` Ivy was a motivational speaker, but she wanted to do more with her life. All she did every day was wake up, go to the venue, and speak about something. All of her speeches were the same. "Do you have this issue? Well do this, and believe in yourself. Please buy my book." So boring, and so repetitive. She just wanted change. So she started a business. This business was to help people forget about there old, boring, miserable lives, and help them create a new one.
She posted an ad online, and waited. About three days later she had her first client. His name was Theo. He was a tall and lean. He had sleek black hair, and soft grey eyes. Ivy immediately picks up the phone and dials his number. "Hello, Theo. I'm Ivy Weathers. I see that you submitted an application for my new program, Morte." she says in a cheery voice. Theo nods even though he knows she can't him. "Yes, hello Ivy. I need your help." he says in a low gruff voice. Ivy is becoming curious about what he is escaping from, but she knows that isn't something they should talk about over the phone. "On your application it says you live in Boston. I live about 2 hours away from there. Give me about 2 hours and a place to meet, and I'll be there." Theo says they can meet at a nearby coffee shop, and then promptly hangs up.
As soon as Theo hangs up Ivy begins packing. She doesn't know how long she will be gone so she pack enough baggage for a month. She finishes packing, and walks to her small, yellow, Volkswagen. She puts her key in the ignition, and steps on the pedal. She begins driving on the interstate.
She enters boston, and begins looking for the shop. She turns a corner, and spies a quaint coffee shop. She slows down and pulls over next to it. She exits her car, and enters the shop. A little bell dings to announce her arrival. She slows down at the door, and scans the room. She spies Theo sitting at a table in the far right corner. He waves her over.
Ivy puts on her best smile, and sits across from him. "Hello," She says. He puts on a smile, well more of a grimace, and gives a small wave. As soon as he gets settled she jumps right in. "So Theo, before we can configure your plan, I need to know what happened to make you change direction." Theo's face acquires an uncomfortable look, but then give a small nod.
"I guess it began when my wife left me." Ivy groans internally. So cliche. "Then I lost my Job." Again cliche. "and then I lost custody of my daughter." Ivy couldn't take it anymore, and speaks up. "Are you really that cliche." Theo's face turn to a look of offense. "Come on." She says while standing up. "I know how to begin your journey." He stands up and begins to follow her.
They keep walking for about ten minutes. "Where the hell are we going?" Theo yells. "You'll see." Ivy replies. She slows as they near an abandoned field. "Over here." She says. He gives her a confused look, but then followed her. "Now close your eyes and look up." Theo follows these instructions. He's standing there for about 2 minutes. "Ok something is about to happen, Ready." Ivy says. Theo nods right before he feels a sharp pain in his lower abdomen. "Why would you do that?" He yells before falling over. "Theo you were destined to become, an old drunk who spends everyday on his couch drowning in sweat. I'm doing the world a favor." Theo looks appalled for a moment, but then nods his head, and promptly passes out. Ivy walks over to him pulls out his wallet and pocketed it. "Don't give me that look, you didn't pay me."
A few weeks after the police discovered the body. Ivy was at home and watch her brand new 6 foot flat screen tv. "Man," she says. "Theo was rich." She's surfing through channel when she comes to a new repore. "27 year old man stabbed in a field. All possessions missing. If you have any information on who could have done this please call-" Ivy switches the channel and continues watching The Bachelor.
A few hours later she hears a harsh knocking on her door. She stands up, clicks pause on the tv, and starts towards the door. She peers through the peephole. There are 3 policeman standing on the other side. She undo's the locks, but leaves the chain on. "Hello," She says cautiously. "Hello miss." one of them answers back. "We would like to talk to you about a recent murder." another continues. Ivy tries to think of a way to stop them. "Identification please." They all pull out there badges and then push their way in. They took one look in, and then begin to drag her out. "What no you can't take me!" She yells. The police hold up a plastic baggy with a bloody knife in it. Ivy begins to stutter. "Wha-What that's not mine. No wait I meant that's jam. Wait-" they cut her off and begin to read her, her rights.
When they arrive at the police office they go into the interrogation room. "Hello, my name is officer Andrews." A medium sized gruff looking officer walked in. Ivy waves. "Did you kill Theo weathers? he said bluntly. Ivy just nods. Officer Andrews looks taken off guard, and pushes up his glasses. "Umm, can you tell me why you did it." He said cautiously. "Yes I can. He was dumped by his wife, fired from his job, and had his kid taken away from him." The officer looks shocked, and then nods. He walks over to the door, and discuss something with the other officers. He comes back in and starts unlocking the handcuff. "What are you doing?" Ivy question. All the officer says is "You made the right call," before walking out of the room.
