The thing was huge. I'd never seen one before. I was only sixteen and didn't really care for the likes of them. But I was gonna be married soon, and I wanted one last bit of freedom. This thing had it for me. Going to Ireland is where I'll stop. It was a large ship. Freshly painted in various blue and green hues. The sails were as white as snow. I stood, taking it all in, when the captain yelled for everyone to board. It was like taking my first steps again. Something felt wrong. Not knowing the outcome of the voyage frightened me. O didn't know what was in those waters I was now floating through. My gut told me to run. Quick jump off before the ship started moving away from my safety net. That this was a mans life. I didn't. I stayed on the swaying boat. I stayed to insure no one could tell me how to run my life, not even myself. I was foolish. Henry grabbed my hand as I stared at the deep blue water. I did love him. More than anything. My parents never approved because he wasn't a prince, or a lord, or a general. But they gave blessing to make me happy. Henry built things. He wasn't extremely rich, but I didn't mind.

"Are you okay, my love? You've been staring out at the sea for quite some time."

"I am. I was just thinking."

"Don't lose yourself and fall overboard. You never know what could be down there."

He smiled, and kissed my cheek. I smiled back as he walked away. As I was turning back, I saw something shimmer in the water. When I turned to the direction it came from, there was nothing. I noticed it was getting dark, and decided to go back to my cabin. The funny thing about the water, was that it was said to be cursed. But no one could believe in such silly antics. I turned and slicked, head down to the room, settling on the bed before slowly closing my eyes and drifting away for the second time today.

...

I was standing on a rock. But, I wasn't standing. I was sitting. The rock was under water, but I could breathe. I looked down and saw, not my legs, but a tail. It looked like someone replaced my bottom half with a fish tail. It was a pink/orange hue. I looked up and saw a ship. I swam upwards and peered towards side. There, I saw Henry. He was kissing a woman. A woman with black hair, and green eyes. He was holding a small boy. The boy had a round head, with plump cheeks, and hair like Henrys. Blonde. He had green eyes, which lead me to believe he was the woman's son. I started to hum a song. It sounded like a sad song, and I know I'd heard the tune from my mother, who sang this song to me as a child. I saw Henry stop, and stare into the ocean. He handed the boy to the woman, and went to a rowboat, ignoring everyone's calls. He lowered the boat, and started rowing in the direction of an island I had swam to. It had a rocky shore. I was perched up on a wide rock, still humming. He rowed my way, and got out of the boat, and onto the rock. I looked at his face. He always was a beautiful man. I got in the water, and he followed. I took his hand, and pulled him under. He swam down with me. When we were deep enough, we stopped. He touched my cheek, and he smiled. I stopped humming, and he was out of his trance. He shook his head a bit, before realizing where he was. He looked scared. His face started turning a shade of red when he started swimming up. But I was faster. I grabbed his hand, and held him there. I leaned into his ear and whispered the one word he did at our wedding other than 'I Do'

"Forever, remember?"

I pulled away and looked into his eyes. They were sad. They were scared. They were dead.

...

I awoke with a start, sweat beading on my forehead. Henry sat up beside me. I could see his lips moving but couldn't hear the words. I looked into his eye's, but only saw the lifelessness I'd seen moments ago in the depths of my mind. His cold hand grasped mine which only added to my fear, my feet moving off the bed and towards the door before my brain could comprehend my actions or the dream. I ran and ran until I made it to the top deck that was slick with water. A storm raged on above me, soaking both my nightgown and I. I looked towards the sky, lightnighing striking faraway places I couldn't see over the bustle of the crew and the giant waves I'd feared would tip us over. I stumbled as the boat shook, falling into the captain who grasped my shoulders.

"Ms.Danielson, you cannot be up here. It is too dangerous for you. Please go back to your cabin!" He yelled these words at me but I still didn't understand. I didn't know I'd started screaming until it mixed with the thunder, creating a roar I'd never heard even in my wildest dreams. I pushed the captain away, slipping and falling onto the railing, my top half hanging over the boat. Water slapped my face and waved dunked me in until I could no longer feel the railing. I was deep in the water, struggling against all odds, each new wave and current pulling me further down until I couldn't fight any longer. My body went limp as I sank further, all the air leaving my lungs, my chest and head feeling like they were about to explode. My vision started to go back, the last thing I caught a glimpse of

The storm above one last time. In my last moments, I know what my eyes looked like.
