Adventure Fantasy Fiction

it had been a week since Kavya's mother passed away. her relationship was never good with her father as if it only existed because of her mother. she was hence coping up with the trauma of her mother's passing away for 6 days now, that too all alone.

she was lying on the bed doing nothing, while tears slipped along her cheek skin. she sat up on the bed and wiped her tears off her face. she kept thinking about the thing that her mother told her just one day before her demise. she told her to check her cupboard. it had been 6 days to that and she was just afraid to look into her cupboard. now she mustered all her courage and stood up, walked towards the cupboard, opened it. she instantly noticed a red velvet box. the box was so catchy that too exactly sitting opposite to her eyes.

she took out the box and walked back to her bed, she sat down kept the box in front of her and sighed lightly. she had mixed feelings, she was curious as well as way to fragile emotionally. but she planned to finally open the box and so she did. as soo as she opened it she saw a folded note kept in their and beside it was a beautiful white pendent, it was a white marble sphere.

she was amazed after seeing the pendent, she picked it up and kept it on the bed while picking up the note...

" honey I know what i'm going to tell you will be scary, but you need to trust me on this one. i sense myself leaving, i know by the time you will get it, i'll be far gone. the pendent is not a normal one, it makes one think and see beyond the empirical world. i want you to see for yourself how that world works."

her eyes were wide open, it was as if she was just frozen in one place, didn't move didn't even twitch a muscle. she was in utter awe.

she picked up the pendent hesitantly and wore it around her neck.

abruptly a scene appeared in front of her eyes, at first it came on like moving flashes but after 2 times it because clear as glass. she was not in her room, it was like she teleported from her room to a hell hole, so many huge trees surrounded with only darkness and aurora. she saw a deer pass through, evidently even the deer wasn't a normal one. it was all skeleton with dripping bloody eyes, utter bark eyeballs with horns that seemed like devil's handles. she moved ahead through those colossal woods, she kept going until she stopped and stared ahead. it was her mom, standing right there looking at her.

she held her pendent, pulled it off her neck and threw it harshly on the floor, it was like she had just woken up from a dream. her eyes were wide open, breathing as heavy as metal. the fear was quite visible on her face. for the next few minutes she kept staring straight at the pendent in disbelief. now she knew that beyond the empirical meant the world of the dead. her mother received signals about the happenings.

now she stood up and again after building up the courage, she walked towards the pendent and picked it up, she again opened the portal. went to her mother...

"hello honey, i know it has been a lot, but remember here views an be deceiving. don't you speak a word to someone, it can cause a lot of harm. i gave you the pendent so you could visit me. but dont come here very often, it is possible that u may take a spirit home. don't mess with the balance of the nature. i love you."

her mother disappeared. she was curious to know what else was there in the portal. she kept moving forward.

she could hear some whispers, they were blur at start but as she moved along it became clearer. "go away! save yourself ... save yourself from your mother. she isn't real... it is a deception." she removed the pendent immediately.

she saw her dad staring at her. just as soon as she was going to explain herself, he spoke up... "don't, this isn't real. she is not your mother. don't ever go back there. she was possessed before she died, don't let the spirit take control of you again."

he took the pendent from Kavya's hand and threw it on the floor, smashed it so hard that it broke. he swiftly looked up as he saw Kavya chuckling, "oh Arun, you poor piece of shit, Kavya is gone now, forever. she is in the portal with her mother. now i am back in your life in the form of your daughter. now i know you won't kill Kavya like you did to your wife. Kavya is far more precious."

now Arun knew that he had lost his family and was stuck with a spirit forever. he killed his wide to get rid of it but now she was back with Kavya. the spirit wont let him kill her own daughter.

" that's right, you didn't even think about telling telling her the truth did you, my daughter still doesn't now that i'm her real mother and you, her father killed me. after marrying Aradhana, you still didnt tell her the truth and then you killed her too. you are going to pay for this, yes you will have to pay for this." Arun now accepted his fate and calmly closed his eyes and went down on his knees while Kavya stabbed him in his chest and manually removed his heart from his body. she then took the pieces of the marble pendent and kept them on his still beating heart and burnt it. at it kept burning, she faded away steadily and Arun lay there dead with a puddle of blood around him.
