family would die also from it that I slowly started brushing up against them. I got to noticing that they were feeling great and I got to feeling lousy. I called upon Geronimo time and time again, but remembered what he said that they would feel better and I wouldn’t.

Should I brush up against them and get my powers back? No, then they would probably die because I took all their energy away. I feel so lousy though.

“Ha, Ha, Ha, you puny people! Unless you get me to touch you with my beautiful wings you won’t last more than a week!” said Geronimo, the magnificent butterfly

I yelled at Geronimo asking why he did this to us and he said because all this time we took advantage of all types of bugs flying around like his buddy Bruce the bee. All the honey he gives us and all we do is try and kill him and his family so now it’s their turn to kill us.

On that note he rose up and started twirling in circles faster and faster until all the energy was out of us and we lay there begging for it back.

Geronimo just laughed and flew away as we laid there crying.
