Harriet gazed deeply into Joanna's dark brown eyes and leant in to whisper in her ear. "Your stupid you know that. That's why I love you." She lent in to rest her forehead on joanna's soft lips when the bomb went off. They just needed more time to love.
"You know what why don't I just kill myself won't that make everyone happier? Wouldn't that make your day?!" Fiona yelled across the room, smashing her beer bottle on the floor. Timothy, her teenage son, cowered in the corner of the room. He was crying for the third time that day when the bomb went off. She just needed guidance. He just needed safety.
May was lying down, reading. Investing all of her thoughts and emotions into the love confession spread out on the page. Tears flowing as the main character was rejected. She was feeling stupid when the bomb went off. She just needed someone.
Alex was just walking in the doors of their apartment after going over to a cafe. The smell of baked goods made their mouth water as they shut the door. Their dog Maxum leapt over and shoved his nose into the paper bag. Alex was laughing hard and trying to pull him back. Texts coming in from his ex-best friend that they were trying to ignore when the bomb went off. They just needed time to be happy.
"Kaitlen, were not meant for each other," Ethan spoke softly as he looked at the floor, diverting his eyes from the pain in her's.
"You could have broken up with me before you cheated!" Kaitlen stormed out of the room as Ethan sat down on his lounge. He didn't remember when he fell out of love with her, but he had. he still wanted to talk to her. He was regretting ever hurting her when the bomb went off. She just needed trust. He just needed to change.
Mia was sitting in blood. the tiles letting the water flow it down there cracks into the shower drain. "Don't be so stupid mia. You're always like this. You just want attention you stupid stupid stupid." The barcode-like marks were dyeing the water as it flowed over here thighs. Her hand was shaking as she clutched the razorblade The water was washing it clean when the bomb went off. She just needed help. Just for someone to notice. Just something.
Just anything.
Just.
What if they all could just turn back time?
Harriet would turn it back in high school to when she first fell for Joanna. She never acted on it because she was too afraid. Too unsure on what would happen, if Joanna would like her back. If her friends would be ok with her sexuality. But she wished she did. She wished she could have as much time with Joanna as she could have. She didn't just want time to love, she wanted time for experience for emotions for Joanna.
Joanna would go back to when she first thought she could be queer. She never wanted to accept that about herself so she spent so much time dissagreeing with herself that she never noticed her feelings for Harriet. She didn't want to just have time to love Harriet. She needed time to love and accept herself. To be who she is.
Fiona to before she got in the habit of drinking. She hated how it made her and how it made her treat her son. She really did love Timothy but the withdrawals everytime she tried to stop always made her come back more addicted. She wished she never started so she never had to stop. She didn't just need guidance. She needed encouragement care and change. She needed her love to be stronger than the addiction.
Timothy would go back that point aswell. He wished he could convince her to get some help while she was still sane most of the time. He knew it wasn't his foalt that she was like this, but he couldn't help thinking that he could have done something to fix it. He didn't just need safety, He neededtime to be with himself and realise what his mother was like wasn't his fault. He needed a mother whos love overpowered her withdrawals.
May would turn back time to her first year at university when she had a crush that liked her back. She was too invested in other worlds than her own. She wished she had acted on her feelings before he moved on and she was left. Alone. She didn't just need someone. She needed the courage to act, the strength to tell someone how she felt ond to beable to withstand it if they didn't feel the same. She needed reasurence that she could be enough for someone.
For Alex, they would go to before they had a stupid fight with their friend. No. Before they ever made that friend. The Asshole who rejected their identity no mater what they did. They were just themselves but they couldn't stop feeling like they were fake. They struggled to accept themselves because of this friend but they clung on anyways. They wished they never had that person in there life that made them feel that way. They didn't just need time to be happy. They needed the strength to get out of a bad relationship. They needed to love and accept themselves. They needed oters in their lives who would love and accept them.
Kaitlen to when she noticed that her and Ethan fell out of love. She wouldn't have to be that hurt. She wished she could have broken up with him when she stoped having those feelings. She wished they could stay friends. She wished she didn't feel like it was her fault. She didn't just need trust, she needed courage. She needed to know that someone else's mistakes wheren't her's.
Ethan would turn it back to before he cheated. He could have stayed friends with Kaitlen if he didn't hurt her. he was just scaird to break her if she loved him. He wished he wasn't that entitled to think he was a gift to her. He loved her. He needed her in his life. Not as a partner, but as a friend. He didn't just need to change, he needed the streanth to be able to. He needed to trust himself. He needed to know what to choose and the ability to make that choice.
Mia would go back to when she first felt depressed. She could tell someone. Anywone. Get help before it got so bad that she was embarrassed to. To feel comfortable inthat space without being scaird of being shamed. She wished she never let herself become like that. To not get adicted to the distraction, instead to get used to the help. She didn't just need help, for someone to notice. She needed that strength for herself. She needed to know when she needed that help and to let herself be helped.
No one needs just anything. They're worth more than that.

What a unique approach to a very challenging prompt! Well done, and a good message in the end, as well! I do wish I knew what happened after the bomb, though ;)

Thank you! Your comment means a lot :) I wrote that when I was in serious writing block but I pushed through so it's not my favourite piece of writing that I've done. I tried though haha.
