Friendship Funny Mystery

We both looked at each other. Then the broken window.

“It was you,” he said.

“No you,” I said.

Hi. My name is Dimitri and the person that I am talking to is my brother Kamden.

We were both having an argument to see who broke the window.

“I just found it here,” said Kamden. “It was probably you. You are never careful with anything.”

“Me? You are the wacko who ruins everything,” I said.

“Really?”

“Yup.”

Suddenly we heard shouting.

“Who in the universe broke my window!!!” he shrieked.

We both jumped at the sound of his screaming.

Then, we ran as fast as we could.

After a long run, we were both gasping, very soundfully.

“Okay, that man was furious,” said Kamden.

“We are in so much trouble,” I said.

“But, you will be in the most trouble,” said Kamden. “Always jumpy and careless.”

“Say you.”

We both gave each other angry looks. After a long time, we finally stopped.

“Want to fight?”

“No. We will get in even more trouble.”

“Totally.”

We were thinking about a way of how we can get out of this mess.

“Okay, so right where I left off, I was going to meet my best friend, Sam, but then suddenly, some reckless driver came and almost hit me.”

“Oh.”

“Then, as I ran off to safety, I finally met my friend. We had a nice discussion, but then I told him about the reckless driver.”

“Okay,” I said.

“Then for comfort, he gave me some cookies and some warm milk. It tasted so good. After that, about 25 minutes later, we heard a very loud crash.”

“Woah!”

“Sam and I were shocked, so we decided to go check on it. Unfortunately, all we saw was this broken window. But I didn’t break it.”

“Hmmm!” I said. “I think you are lying.”

“No!”

“Yes!”

“Do you really think that I am a liar!?” yelled Kamden. “I just told you a true story.”

“Yup. You totally did.”

“Why won’t you believe me?” said Kamden.

“Because you are always a liar!” I yelled.

“I am not!” yelled Kamden.

“Yup. You totally are,” I said.

“Do you seriously think that I will break someone’s window?” asked Kamden. He looked both left and right. “Well, I didn’t. Alright?”

“Okay then,” I said.

“Then, let's go here with your story,” said Kamden, folding his arms across his chest.

“Well, I was going to a Soccer practice at the field. I was playing ball with my friend, but unfortunately, I also heard a loud crash as well. My friend and I ran to see the problem, and here it was.”

“Who is your friend?”

“Wells.”

“Okay.”

“So, if I didn’t break the window, then you didn’t then who did?”

“I have no idea. This is a mystery.”

“A total mystery.”

“Should we call the police?”

“Su-”

Suddenly, we heard a loud siren where the broken window was.

“I bet it was those two teen boys!” someone yelled.

“You can’t accuse someone without proof!” another yelled.

Kamden and I looked at each other.

“They think it was us,” he said.

“We have to run. Again! Now!” I yelled.

We ran as fast as we could before the police caught us.

“They are running away. It is definitely them!” shouted the first voice.

We ran as fast as we could. We don’ t want to be arrested.

“If we don’t run fast enough, they will take us away!”

“We have to run faster!”

The police cars were racing toward us.

“If you don’t stop running, we will get you and your parents will have to be informed!” the police yelled.

We were running like the wind. We were running so fast we couldn’t catch our breaths.

“We didn’t break the window!” yelled Kamden. “It was probably someone else. We just saw it there.”

“Don’t lie!” yelled the police. “The owner of the house thought you did. And I believe them, completely!”

“We need a place to hide. Then when we go home, we have to act like nothing happened. Okay?”

“Okay.”

We ran to a nearby bush and a large tree, a place where the police would not find us.

After that, they immediately got out of their cars.

“Show yourselves,” they yelled. “They were so mad, steam poured from their ears.

“When they leave, we run home as fast as we can. And act like nothing happened.”

“Okay.”

After a long time, the police didn’t find us anymore.

We blew a sigh of relief.

“When we find those two, they will pay for what they did. Most teens are trouble,” said the police.

“Yup,” said the other one.

They left the area and drove back to the police station.

Amden and I looked at each other.

“Teens are trouble, hmmm?”

“Shh! Do you want someone to hear us?”

He shook his head.

“Okay. Then, let's head home.”

We looked both ways and then ran as fast as we could.

After we reached home, we were breathing very heavily.

“Hi Mom, hi Dad.”

“Hello, dear,” said Mom. “How are you?”

“Fine,” I said.

“Well you are breathing very hard,” she said.

“We just ran fast, that is all,” Kamden said. “We were afraid that we would be late.”

“Well okay,” she said. “You can come get dressed up and get ready for dinner.”

“Okay, mom!” we said.

“Did you boys play with each other?” asked Dad.

“Well, I think we did,” we said.

“Okay.”

As we got ready for dinner, we talked about the situation that we were in.

“What if they catch us?”

“I don’t know, I hope they don’t. They probably wouldn’t. They already left at that time.”

“I hope that our parents don't find out. I mean, I do want to live peacefully, you know.”

“Okay. Let’s head down for dinner.”

As we head down for dinner, acting like nothing happened.

We were eating turkey and chicken lasagna with mac and cheese and butter chicken. Delicious.

“I hope this will calm down your nerves,” said Mom. “After all, we do love cheese.”

“Yup, we do,” we said. We carefully sat down and ate in peace.

“So, what did you do today?” asked Dad.

Kamden and I looked at each other.

“We were just playing together, that’s all.”

“Anything suspicious?” asked Mom.

“Nope.”

“Okay, then. Hope you two have fun tomorrow.”

“Thanks. And by the way, the dinner you made is delicious.”

“Thank you, dear.”

As we packed up for dinner and went to bed, I told Kamden, “ The police might get here soon.”

“How?” he asked.

“I am not sure, but I was hoping that they would not get here. I mean, no one saw us.”

“Okay,” he said.

“Well, let’s hope that they don’t.”

“Okay, good night.”

“Good night.”

As we peacefully went to sleep, we dreamed of nothing but peace.

The next morning, we woke up to sirens in our house.

“What is happening?” asked Kamden as he came to my room.

“Oh my God! Look.”

We came to my window.

Around us, police cars surrounded our house. At the door, the policemen were talking to our parents.

Mom was shocked. Dad was angry.

“Oh no, we are in so much trouble,” whispered Kamden, gasping. What are we going to do?”

I have no idea,” I said.

Then we heard their voices. “Kamden and Dimitri Boston, get down here right now, young men!”

“Oh no!”

“Come on, let’s go downstairs.”

As we headed downstairs in silence, the policemen that were chasing us yesterday saw us.

“That's them, your two sons broke the window!” he yelled.

Mom and Dad marched toward us.

“You two are in so much trouble!” Mom yelled.

“But we didn’t break the window, we just found it like that,” said Kamden.

“Yeah, that was what happened yesterday,” I said.

“The policeman said that you ran away and hid near a bush and tree!” barked Dad. “Do you have any idea what you just did?!”

We looked at the policemen. They gave us angry eyes.

“We ran away so that we wouldn’t be arrested,” I said.

Then I thought to myself, what if this is posted on Social Media? Everyone would laugh at us.

“Can’t they at least fix the window?” pleaded Kamden.

“Not until you two have some serious discussion time!” yelled Dad. “The policeman said that you guys will go to the police station with them, to discuss what happened yesterday. After that, when you get back home, you two will be punished and grounded for life.”

Kamden and I looked at each other.

This was shocking. Very shocking.

“You two are coming with me,” said the policeman.

He ordered us to follow him.

As we headed outside, we saw that everyone came out of their houses, looked at us, and took lots of pictures of us.

Some even whispered and gave us shocked faces. There was a lot of whispering and taking pictures.

As we entered the police car, Dad closed the door. Very loud.

Kamden and I were shaking. We could be in prison for sure.

As we got to the police station, we exited the car and entered the police station

Luckily, the policemen didn’t point guns at us, they just handcuffed us, just in case we tried to escape again.

We entered the police station and there were two chairs for us.

“Sit down!” barked the policeman.

We immediately sat down.

“Now, can you tell me what exactly happened yesterday?” he asked.

“Well, my brother and I went to meet each other, until we heard this loud crash, and we went to see what was going on,” I said. “Also, before the window broke, I was going to a Soccer practice with my friend, Wells. We wanted to play in the tournament this weekend.”

“ Today I was going to my friend's house to hang out and play video games,” said Kamden. “His name was Sam.”

The policeman was taking notes as we talked.

“Go on,” he said.

“Then we heard this loud crash and we came to a house with a broken window,” I said.

“That was when my brother and I saw each other.”

“Then, I asked him if he did it, he said no, because I didn’t do it either. I don’t think any of us did. You might have got the wrong person,” I said.

“The owner of the house said you did,” said the policeman.

“He doesn't know anything,” I spoke back. “He has no proof.”

“Silence!” yelled the police. “He said you did and that would leave you guys in prison for a week.”

“Week? We just told you the truth,” I said, frustrated.

“And I don’t believe you at all,” he said. “You two will go to prison and pay for your actions.”

“You can’t do that!” we yelled.

But it was already too late.

“He opened the prison door for us and we slowly entered inside.

“Just to let you two know, I am going to call your parents, and tell them that you guys are going to stay here for a week.”

Kamden and I looked at each other.

“Okay, so you literally don’t believe us?” asked Kamden.

“Nope. You two are making the story up to get yourself out of trouble.”

“Sir, we are telling the truth,” I said.

“Well, I didn’t believe you, so you can’t change my mind,” he said.

“But sir-”

He had already left.

Kamden and I looked at each other. Again.

“What are we going to do?” asked Kamden.

“I have no idea,” I said. “But let’s think for a moment. Was anyone else in the scene where we saw that the window was broken?”

“No, I didn’t see anyone,” said Kamden.

“Okay. But the window was really big, so whoever did it must have told the owner of the house that we did it to avoid trouble,” I said.

“How would you know?”

“I think the suspect might have wanted us to get in trouble since we were the ones that went to it when it happened first,” I said.

Then I began to ask questions.

“Kamden, did Sam go anywhere when you met him?” I asked.

“Um, no?” he said.

“Okay. Did you see anyone around us when the window broke?”

“I am not sure. But I think I remembered seeing someone with brownish-red hair. I didn’t see the whole person, though.”

Then I was thinking, Did anyone from my Soccer practice go inside?

Then Kamden finally spoke.

“So , may I ask you some questions?”

“Sure,” I said.

“Did anyone from your Soccer team go away or did someone not show up?” Then I thought deeply.

“Well, there are a lot of people in my Soccer team, but I think I can remember all of them,” I said.

“Like who?” he asked.

“I remembered Kolton, Reagan, Bjom, Seamus, Decker-”

I suddenly paused.

“What?” asked Kamden.

“Wait, Decker,” I said.

“What about him?”

“He has brownish red hair and dark brown eyes. Wait, I think it might be him!”

“Decker? Wait.Who is Decker?”

“He is someone from my Soccer team. I bet that rascal must have kicked the ball in some random person’s house and rattled on us.”

“Why?”

“I think it was because he was jealous that I won the last Soccer tournament and that people made fun of him for losing. Back then, I was so thrilled I won, I didn’t congratulate him.”

“Dude, you are so selfish.”

“Well sorry, but what he did was worse.”

“I think he has anger problems.”

“Yeah, think so.”

“Wait. What if someone else came instead of us?”

“Well, he might have tried to set it on us. If it were someone else, he would have accused himself. But since it was us, he wanted people to believe it was us.”

“Oh.”

“So, he tried to get us in trouble. Only us. No one else.”

‘Okay. But that doesn’t give him the right to get us in trouble just because of a tournament. But could you tell me more about Decker?”

“ He is only 16 years old and he is known to have anger problems. He likes to get people he dislikes in trouble so that he would feel good about himself. He is a total social outcast and no one wants to be his friend.”

“Good for him.”

“What?”

“He probably has no friends because he is always doing wacky insane things to others,” he said.

“You don’t even know him.”

“Because he is a social outcast. Big reason.”

After 5 minutes had passed, I spoke again.

“Did you know one time he tried to hit on Channel, just because she is one of the prettiest girls in the school?”

“Really? What did he do?”

“Well, she kept on avoiding him, but he kind of followed her around the school. That is when she got so annoyed, she told a teacher and he got suspended for two weeks.”

“Good for him. And besides, he doesn’t deserve her anyway. I mean, Channel is amazing. Have you seen her ballet? She is awesome.”

“Really?”

“Yup.She has the bluest eyes for a person and really frizzy gorgeous dark brown hair. She is funny, kind, smart, and amazing.”

“Okay, then.”

“But I just see her as a friend, you know,” said Kamden. “I am not really into her.”

“Okay, sure.”

After a long time, for like 20 minutes, we decided to talk again.

“Should we tell the police it was him?” asked Kamden.

“I am not sure. I mean the police would not believe us a bit, you know.”

“Oh. Okay then.”

“But I do believe we could escape prison.”

“How? We would get in bigger trouble.”

“No, we need to hide from the cameras.”

Then I already had a plan. I told Kamden how we are going to escape prison.

After I told him my whole plan, he got wild.

“Yes, that is amazing.”

“But don’t let the cameras see you okay?”

“Okay.”

We got a hard metal thing that was near us and used our prison blankets to block the cameras so that the security guard wouldn't see us. Then I used the sharp metal thin to break out of prison, by butting the bars. It worked at an instant. After that, we used the mattresses to block the entrance so that no one would find us easily.

After all that, we got out of prison in the nick of time.

“Great plan, bro,” said Kamden. “But now what will we do?”

“We ran as fast as we could.”

“But we will get in more trouble.”

“No, it’s totally okay. We can hide in a place.”

“But they might call our parents.”

“Oh yeah! Shoot!”

“Well, if we find a way-”

Suddenly the sirens started blasting.

“Two prisoners have escaped! I repeat two prisoners have escaped!”

“Oh no!” we said.

We ran as fast as we could, but the policemen saw us.

“You two! Stop!” he yelled.

We ran so fast that we slipped on wet grass and fell.

After that, we immediately became motionless.

After what seemed like forever, I woke up. In my room.

“Where are we?” I asked.

“Dude, we went back in time because some old wizard guy used his powers on us,” said Kamden. “His name is Magixon. I just met him because I woke up before you did. He said that he would meet us when we have time.”

“Okay,” I said.

“Also, Decker is in jail. That poor loser had to suffer. Also, the policemen totally knew that he was lying and we were telling the truth. So yeah. Also, Mom and Dad are okay, so we are not in trouble anymore. Everything happened when you were asleep. Everything is peaceful now.”

“Really, you are speaking so fast, dude.”

“Sorry, I just wanted to have enough time. To play Soccer with my dear brother.”

“Thanks, dude. So, everything is okay, now?”

“Yup.”

“Okay.” We headed outside to play Soccer in the beautiful afternoon sun.
