A Bad Idea

“I am not doing that you must be out of your damn mind if you expect me to do that” Aaron angrily said.

“Dude you know how the game goes what I say you have to do that's the rules Iv done all the stupid crazy stuff you dared me to do.” John fired back 

“This is different than daring you to Snapchat your crush or lick the dirt this could seriously get me in trouble” Aaron worriedly exclaimed

“Bro come on that's the one rule of the game you do what the dare says or you have to shave your head and I know you pride yourself off those locks you have so shave your head or do the dare,” John said 

“Are you kidding me you really are gonna be like that” Aaron said 

“Rules are rules,” John said 

“That's messed up bro” 

“Don't be like that it's not even that big a deal nothing will happen” 

“Ummmm what do expect obviously I am going to be like that I don't want to get kicked out of school my mom would legit murder me bro.”

“You will not get in trouble the fire alarm in the history hallway doesn't even have cameras around it you will not get in trouble everyone will think it a drill and in a day they will forget about it” John reasoned 

“ Dude still though I do not want to get in trouble”

“Come on you won't and you will be the legend that got away with it”

“If I don't I have to shave my head ?”

“Correct”

“Whatever you won't let me live this down so Ill do it next week”

“What day?”

“Why does it matter sometime next week”

“Do it Friday it's going to be 80 degrees sometime to chill outside”

“Are you kidding me right now”

“Don't be so salty get over it and just do it not a big deal and you have the weekend no one will know it's you”

“Whatever Friday it is” 

The boys headed back to their houses putting their game on a pause until The weekend rolled around and it was Monday. John and Aaron were in their sophomore health class working on their group project. Aaron had four more days until he had to do the dare. The countdown was on. Tuesday rolled around then Wednesday, and Thursday until it was Friday. The day of the action. The pressure was on.  Friday morning crept up on Aaron faster than he thought. How will he execute this? What happens if they find out he did it? Questions upon questions flood his mind with no answer that could ease the anxiety that is taking over his mind. Aaron got out of bed, brushed his teeth, threw on a grey Nike t-shirt, his black gym shorts and threw a sweatshirt in his bag so he could put on a “disguise”. Running down the stairs to catch the bus he grabbed a granola bar and headed out the door just making it to the bus. 

“Todays the day big boy,” John said grabbing Aarons shoulders, shaking him

“Dude come on, I am nervous as heck” Aaron worried replied 

“There is legit nothing to worry about here's the plan, during the fifth period we have history, on the way to class when the hallways are pretty busy Ill do a lookout and give you the go-to pull it. When you pull it like the rest of us we will run into class, get in line and head outside like nothing even happened.” John explained 

“For real?”

“Duh dude easy peasy I'll be right there when you do it, you are going to be a legend bro”

The boys got off the bus and went into school, first period then second, third, and fourth went by fast. It was almost time. Five minutes left of class Aaron was shaking, he was getting nervous. He felt like Tom Brady right before the Superbowl, minus the pressure to win another ring and championship for one of the best teams in the league, nervous like you are about to do something that could result in criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, $3,000 fine, community service and most likely a suspension. No big deal right? Better than shaving his head. The fifth period approached fast, Aaron threw on his sweatshirt and approached the history hallway. John was in plain sight, he migrated towards him. John gave him the look and it went time. Aaron reached up and pulled the alarm. They ran into class along with the other students all in a relaxed panic, figuring it was just a drill. The teacher headed out towards the door along with the rest of the school and they all lined up and went through the protocol. 

“Dude see easy peasy bro what a legend I can not believe you went through with this” John said whispering

“I guess dude I just do not want to get in trouble, what if they know it's me” Aaron concerned said 

“Do not even worry about it, it is not a big deal like no one will suspect this”

The principal and firefighters came out and yelled “The building is safe to go back in please proceed to the fifth period”

The school headed back in, the boys went to their history class and suffered through the rest of the period. Noone brought up what just happened. Maybe they thought it was a drill? Aaron thought he was in the clear, he felt a weight lift from his shoulders. He felt like a king. Sixth and then seventh last period rolled around. He left school and headed straight to John's house. The boys were hanging out in John's room playing Xbox when John's Dad walked in. 

“What happened at school today, the school just sent a mass email about a suspicious fire alarm today, and that if you have any information on it please tell the school ASAP.” John's dad explained

“Nah dad I don't know we just had a fire drill or something someone pulled it but I don't know who it was” John replied 

“Yeah pretty much “ Aaron added in with a shaky voice

“The email said it happened in a hallway that does not have cameras so they can't even look back, and since it occurred during a passing period it was too hard to account for the students in the surrounding classroom.”

“Yeah dad kinda crazy” John added as his father left the room.

The boys continued on their game with no word of what went down, they really were about to get away with executing this.
