"HELP FAYE QUICKLY!" Mom screamed in terror.
I dashed down the stairs. Out of breath, I asked, "What the-?"
Then the truth hit me like a rock. The floor was covered in blood and my sister was dead, a knife in her side.
I dialed the phone. It was three rings before the lady answered.
"911 What's your emergency?" her voice sounded bored.
"M-my sister was stabbed!"
"Alright just stay where you are and we'll be right there!"
Where is there too? I thought.
The police got to my house a few minutes later.
"Where's the body?" one bearded man asked.
"Over here," my sobbing mother said.
"Do you know who did it?" the bearded man asked calmly.
"No, my m-mom just found it on the ground when she came home from the store. I-I was upstairs. I didn't know!" I sobbed.
"We'll have to ask you some questions."
At the police station...
"Were you the only one home?" he asked anxiously.
"Yes," I said in a panicked voice. What if they think I did it? I was just in my room the whole time!
"Faye, Faye can you hear me? Where were you when this happened?!"
"I don't know when this happened! I was in my room reading the whole time waiting for mom to get home." I started to cry. Then I realized something I wasn't the only one home my brother was home, but he was napping. So I decided not to tell them.
At home, my mother was very angry at me.
"YOU-YOU KILLED HER!" mother screeched.
"No I-I didn't, I didn't do it!" Although I didn't believe myself.
"PACK YOUR THINGS YOU'RE GOING TO AN ORPHANAGE!" mother was now crying.
At the orphanage...
"Are you Faye?" the headmistress said.
"Ye-yes I am.
"Well, you will be sleeping in room 125."
"Ok thank you."
As I walked up to my new room there were three other people I had to share it with.
"Oh look it's the new girl, Cass," said a boy.
"Don't mind her," said the girl he called Cass.
"I'm Faye, what's your name?" I said shyly.
"I'm Griffin. He said. Like I was supposed to know.
"I'm Cassandra but you can call me Cass, she said politely.
"How did you end up here?" Griffin said.
"My mom thought I murdered my little sister while she was gone at the store."
I shivered at the thought of all the blood that was on the floor.
A few years later...
"Let's run away from this junk place," Griffin said.
"Yea! Let's do it," Cass said.
"Sure we'll do it tonight!" I said excitedly.
That night we packed our stuff stole some food and left in the night.
"Let's drop off at my house to see if my mom has cooled off."
But when I got there my mother was dead. She was shot.
"NOOOO IT CAN"T BE TRUE, NOOOOO!"
They tried to comfort me but I wouldn't let them.
Just then the bearded police came and said.
"Where are your, parents?"
But we just ran.
"HEY COME BACK HERE!" the same bearded man yelled.
But we didn't we just kept running until our legs wouldn't move.
We were in the forest, lost, hungry, and tired with no place to sleep. Then I saw what looked like my brother my only family left with a gun. I blinked and then he was gone.
"What's wrong Faye?" Griffin said.
"Ahhhhh! Georgie, you scared the lights out of me."
"Shhhhhh," he said.
"Ohh sorry." "Well, I thought I saw My older brother with a gun."
"I'm sorry for yelling at you and Cass."
"It's okay I forgive you."
"So we need to go now or wolves will get us," he said.
"Ok, I'll wake up Cass."
"And I'll pack our stuff," Griffin said.
"Wait!" I said.
"What?" He said with his daring green eyes.
"Nevermind," I said.
The Next Day...
"We're changing course !" I said confidently.
"Where too?" Cass asked.
"To find my brother."
"But He'll KILL you!" Griffin said almost crying at the thought.
"I have to he killed my mom and little sister," I said almost yelling at him.
"Then let's go find him!" He said excitedly. "But wait aren't we fugitives for running away from the bearded police," Griffin stated.
"Oh, we'll just have to be very careful," I whispered.
Right as we stood up we saw a figure standing in front of us with a gun pointing at me Cass and Griffin.
"Hey, sis!" He chuckled.
Then I realized who this was. It was the murderer of my mom and infant sister. "Go away!" I said weakly.
"And who's gonna make me!" he said.
"Why did you kill mom and Wendy?!" I asked in a scared tiny voice.
"I killed Wendy for my own reasons I killed mom because she was on to me a few days after Wendys' funeral." "I did what I had to do."
"YOUR JUST A MURDERER! I HATE YOU HARVY!" I screamed.
"Well, you leave me no choice, Faye you'll have the same fate as your mother and sister," he said cruelly. He aimed the gun at me and pulled the trigger. Cass was on the ground bleeding. I wasn't dead, but Cass was. Harvey had fled.
"NOOOOOOO CASS NOOOOOO!" "Come back here you-you!"
Then Griffin was holding me back.
"Come on let's go there are the police coming!" Griffin said in a panicked voice.
"NOOOOOO NOT WITHOUT CASS!" I was crying and screaming at the same time. I pulled myself together and we also fled the night.
When I woke up to the smell of gasoline.
"Finally you're awake. I've been waiting for you."
"And hey, I'm sorry."
"For what?" I asked.
"For punching you, the police were chasing us and you were leading them to us so I knocked you out so they could not find us."
"Oh, I'm sorry for kicking and screaming."
"Well, it's not your fault I wanted to kick him and give him a taste of his own medicine of shooting Cass," he said starting to cry.
"Hey it's ok we'll find him and give him to the police."
