Fantasy Lesbian Romance

Okay, this is incredibly short. Sorry. But still, enjoy!

"No!" I scream.

No, no, no, no. This is not going to happen, I won’t let it.

I run to my best friend, catching her before she hits the ground.

“Tess…” I whisper. Not her.

I knew we should have stayed in the safe room during the war invasion. We never should’ve tried to help fight. Why did I let her go?

I’m strong enough to carry her, and I run out of the room with her in my arms. I go into one of the empty bedrooms in the castle, and lay her on the bed.

She opens her eyes and smiles at me, her curly black hair hanging in her face. “H-hey, Liz.”

“No, no, no, you can’t die.” I sob.

She’s bleeding from a stab wound in her stomach. The blood is bright against her skin. The guy who stabbed her left the knife and I think that’s why she’s still alive.

“Liz, it’s okay.” She says.

I shake my head, my tears blurring my vision. “No. No, it’s not. There has to be a way, right?”

“No, Liz.” She says.

“B-but, no! What-what about the gift? It can save you, right?”

She closes her eyes. “It could.”

When Tessa was born, her family found out she had the rare soulmate gift. That basically means that her soulmate can heal her. Sadly, she never found them.

“Then-then we just have to-”

“Liz.”

I shake my head. “Tess, there has to be-”

“Liz, please. I need to tell you something.”

I nod, wiping tears from my eyes.

She took a shaky breath. “I’ve loved you since we were eight.”

“W-what?” I gasp.

She keeps her eyes closed. “I never said anything, because I didn’t think it would matter.”

“Why would you think that?” I whisper.

She opens her eyes to look at me sadly. “You couldn’t be my soulmate. My parents expect me to marry my soulmate.”

“I wish you told me.” I say.

“You couldn’t-what?”

I smile. “I love you too.”

“W-what?” She says.

I nod. “For a long time.”

“Liz…” She whispers, reaching for me.

I let her pull my face down, and she kisses me softly. She’s crying, but I let her kiss me. She suddenly pulls back with a gasp.

“Liz!” She gasps.

I look at her. “What?”

“Look!” She says, her eyes lighting up. She pointed at her stomach. The blood was still there, but the wound around the knife was closing.

She looked back at me. “Maybe we are soulmates.”

“I’m so glad.” I whisper, throwing my arms around her.

She laughs, and puts her arms around me. “Me too.”

That's it, but I don't have enough words, so:

Thank you! No problem. I'm not out to my family, and I literately just write LGBTQ+, so I can't show them stuff yet.

My dad asked me yesterday why I won't let him see what I write, and I just said because.

Yes, but I don't know when. I don't want them to make a huge deal of it. I know they'll accept me and all, and I know my siblings suspect it, but I still panic every time I try to tell them.
