This is an important message, Reedsy.
My friend Ari Reynes, has been downvoted from 4,600 to 1,000. This is unacceptable and the hard-worked for points are gone-poof. This isn't a threat, but a lot of people are taking breaks from Reedsy.
This is a time when downvoters are striking the most-either from multiple accounts or just from teaming.
Sadly, the Marshmallows are practically gone.
I wasn't here when all that happened, however, I suspect that that's the reason why Marshmallows were created; the cause of downvoters.
I have just checked, and many of my friends were downvoted 5,000 points down. Literally. Want me to list a view? Sure! I'll gladly, but I bet that'll be the rest of the story.

As you can see, downvoting is making people feel...Hurtful. Perhaps it may sound stupid just to quit Reedsy just because of some stupid downvoters-well, it is. Wanna know why? 'Cuz your friends are just gonna be there and upvote you. When I was downvoted, it was a battle between them and my friends (obviously my friends won.) Thanks to them, I'm above 1k, without...I'd be at 0.
The upvoting button SHOULD BE A THING.
The downvoting button SHOULDN'T BE A THING.
Reedsy, I doubt you'll ever see this message because...
1. You never respond to my emails.
2. Your boss would never (probably) see this.
3. You'd let the downvoting button exist anyway even after everyone left Reedsy, huh?

this writing site was not crafted for the sake of the people in the community to be downvoting and all that fire-fuel. just a little add-on to what the idea was originally at.
notice how i specified it as a WRITING SITE! this website was generated so that people can gather around, write on a prompt every week, and help each other with improving each other's work.
be a writer, help each other out, and build each other up.
i bet the only reason you're on here is that you searched up "writing prompts" and reedsy was the first one to pop onto the list. you clicked on that, made an account, and set it to work. you started writing!
these downvotes ruined your joy, didn't they?

Sis, I donโt think you should allow being downvoted to affect you this much... I canโt say how much it hurts because Iโve been lucky enough to not be downvoted that much..but the leaderboard is worthless anyway. People are stealing points from upvoting and downvoting. If it makes you feel better, Iโll still upvote you, but the amount of points you have has ZERO relation to the quality of your writing. Youโll have to get in your head that even though there are so many good people on Reedsy, there are less, if not just as many, bad people. They want a reaction and theyโll continue downvoting you if you give them one. I understand youโre upset and sad, but please calm down and think about what Iโve saidโฆ

GUYS!, are you mad? Like people are leaving reedsy because of points? Now Iโve heard everything! I mean, do take breaks and go away if you must (I am contemplating those two ideas myself) though because of points? I also donโt want the place to go bonkers, so I think I oppose the full โdown voteโy thingy too. And I am seriously ready to up vote someone if someone needs my help.

Arh, I guess itโs what most people wants to do, they want their works to be discussed, all the authors, writers and DOWN VOTERS, seriously, use your brain and think about it, the down voters must be loving this, we are discussing their work so much! So why are we discussing the full down voting, we should be discussing writing!
Arh, and they are influencing the leader board, like people loves influencing others lives, in a good way OR a bad way. it all gets worse is when the leader board come in. Whatโs itโs use? All it does is make reedsy a game with points. So, why are why are we going after gaining points?, we should be writing!
Why do we want points?, ok, the leader board, everyone loves competition, anything else? I would, honestly, not sarcastically, love to know. I kinda donโt know what points I got after zero, or what my points are now or if I am being down voted. I am totally point-blind, lol. And I donโt look at points before reading someoneโs story, does anyone do that?, I would love to know.
