You are running for your life. Your eyes darting left then right, not knowing what to do on such short notice. You then spot a location in the bushes and run in that direction.
Then before you can squat down behind a mulberry bush, the ground gives away, you find yourself freefalling in the dirt and earth, landing on solid underground.
Where you are exactly is not a sure fired answer for you are in complete and utter darkness. You feel for a light and find your flashlight, which is in your hand now all broken in a million pieces, that cuts your hand.
You think you have been bit by something in the dark when the darkness is filled with voices. The voices are speaking in various languages until they figure you are an English-speaking thing. You yell out for help, but your voice is hoarse from all the screaming.
Then one light, then two, then a thousand lights from every direction, are pointing in your face simultaneously. You feel a tug on your shirt collar. A thing about the size of an ant is right there in your face and you are about scream again, remembering you are somewhere, confined and unable to move.
"Greetings trapped human." The ant speaks to you. "You are in a very sacred area owned by the ants, for we are a underground dwelling species." "Oh, by the way, there are now about 1 trillion of us now deceased because you decided to land right in the middle of, what you above ground human species call, Times Square, is where we go to offer our thanks on, what you human giants call, Thanksgiving."
I am amazed at the ability to understand what they are saying. I am wondering if this is the idea that my specialist was mentioning to me about my fortune cookie saying, "You will have an adventure that will end suddenly." Yeah, Dr. Lais was never so direct in his predictions before today.
I was feeling faint from the heat, when I was very bluntly told that I was near the Earth's inner core. The heat was becoming unbearable, and I was starting to panic. The ant creature, known only as Spurtz and his brother Spatz, were climbing up the right side of my face, eventually entering my right ear.
I could feel the tickle of them as they made the way down my inner ear and were then in my head, way deep inside my area of the brain that was the control center. I kept hearing them talking and I was not able to make out the words or even the whispers.
The defense system in my body heading towards them to defend itself against foreign objects, hurried to remove these invaders and then all I heard was distant screams coming from the two. They surely had great lungs.
The ants were now approaching the clothes on my body, clinging to the fabric, wanting to attack me, and they would have succeeded. My clothes inside the dirt filled part was eating at my clothes quickly.
Spatz jumped upon my shoulder once more, followed by Spurtz, who were determined to arrive again in an area they could live with and stay alive without being thrown out. Spurtz was not happy with this first invasion, and they both would need to take me to their queen before the next shaking.
I was not ready to meet a queen, much less I was not appropriately dressed for the occasion. In an instant, I was clothed with silkworms finest. Yes, fit for, you guessed it, to meet a queen. Oh, how darling it was to see myself, but I was not able to move. until the ants removed more dirt away, so I was freer to move.
I was being moved down further, the light shining in my face was less visible. I tried to see where I was being taken. Then a whole area of Earth opened into a large tunnel, the size of a New York subway tunnel. I was thrown over the end and felt the hard concrete stop my fall. This time it was rats, and they came out to see who was paying them a visit.
The rats were now gathered around me, trying to see if I was friend or foe. The one who spoke directly, was the largest rat and it was speaking once more like the ants had, in various languages before they smelled pizza on my breath. Jorgo, was not amused. He was deciding to find out what I was and what dialect I spoke in.
I yelled out, "Why don't you get off of me, you filthy beast, before I slap you silly." Jorgo was now laughing. "Are you kidding me", sneering at the thought of me slapping him along with the other rats who were present there.
Jorgo continued. "You do realize the only way we have become diseased ridden and filled with hatred for you humanzzzzzzzz, is that you no longer allow us to live above ground." "We are not sure how to take it, now that you have invaded our space, and you may not like this, but we don't like you either, maybe more so."
Here I was treated like the enemy. I did not deserve this, neither did they. I was thinking, "How did we no longer tolerate each other's presence and were ready to write each other off as invaders." "Why can't we all get along?"
Jorgo smiled at me, looking into one open eye then the other. He mentioned more. "You know why this has become a battle of wits and has made one despise the other?" I shook my head in reply. Jorgo was not going to tell me because then he would be placed in a rat trap for sharing secrets that were only known to rats. I sighed and was still scared to find out.
The Earth shook once more. I was then being hoisted up to the above ground street, that had been left in ruins by the earthquake. It was like a dream and yet I do not remember falling asleep or passing out.
Ah to be back in the real world, with all the noises and smells. Jorgo was there. He too wanted to see what the commotion and noise was all about.
It was then that he was about to reveal the secret that was not even a secret. But before Jorgo was able to share it with me, a very large black cat ran towards him, swatting him up in the air. With a loud thud, Jorgo was laying still, and he was now the play toy for the cat.
See how vivid my dreams can be without me sharing too many details. Yes, I know sometimes they make no sense at all, not even to me, myself and I.
Bummer.
