It was the best day ever. I was to be credited with five dollars! I know, it is kind of low but this was the only job that fit me after being homeless for a weird decade. I opened an account right from the money I got from selling the hose I stole from a nearby garden. No one thinks that people will rob away such stuff so it was utterly easy. It is bad, I know. Still, it was the first time I stole something in my life.
Once I stole a bush too. I'm not a fan of bushes and that's because I'm not a jerk. You know what, many plant bushes and cut them into shapes, it's really irritating to see such stuff. I wonder what's wrong with these twentieth century people. They cut big trees and plant bushes that are cut into shapes. They just can't keep their hands away from the nature.
I sold the bush and got ten dollars. I felt afraid and went back and gave the money to the owner of the bush. I told her the whole story and she forgave me.
Afterwards, I never stole and never will as I'm afraid of sins. Trust me, I didn't feel like keeping that account as it was opened from bad money. It was deleted right the next day. You don't call it 'deleted', I guess but something like that. Anyway, my luck turned up! I got a new account opened by the owner of my new job. Free of charge!
I was in the bank, waiting in the queue to the ATM. It wasn't a long way, just one guy inserting his details. After thirty seconds, I was in front of it, my hands trembling with excitement. I've never used something like that before so it was like magic. Real magic! It was a really space-age equipment. You could click it with fingers and it was absolutely fun. I'm pretty certain that the bank has put such equipment to trick people. When people see such magical stuff, they will deposit.
I was directed to the balance. My head started making a sound of a machine after seen the balance. The balance was one dollar!
I took a call to my employer, he said he's already got the receipt too.
I tried again. But it was the same. Then, I got a call.
'Hello,' I said.
'Are you Yum?' asked the voice.
'Yes, I am,' I said.
'You will not be able to do bank transactions. You will have to pay ten thousand dollars or else your life will be in danger. Don't try to be an idiot and complain to the police. Mind you, we're spying you. Bring the money tomorrow night to the cave in the Serviette Wood,' the voice said in a rough way.
'I...,' I was about to reply but he kept from the other end.
I was nervous and furious. A hitman has threatened me. I had to find ten thousand dollars before the next night. Am I to rob, blackmail or find a blue collar job? Jobs won't work in a jiffy. Non employees me either.
I was already in the answer! Rob the Bank!
It wasn't easy as I said, though. Perhaps I could rob and pay the hitman and run away to a cool apartment or get caught to the police after paying the money or die without paying. Don't think I'm gonna rob the bank for five dollars. I wanted to live some more.
Night invaded the city with rain. I had no plan to rob. I felt like the hitman was lying about spying so I thought of moving to a new place from the old garage I was in. I packed my essentials and ran in the rain, taking shelter from the shop roofs. I got to a park where there were enormous trees like in the dinosaur era. It wasn't wet underneath them so I settled down as I felt like I've come a long way.
I woke up in the morning to find myself in a pitch black room. I found myself tide to a pole with my legs and hands tied. I shouted 'help!'. I've got no idea if it really was something brainy or foolish. A person covered in black came. He put his pistol near my head and said:
'Trying to run away? I said I'm spying. Now go and bring the money back to the place I asked you to. Run!'
I ran and was astounded to see myself untied. I ran out to the street and found it familiar like my mother tongue. I was in my garage! He has brought me back. Indeed, it's so stupid. I bought a toy pistol and went to an unknown shop. Then did as many do. Kept the pistol and asked for money. He didn't look frightened at all. He went a little afar, took the hand I was holding the pistol and twisted! I was confused when he went afar but I thought he was about to get to the cashier. I fainted and woke up in a hospital bed with my hand hanging from a pole and a policeman was next to the bed. He smiled and asked if I would mind if he slept next to me in that small bed. That was the first time I've ever slept in a bed. My eyes went a little big and he was next to me the whole night.
I was on the floor the next morning with my hand hanging to the pole like thing. I was half off the bed and another half on the bed. I tried to get up and the pole fell on to me and the policeman rolled down on to me, screaming like it hit him.
The next day, I was about to go from the hospital when the policeman said that I have to go the police station. I thought the policeman was in charge of protecting me from the hitman but it turned out to be an awful NO! I was taken to the courts. It was a long wait. There were lots of others. They might have done stuff like I did and might have ended up there. At last I got a chance to get into the cage like thing. It had nice carvings and I felt happy to get into a thing like that. I've heard it's a lucky sign. I cooled down.
There was a fat guy sitting in a high chair like a king. His eyes looked just like the hitman's.
I thought he'll set me free and help me get out of that hitman. He was kind of honoured by the people. I've got no idea why. He's just a human being like me.
This I-think-is-a-human-guy was talking with the other cage guy. I guess he asked something from me but I've got a hearing problem so I didn't hear what he asked. He was hitting something like a hammer to something. I suppose his table got a nut loose and he was to fix it.
I kept smiling because I've heard smiles can do lots of things. I thought he would let me free after seen my smile.
Anyway, that fat guy, who was sitting up there just like a rock, almost killed me by asking me to pay ten thousand dollars! The fat guy told me that I'll be 'arrested' if I won't.
I'm no vocabulary genius or a wizard to go through a dictionary so I totally didn't understand what he meant by 'arrested'.
The other guy whom I didn't recognise at first was the person who twisted my hand. He was laughing as I felt.
I went back to my feeble garage. There was no one. I searched for the hitman under my black carpet, coat and inside the old bulb which was hanging from the roof.
I went to Serviette Wood that night. I didn't take any money as I didn't have any. I was thinking of asking him to be patient and help me with the courts issue, but it's bad to have bad buddies so I gave up. An immensely famous story is that there're ghosts in the Serviette Wood.
I was in the middle of the dark wood. There was a wooden house with a light on. I knocked on the door. It cracked open. But none came out. I slowly crept in and the door shut automatically with a thud! There was none, though. I asked if anyone was around but no reply came. There was a musty feeling inside. Lots of old ornaments were there with king's era like furniture. There was a photo of an old guy with red eyes and tongue out! It was horrific!
I felt like someone was touching my back. I turned around, there was a floating coat, slowly floating in the air. No one was wearing it. I seized it with fear, and it disappeared.
I was taking quick breathes. I ran to the door to get out but found it locked. I started shouting help! All of a sudden, my voice went out. I was shouting but wasn't hearing any.
Someone with a knife came to me. He had a worm in his head and a bush in his hand. He was covered with mud. I saw no eyes or nose other than a wide O shaped mouth.
The knife floated towards me and...
