Magical Heavan Star

Not a single ray of sun in the sky. Not a single bird chirping its melody in the air. Katherine Sommers also known as Kate was laying down in her bed, watching tv on that utterly boring and lazy day. Her parents had left her home alone for their special meeting with boarding directors in another country, but this was not a first time, as the sixteen-year old girl had stayed alone at many different occasions. Now, Katherine was in the kitchen drinking coffee, after taking a bath and slipping into more decent and warmer clothes, when suddenly her phone stating ringing. Richard Allen known as Richie was calling her only to tell her that he had discovered something and he was bringing the other 3 friends along to which she agreed immediately.   

A few moments later there was a knock on the door and she opened the door revealing the smiley faces of Richie, Michael known as Mike, William known as Will, and Steven known as Steve. They exchanged greetings and drank some hot chocolate that Kate had already prepared for them. After gulping the drink Mike wasted no time in showing Kate his laptop. “I know you probably wouldn’t believe me, but you have to listen to me. So, as you know how boring winter holidays get and you cannot get out of the house, so I started researching on the differences of magnetic and electric field in our city just for fun, but being the computer master nerd I am I mistakenly spotted a strange amount of variation in the fields. And when I checked the location, finding out it was a huge coincidence as showed me your house. This is an instrument that measures changes in magnetic fields, so I need to scan your house to see what it is”, mike explained in a long breathless speed. Kate stopped for a moment to digest all the new information and then said “carry o, be my guest, my parents aren't returning for 2 weeks, but you will tidy any mess you 4 make.” Well, luckily for Kate, being the only girl in the group of 5 friends had its own perks. No one could say “no” to her.  

And so, the search stated, Richie being responsible for measurements, Will and Steve for the calculations, while Mike and Kate were using the instrument to see where the changes in magnetic field are occurring. After a complete five-hour search the found nothing, not a single variation, not a single disturbance. All five friends were greatly disappointed on the results, so they decided to give up and watch a movie instead. Richie and Kate went to her room for getting extra pillows and sheets for the movie.

When they came back, they heard a beeping sound coming from the living room, and saw shocked faces of Mike, Will, and Steve. The beeping sound was coming from the device as a large amount of magnetic field disturbance was felt. “What did you two do? As soon as you left there was a disturbance felt in the field. Come on Kate, we have to search your room again”, Mike interrogated and announced. All five friends rushed in and Steve asked where did they get the blankets from, Richie and Kate replied in unison saying “the cupboard”. Mike snapped, as if a shining yellow lightbulb was lighted over his head. He quickly rushed towards the cupboard and started to carefully remove her stuff from the cupboard. “What in the heavens are you doing Mike”, Kate asked, clearly annoyed as Mike was making a huge mess in her room. To which he replied with a simple “trust me”.  

After that, he took the device from Kate’s hand, and determined the cupboard, with a triumphant look on his face. “Gentlemen” he paused for a moment “and a lady” he continued, “I was right, there is something up with your cupboard”. All of them were quietly observing the cupboard to see anything abnormal, when suddenly Steve broke the silence saying “he what is this, looks like a tape or sticker to me”. Everyone became alert of the fact that Steve indeed was right, so Will leaned forward removing the layer, and found 9 blanks and a small piece of writing saying:  

Dare trespass my threshold

Don’t dream you shall flee T The strongest, the swiftest

cannot evade me

I’ll seize you and crush you

and wrench you apart

Though no one may gaze

on my singular heart

“What is this?”, Richie asked completely confused. “It is a riddle”, Mike stated. “But this is so complicated how are we going to figure it out guys?”, Will asked clearly worried. “Well, we know that it is a place, because you can’t trespass it. Flee meaning you will fly, no one can evade it so is it like a wall?”, Kate asked. “Or another dimension, for what we know anything is possible, Kate”, Steve spoke up. “Singular heart means one entrance, and seize, crush and wrench are things that only a vacuum”, Kate explained. “So, what is this, things like that only happen in abyss, which is clearly not the answer seeing it's not a nine- letter word”, Richie stated, clearly annoyed by the lack of the answers. That’s when realization hit Kate like a train, and she gasped causing the four boys to look at her in concern. “The Blackhole, that is it THE BLACKHOLE!!!!!! It all fits. Nine letters, vacuum, entrance is the singular heart, and no one can get through it” Kate spoke in a quick speed. “Come on guys, what the worse that can happen. The thing won’t open, not a problem. At least we can try”, Mike persuaded, and everyone nodded their head “yes”. So, Kate proceeded and typed the word with a keyboard-looking-thing. Nothing happened, but after a few seconds of complete and utter silence, a door unlocking sound was heard.  

 The next thing they say was not a cupboard but an open door, rainbow lights emitting from it. They all seemed dazed and hypnotized by the sudden appearance, and that is when all entered the mystery place for the best or for the worst.

 “What do you think this place is guys?”, Kate asked completely flabbergasted by the tremendous view in front of her. The whole floor was covered with snow, as if a layer if thick snow blanket had been placed upon the area. It was all dark blue in the background though, with streaks of silver on it, looking like shooting star falling from the sky on a dark night. “I don't know but this certainly isn’t earth”, Will gasped. “Don't you think we should go back; this could be really dangerous and we have nothing to defending ourselves”, Kate suggested. And so, they all agreed, but turning around they saw something they never hoped for; the door had vanished. They all started panicking, who wouldn’t when you are stuck in an unknown mystery dimension with zero back up. “Uh Ou”. All held each other's hand and starting running in a random direction, when they saw a mirror in front of them.

Richie went forward and started screaming holding his throat, claiming he saw himself drown in water, while looking into the mirror. They all exercised different things, each ending up with a scream. Will saw his parents die, Steve saw a strange lady all dressed in white with red stain on her dress, assuming she was a ghost. Mike saw himself falling from a cliff, and lastly Kate saw herself trapped in a coffin, with no air, light, or space. After sharing those horrifying experiences with each other, they came to the conclusion that the mirror shows them what they are most afraid of. None of them wanted to admit it out loud, but all knew deep inside, whatever this place was nothing but evil.

Not knowing where to go, they again starting walking on an unknown path. “Hey guys, lets split up”, Will gave a lame idea. “Are you crazy Will. We don't know where we are, and how to get out. We need to stick together and the last thing we want is to lose each other. This place is like a maze and we cannot afford to get separate each other.”, Kate shouted at Will. It had been hours since they were walking and there was not a single sign that showed them hope. So, all of them sat down for resting, but due to tiredness they all drifted into their sleep and dreams. 

Mike and Richie were the first in walking up realizing that they were no longer in the place they sat down for rest, but now they were in a strange room sitting in some sort of electronic chair tied to it. Mike looked around and saw Kate in a chair right beside him, and so were Will and Steve. “Where are we? And why are we tied up in these strange chairs Richie?”, Mike asked in a husky voice. “I have no idea; I just woke up a second before you man. Kate, Will, Steve wake up. Now is not the best time for napping guys. Please, wake up”, Richie pleaded. All of them suddenly stirred in their sleep and woke up asking the same questions Mike asked Richie. “We need to get out of here”, Kate announced and started to struggle in her seat. 

Suddenly, the door slammed open, and a weird creature came in. It looked like a robot costume and a helmet was sitting on his head. His bloody red eyes were shining. “WHO ARE YOU?”, he suddenly shouted in an inhumanly robotic voice. “It doesn’t matter, you invaded our planet, and you will be executed for this sin.”, he said, while getting them out of the chair and putting weird electronic handcuffs-looking-like things on their hand. “Sir, we didn’t do anything I swear it was a cupboard in my room and there was this riddle we solved and the door opened, letting us here. We didn’t do anything. What is this place?” Kate started. “This is our planet, “Heaven Star”, we live in the galaxy parallel to Milky way.”, the creepy guy explained. “This guy is crazy. He is saying not only are we not on Earth or our Solar system or our orbit belt, yet on another Galaxy. This is insane if it’s the truth we are all going to die”, Steve rambled. “Not today”, Kate exclaimed. “Hey creepy dude”, she said, and the rod she just picked up from the floor came in contact with his head knocked him out instantly. “WOAH!!!!!!!!”, they all exclaimed. “Come on”. And so, they ran. 

Getting outside the room they say the most beautiful place ever seen. That was how one imagined paradise to be. And so, they realized the place isn't as evil as they thought. All types of fruits and many kinds that they had never seen before were hanging from fresh green trees. Sky was pinkish-blue creating a bit of a purple and sun was shining in in a way that was relaxing but not burning. Cold breeze blowing past them. That’s when they realized how hungry they were. They quickly picked some apples and other fruits and again ran. “Any idea on how to get out of this heavenly hell?”, Richie asked. “Wait look that”, Kate alerted everybody. “It looks like a park or a garden Kate, what's so new, everything here is beautiful and mesmerizing”, Mike answered. “It is not just any garden Mike, look closely guys, it looks exactly like the park beside my house. The same shape, and the gate is at the same position. The creepy guy told us that this a parallel galaxy so what if we are in a reflection world. This is the Earth, but in a parallel universe we just time travelled into another galaxy. That is why Mike, your instrument was detecting magnetic disturbances, it is all about space and physics.”. “You still did not tell us how to get out of here, Kate”, Richie complained to Kate. “I am getting there Rich. I am not exactly sure but I think the same way we came in. The cupboard in my house.”

They all started searching the house and after a few minutes, Mike found a house looking like Kate’s. Quietly, they sneaked into her room alike place, fortunately the room’s window was open. They found another creepy guy, but luck was on their side, and he was sleeping. They carefully opened the cupboard and the same riddle was written there, which they again answered, causing a beeping awaking the sleeping beast. But the door opened, and they escaped the Heaven Star, just in time.  

Opening their eyes, they were back in Kate’s room. All of them breathed sighs of relief, and fell on the floor. “Oh, I am never messing up with magnets in my entire life, ever again.”
