Fantasy Funny Romance

Dela flew up to the tree and landed in the branch highest up.

“Oh my! Dela, you are the coolest pixie ever.” She heard her sister Nissa say sarcastically.

“I know.” Dela flipped her silver hair dramatically. She had been telling Nissa how she had helped stop the giant wave that was about to destroy the city. She had been down at the beach hut to get a smoothie when the wave was about to hit.

She immediately flew up and used her ice magic to freeze it. Did the ice create a wall so nobody could enjoy the lake? Yes. Was everyone mad at her? Yes. Did she exaggerate what happened a little bit with Nissa? Of course not! Ok, she had.

“Nissa you just had to be there to see how cool I was.” Dela said as she watched Nissa fly up. Nissa landed on the branch.

“Dela. Flip contest.” Dela rolled her eyes. Flip contest was a game they played when they were younger. Dela always won, thank you very much.

“Ha! You know I’m going to win.”

“You wish,” Nissa tied her silvery hair back, “Rules are simple. On the count of three we jump. Whoever does the most flips wins.”

Dela crouched down, getting ready to propel herself into the air.

“1…” Said Nissa.

“2…” Dela said.

“3!” They both shouted and jumped out of the tree. Dela counted her flips as she went down. 1, 2 , 3 , 4…

Once she got close enough to the ground she flapped her wings and landed softly.

“Alright. How many did you do?”

“24.” Nissa narrowed her eyes at Dela.

“Liar.”

“I’m not lying!” Dela giggled. Nissa rolled her eyes.

“Yes you are! You flutter your wings when you lie.” Dela turned red and looked at her sparkly wings.

“OK, fine, I did 23.” Nissa laughed.

“I did 27! So I win!” Dela patted her on the back.

“Oh my! Nissa, you are the coolest pixie ever.”

“Oh, shut up.” Nissa elbowed Dela.

“Come on, I want to get back before supper.” Dela said. Nissa and Dela flew into the sky towards the little mushroom house. Nissa whooped as she held onto the cloud breaking off a chunk.

“Dessert?” She said. Dela nodded and Nissa broke off a piece and handed it to Dela. They both bit into the fluffy cloud.

“Mmmmm.” Dela said. Clouds were one of the most delicious foods ever. Not the stormy ones though, they were sour.

When they landed at their house, they walked in and saw their mother just finishing setting the table.

“Hello girls!”

“Hi Mother.” Dela said and walked into the kitchen to see what they were eating. Mother sniffed the air and narrowed her eyes at Nissa, who was sitting at the dining table.

“Did you eat clouds on your way here?” She demanded.

“No.” Nissa said.

“You expect me to believe that? Sit down and shut your mouth.” Mother turned, “sometimes I can’t believe you’re my daughter.” The angered woman stomped into the kitchen to scold Dela.

Soon Dela emerged from the kitchen and sat down next to Nissa.

“She scolded you too?” Nissa whispered. Dela nodded and leaned towards Nissa.

“We should’ve washed in the river before coming in.” Dela said, looking out the window towards the river.

Nissa was about to respond when Mother walked back in, her cheerfulness restored.

“Alright today we are having beans!”

“Again?” Nissa groaned. Mother glared at her.

“Nissa you already know it’s all we have. The tomatoes aren’t growing.” Dela rolled her eyes at her twin. Mother set down the plates and sat across from her two daughters.

Nissa took a bite and threw up in her mouth. “Mmmm. Delicious!” She lied and took a drink of her water to get the taste out of her mouth. She turned and watched Dela gobble down the beans.

“Done!” She grabbed her plate and ran into the kitchen. She put the plate into the sink and ran upstairs. She sat down on her bed and started writing in her journal. Nissa came up with a mopey look on her face.

“Mother said: ‘Get to bed right now!’” She said in Mother’s scratchy voice. Nissa laughed and looked at Dela. She grabbed the journal and flipped to the newest entry. “Dear Diary, Today I saw the cutest elf ever! He had jet black hair and-” Dela grabbed the journal back and glared at Nissa.

She shut off the lights and layed down. Nissa laid down as well, feeling guilt for what she did.

That night Dela thought it would be a great idea to get revenge on her nosy sister. She stood up and padded gently to Nissa. She grabbed Nissa and flew out the window, checking every second that she was still asleep.

She pulled a leaf from a big tree and laid Nissa on it. Then she flew to the lake and pushed Nissa out into the water, still asleep on top of the leaf. She giggled and flew back home where she fell asleep.

The next morning when Nissa woke up. She sat up and was confused as to why she was outside. She tried to stand up but the leaf wiggled, almost tipping her into the water. Wait. WATER?! She held her hands out to steady herself and flapped her wings to fly back home.

Only she couldn’t fly. Her wings had gotten wet, and pixies can't fly with wet wings. She groaned and did the only thing she could do.

“Help!” She yelled. She saw an elf at the shore watching as fire pixies melted the ice wall Dela had made. He looked out on the water to see the frantic pixie about to fall off. He tore off his tunic and jumped into the water. Once he got closer Nissa saw jet black her and abs.

Jet black hair… She then realized this must’ve been the elf mentioned in Dela’s journal. The elf put his hands on the leaf and pushed her back to shore. When she landed she jumped off.

“Thank you so much!” She said and hugged him. The elf looked at her, their faces inches away.

“Of course, Dela.” Nissa backed off.

“No, I’m Nissa.” Nissa turned around and saw Dela running closer to them waving her hand.

“Oh, Alfred!” She said, and when she arrived she laughed at Nissa, “What are you doing?” Nissa glared at her as Alfred shifted closer to Dela.

He whispered something to Dela and she nodded, Alfred leaned in and kissed Dela while Nissa stared at them.

They broke apart and Dela looked at Nissa. “Oh, Nissa! This is my boyfriend Alfred!” She said, blushing. Nissa kept staring.

“Did you put me into the lake?”

“Hey! It’s a people holiday!”

“It’s a people holiday to put people into lakes when they’re sleeping?”

“No! To play pranks on people, silly.”

Nissa smirked at Dela, already plotting her revenge.
