Strawberry Dress and a Goodwill Jacket

Amvri and I bonded over how cold it was in the abortion clinic. It felt like fucking Alaska in there, I have absolutely no idea why they would keep people getting abortions freezing and shaking but who knows. I had asked a few of my friends if they could come with me and they were all busy and I was a tad bit pissed because I had to go by myself so I drove my busted up 2014 Honda Accord 2 hours to get to the clinic and when I got there I was losing my shit I won't lie but I pulled what little of myself I could together and got out of the car to just get this done and over with. When I walked into the clinic I saw a girl with a beautiful strawberry dress, these flesh-colored sandals, and electric red hair. She looked like she had just stepped out of the movie Alice in Wonderland and at the moment I knew I had to be her friend. I walked over to the sign-in counter, grabbed the clipboard and papers the receptionist told me to fill out and I went and sat down right next to her. As I was filling out the sheets I looked over to my left to see her shivering. I said ¨Do you want my jacket?¨ She said ¨Are you sure?¨ I said ¨Yeah, no worries.¨ and then I passed her the jacket that I had gotten from my local goodwill for like 4 dollars. She said ¨Thanks. It's super fucking cold in here. I wish I hadn't worn this fucking dress.¨ I told her that I loved her dress and after that interaction, we've been attached by the hip ever since. After both of our appointments were over we drove to a nearby Waffle House and decided to eat our feelings away. She asked what my name was and I said ¨Andy¨ she asked what it was short for and I told her that she would have to get to know me a bit longer to find that information out. I asked what her name was and she said ¨Amvri.¨ I told her that she has such a cool name and I loved it and she just shrugged it off and said ¨Thanks.¨. After we finished eating we paid and walked behind the Waffle House and we just sat on the curb and talked. We talked about who we got pregnant by whether it be one night stands or shitty boyfriends. We talked about our families, our dreams and aspirations, and our hopes for the world and each other. We weren't ready to go our separate ways yet so I asked her if she wanted to go to Target, of course, she said yes because who doesn't want to go to Target. When we got inside we ran all around playing tag and hide and seek as normal 19-year-olds do. While in Target we stumbled upon the hair aisle and my eye was caught but some blue and purple hair dye. Once Amvri caught up to me I asked her if she wanted to buy it and her response was ¨YES OMG YES!!!!¨. We bought the hair dye and some towels left the store and we both drove to a QuickTrip and we dyed our hair in the Quick trip bathroom. Mine was purple and hers blue. I looked like a blueberry and she looked like an eggplant but both of our hair came out surprisingly well. We also bought slushies and sat in the QuickTrip parking lot just fucking around and having a good ass time. She told me she had somewhere to show me so we got into our cars and I followed her. When we got there it just looked like some forest and she said ¨We have to do some walking to get to the beauty.¨ So here we are, two 19-year-old girls, one in a strawberry dress, blue hair and flesh-colored sandals and the other in ripped stockings, platform mary janes, a plaid black, and white skirt and an oversized black shirt with purple hair walking through the woods all alone. Now that I'm thinking back on this that was a really stupid thing to do. Amvri could've been a serial killer or something. She wasn't and still isn't at least I don't think bur never the less still really stupid. After about 10 minutes of walking and me complaining and asking if we're there yet, we finally arrive at this beautiful field of flowers. All types of flowers like tulips, sunflowers, and daisies. This was one of the most beautiful places I had ever seen in my entire life. I asked her how she had found this place and she told me it was a secret. We ran and frolicked through the field like they do in the movies. We danced and screamed and sang and we just had the time of our lives until we got so tired we just fell down in the flowers and just laid and looked at the setting sun. We had to hurry and get back to our cars because there was absolutely no way Amvri would be able to navigate through those woods in the fucking dark. We got up and ran through the forest fast enough so we would be able to get to our cars before the sunset but just slow enough so we didn't trip or fall over anything. When we got back to our cars we both realized it was time for us to go our separate ways even though we didn't want to we swapped phone numbers and Instagrams gave each other hugs goodbye and got into our cars and drove away. As I was driving home I wondered if it was fate that all of my friends were busy today and that I had to go to the clinic by myself I also thought who would've known id meet my best friend in an abortion clinic.
