Super Hero for the Day

Freddy and his sister Ella were playing outside one early evening and Freddy happened to look up at the sky and see a shooting star. Freddy closed his eyes and made a wish. Freddy opened his eyes and he was still a young boy. He was disappointed. All of a sudden his mother calls for them to come inside to get ready for bed. Freddy grabbed Ella's hand and they walked inside for the night.

Freddy dragged his feet up the stairs. He finally reached his bedroom and plopped on the bed. Freddy stared at the ceiling. Next he got up, to get his pajamas. Put his pajamas on. All of a sudden he started hearing voices. Puzzled he went out of his room and asked his mother if she had hollered for him. She replied, "No, Goodnight." Still puzzled he tried to shake it off.

Freddy got into his cozy bed. Fell asleep. In the middle of the night he felt a sneeze coming on. AHHH-CHOOO! Freddy's mouth felt hot and smoky. Shrugged it off. Then he felt something wet drip onto his nose. He opened his eyes and saw that there wasn't a roof anymore! IT'S GONE! Freddy was concerned and tried to force himself to sneeze again. He tried but it didn't work. A real sneeze was about to happen, he could feel it. AHHHH-CCHOOOOO! and fire came out of his mouth.

At this point in time Freddy finally put two and two together. He had superpowers! Freddy was ecstatic! Now, he just needed to figure out all of his superpowers and how to control them. Freddy decided to go downstairs to get a glass of water. While walking toward the stairs he didn't feel his feet touching the floor.

He looked down and he was hoovering above the floor! He was flying. Freddy started flying all over the house. Flying loopy loops, upside down, and in a zigzag pattern. After getting bored with flying he went to get his glass of water. Next he flew up to his bedroom and went back to sleep.

Several hours later Freddy's alarm went off. He stretched his arms. His mother popped her head into his room and asked him to get ready because they were going to the store. Freddy got dressed and then was on his way to the car.

Finally they reached the parking lot of the store. His mother got out of the car with her purse in tow. Freddy got out. All of sudden this guy came out of NO where and was trying to mug his mother! Freddy got angry and pushed the guy. He pushed the guy and the guy went flying. He went through the building and the next one and the next one. At first Freddy was shocked. He has super strength. He was ecstatic.

His mother on the other hand was freaking out. Freddy tried to calm her down. She was finally stop hyperventilating. Freddy told her, "Mom it's ok, I have super powers!" Next his mother fainted. She finally recovered. So after making a big scene they decided to get in the car and go home, fast.

After they got home they both went to the kitchen to talk about it. They decided to to keep it on the DL. Around this time it was late afternoon. Freddy decided to go upstairs to go his homework. Sitting at his desk in his room he took out his math homework. He looked at it Algebra. He started tapping his pencil on his desk. He took a second look and it all started to make sense! He had been struggling in this class since September. But now it make sense. He finished it in five minutes of less. Next he felt the energy and the voices came back. This time he ran downstairs and sat at the table. It was supper time. He ate supper and his mother was keeping a close eye on him. Due to the incident earlier that day.

After supper he decided to get ready for bed. Kneel in front of his bed and prayed, "Dear God, Please let me keep my super powers and use them for good." Freddy got into bed and fell asleep.

While sleeping he had a wonderful dream about beating up bad guys and monsters. Monsters that were tall as the tallest skyscraper. He would use his super strength, and super brain power to out smart them. Then lock them up.

Then he started to dream about the incident earlier at the store from the day before. I felt so awesome and accomplished. Brave. He was a super hero and no one could disagree. He had super hero dream one after the other all throughout the night.

The sun was peeking through his window blinds. Freddy pulled his comforter over his head. Next he sat up in his bed. Staring at the ceiling he was caught off guard when his mother came into his room. Startled by her sitting on his bed next to him. He looked at her then back at the window. His mother asked, "Would you like your window open?" He replied, "Yes." His mother got up from the bed and pulled the blinds up. Opened the window a crack so the fresh air will pour in. Freddy took a deep breath in. Fresh spring air. His mother went to the other side of his bed and checked his vitals and tubes. Freddy stares straight ahead at the wall. His mother asked, " Are you ready for your medicine?" Freddy stated, "Never been so ready for anything," with a smirk on his face.

His mother takes out his medicine and sorts his medicine out accordingly. He takes it from her and drinks his water, and swallows hard. Almost causing him to choke. Causing his mother to be concerned. Finally catching his breath he calmed his worried mother down. His mother then sat next to him again. While an awkward silence grew between them.

She starts to say something but doesn't really know how to go about it. "You know when you were little and were first diagnosed with cancer. I tried my best to be strong and brave for you. However, I feel like you were the strong and brave one, not me." As she started to tear up. Freddy said, "Mom this isn't necessary." She waited for a minute and continued. "Even though you have cancer I tried my best to give you the best life possible. I didn't want to treat you any different because of it." Freddy chimed in, "Mom you gave Ella and me the best life I could ever ask for. With the situation we were in. You gave me everything I could ask for. Love, Compassion, Patience, Strength, and Courage. All when I needed it the most. You are the best part in my life, and Ella of course."

Ella peeked in the doorway to see what was going on. Freddy grabbed for his mother's hand. They sat there for a couple quiet minutes. With love, strength, and happiness. After a couple more minutes, his mother got up and walked towards the door. Then she walked out the door and closed. Then fell to her knees and balled. Ella went over to her mother and gave her a hug. In attempt to make her to stop crying. "Mommy, what's wrong?" asked, Ella. "Nothing sweetie." replied, her mother. Ella decided to go downstairs. As their mother just sat by the door quietly listening to the heart monitor. Beep Beep. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPP. She started to ball again then gained the courage to go into Freddy's room to turn off the machine, and called his doctor. As she calls the doctor he answers and she replies, "He's in Heaven now."
