Adventure Drama Friendship

It was 8:00 in the morning and I was packing my bag for the first day of school. Well since last year, but it still amazes me that I get so excited. I would be heading into sixth grade. Woah, last year in elementary. My mom dropped me off at the bus station and headed off to work. I think she was more nervous than I even was. I waited and waited for the bus. At the time I did not have a phone. Why? Well, ask my parents. What's that? The bus was finally here. The creaky doors opened and the bus driver greeted me. This was the best day ever. And it just started. What made it the best you ask, the back of the bus that normally everyone wanted to sit, had a spot. For me. I ran to the back of that bus. Not jogged or fast-walked, but RAN. Everyone thought I was crazy but who cares. I sat on my seat and looked around. What's that? A new girl.

" Hi. Are you new?" I asked.

" Yes, I am. My name is Pheobe." She responded.

" My name is Rachel. So Pheobe, what grade are you going into?" I questioned.

" The sixth." She stated.

" What? Me too. Maybe we are in the same class." I exclaimed.

" Maybe." She started pulling away from our conversation.

Over the next three days, she was very lenient when talking to me. I wondered why but never questioned it. She was not in my class. She was in 6C with Mrs. Marbles. One of the most strict teachers to be in the school. Well, she made it out but that being said the teacher made her cry one, or two, or maybe even three times. We started hanging out more and became friends. She was originally so lenient on being friends, because of all the rumors made up about me. Like I was mean and weird and a backstabber. When you first go to a school and hear that about a person you were hanging out with, that does make you question the person. So I do get where she was coming from. Time and time again passed. Then sooner or later we became best friends. It was only until the second year of knowing her I truly began to see her true and older colors. It was weird. Knowing this friendly girl who loves the color pink and unicorns, to this friendly tomboy girl who loves the color black and everything associated with death. Which I know not uncommon but weird when you have barely gotten to know a person and have to relearn everything prior. But we have now known each other for almost four years on September 3rd, 2021 at 8:16 am. When the bus came to pick me up. I know, I know I am weird for knowing the exact time. You're also probably asking, how did you know the time if you didn't have a phone? Well, I said I didn't have a phone, not Pheobe. I saw her lock screen with the time on it when I sat down.

Some also may be asking, how is your friendship now?

Well, it has flourished. There were many bumps and shoves, and even pushed along the way. There still will be, because that is life. But there were also many surprises and beautiful memories made along the way as well. Right now in my life, she is one of the most valuable people as of 2018 - 2021. Yes, mom and dad are involved there, but they don't understand. Ever. Especially my mom. But that doesn't mean I don't love them both. It's just different. You can't tell your parents everything. That is not how friendship works. Everybody knows that.

Here let's bring you with us on our March 19 2021 sleepover. When I first got there, and her mom invited me in. I walked around letting her show me her new house, as they just moved in. It was ten times bigger than their previous house. Her bedroom had this big sliding window, and a skateboard decored in it. We went back downstairs and were asked a troubling question. do you want to order Chinese food, or go out to a restaurant? I was the guest so I thought I would let Pheobe decide as I loved both options. But oh no, her mom insisted I chose. We ended up going out to Boston Pizza. It worked out as her mom and I ended up going to the grocery store for the needed items. I order Bug's and Cheese as I am still a child. Pheobe wanted a salad. But it Boston Pizza. So her mom made her rock paper scissor it out. If her mom won she would order a burger or steak. If she would have one then what she wanted. She didn't win. Not going to lie, I probably ate about one-fourth of her meal. It was good, and the steak. Cooked to perfection. Like I said before we went out grocery shopping after. I felt bad. It was late and Monica was getting tired. Monica was Pheobe's younger sister. Monica was 7. So when younger children get tired, they often get cranky and miss behave. Which is what happened. But we got home and unloaded the groceries. Then I and Pheobe chilled out for the rest of the night. Watched movies, ate snacks, played on our phones and played a game I had brought. What is essential in a girl sleepover? . . . . FACE MASKS!! We did a whole skincare routine that night. From facemasks to lotion/moisturizer. It was fun. Then we passed out on her bed listening to the sounds of The Nightmare Before Christmas. She needs background noise to sleep. This is fine by me because it was ten-thirty and I was ready to sleep on the ground. I know not the usual stay-up all-night sleepover but I hadn't gotten much sleep the night before. We woke up around

The days went on for many years and many more years to come. I wonder what the future holds? I guess we will never know.
