Creative Nonfiction Drama Thriller

Before starting the story, i want to ask you a question. What does homeless people need? Most of yours answer will be money, food, home and clothes .But you know what? they don't need these stuffs and they need something more expensive. Are you curious to know what they really need? Than come with me in a short journey in ROHAN's life

Rohan is a homeless from USA living in street. He was really depressed and always alone. While knowing about Rohan, I came to know that he was there from 3 months. While knowing about Rohan, I came to know that he was there from last few months. He used to get help from homeless shelter . In between the busy life of USA Rohan was alone and was seen calm but sad.

Rohan used to look as a person with a great story and I took a large pizza box near him and offered the whole box but he denied to take it and asked me if i could sit with him and talk for a while .When I listened his request with a innocent voice ,i wasn't able to deny his request and sat with him .While listening to him he sounded depressed and was in a great mental pain .He said that when he was a teen he was alone and lost everything because of this loneliness. he told me,"i am just a piece of cane whom nobody notices". While talking to him i knew what people did to him and how he came to be a homeless. He was tortured, physically hurt but nobody noticed his pain . Everybody was so busy that nobody even noticed him . He used to get enough food but nobody gave him their minutes(time) ,he used to get money but never got a friend to spend the money with,he got clothes but never got a person to say how he was looking while wearing that cloth. . Sadly,He was depressed and fighting with some mental problems which might have been prevented if the world had time for him.

From Rohan i knew that being alone in a crowded city was really depressing .He was surrounded with thousands but never got time from one. He made me realise how busy i was in my own world and if i could interact with people like Rohan i could have saved thousands of people with mental issues like him.

Depression is the common cold of mental disorders — most people will be affected by depression in their lives either directly or indirectly, through a friend or family member. Confusion about depression is commonplace, e.g., with regard to what depression exactly is and what makes it different from just feeling down.

There is also confusion surrounding the many types of depression that people experience — unipolar depression, biological depression, manic depression, seasonal affective disorder, dysthymia, etc. There have been so many terms used to describe this set of feelings we’ve all felt at one time or another in our lives, it may be difficult to understand the difference between just being blue and having clinical depression.

Depression is characterized by a number of common symptoms. These include a persistent sad, anxious, or “empty” mood, and feelings of hopelessness or pessimism that lasts nearly every day, for weeks on end. A person who is depressed also often has feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and helplessness. They no longer take interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities that were once enjoyed; this may include things like going out with friends or even sex. Insomnia, early-morning awakening, and oversleeping are all common.

These feelings aren’t just a passing mood that goes away in a few days on its own. Instead, they stay with a person for weeks on end (at least two weeks, in order it to be diagnosed). The symptoms of depression don’t just develop out of the blue, either. They usually come on a person over the course of several weeks, a little bit at a time. It can be insidious in the subtle way that depression starts to overtake a person’s life. Some people even suffer for months from mild symptoms before it becomes full-blown depression.

Appetite and/or weight loss or overeating and weight gain may be symptoms of depression in some people. Many others experience decreased energy, fatigue, and a constant feeling of being “slowed down.” Thoughts of death or suicide are not uncommon in those suffering from severe depression. Restlessness and irritability among those who have depression is common. A person who is depressed also has difficulty concentrating, remembering, and trouble making decisions. And sometimes, persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to traditional treatments — such as headaches, digestive disorders, and chronic pain — may be signs of a depressive illness.Feeling down or feeling like you’ve got the blues is pretty common in today’s fast-paced society. People are more stressed than ever, working longer hours than ever, for less pay than ever. It is therefore natural to not feel 100% some days. That’s completely normal.Depression is a severe disorder, and one that can often go undetected in some people’s lives because it can creep up on you. Depression doesn’t need to strike all at once; it can be a gradual and nearly unnoticeable withdrawal from your active life and enjoyment of living. Or it can be caused by a clear event, such as the breakup of a long-term relationship, a divorce, family problems, etc. Finding and understanding the causes of depression isn’t nearly as important as getting appropriate and effective treatment for it.n the most severe and chronic cases of depression, treatment may also include electroconvulsive therapy or hospitalization. You should talk to your mental health professional about the pros and cons of these kinds of treatments, as they may carry longer-term side effects.

Did you realised what they want ? if you didn't then let me tell you homeless people want your time. Not hours only few minutes. I request you all to manage your minutes and talk to them and i ensure you will find a next level satisfaction as i found. Sadly thousands of people suffer from depression ever year and it is not even addressed in a level as other problems are addressed.

thank you

Hi there, Your piece is well defined and you bring up some very salient points about the homeless and the problems they face. I struggled with the lack of proper punctuation, spacing, and capitalization. I'm reasonably sure part of the issues arise from the fact that English isn't your first language, so I suggest you work on English grammar. Just a few techniques I think you could use to take your writing to the next level: READ the piece OUT LOUD. You will be amazed at the errors you will find as you read. You will be able to ...
