Romance Fantasy Fiction

Once Upon Time,

In a forest of willows there was a young Forest faerie, last of her kin. Protected by the mother willow. The young faerie named Bláthnaid. She runs (and humming) with the forest animals, animals you'll only find within this forest of willow. As she gets closer to the forest border she runs faster, but never leaves, she trips over a tree root and rips the skin on her knees and palms of her hands. Her eyes fill with tears as her animal friends run from her.

"(1)An bhfuil tú ceart go leor?" A boy asks Bláthnaid, blushing and kneeling next to her petite body, but she scoots away not knowing what to do. "(2)Cad es ainm duit?" The boy asks, looking away from her petite nude body. She looks at him fearful, not knowing what to say. The boy looks at her tilting his head to the side "(3)An bhfuil Gaeilge agat?" He looks into her emerald green eyes with his honey brown ones and smiles sweetly at her, and hovers his hands above her knees and hands and mutters something and then his hands start to glow and her wounds start to heal. "(4)Tá gach aon rud socair" The boy smiles. “(5)Is ainm dom

Cillian ar an mbealach, feadh an bhóthair” The boy stands up and puts his hand out for her to help her up and off the ground.  Bláthnaid’s eyes fill with tears and she jumps up and slams her body against his and sods.

“(6)níor chabhraigh aon duine riamh liom roimhe seo!” She was shaking in Cillian’s arms. Cillian was blushing at the fact Bláthnaid’s petite nude body was pressed up against his body. She looked up into his eyes “(7)Is mise Bláthnaid, iníon na saileach.” she says. Cillian watches her as she lets go of him and walks to a pond and sits beside it with her feet in the pond. “(8) Cad atá tú, Cillian?” Bláthnaid pats the ground beside her.

“(9)Céard atá i gceist agat, is daoine daonna muid beirt.” Cillian tilts his head and looks at the red haired girl confused.

“(10)Cad is duine ann? Is faerie Foraoise mé” the boy looks at her in shock.

“(11)Faerie Foraoise?” Cillian asked “(12)Cad is Faerie Foraoise ann?” Bláthnaid giggles,

“(13)Tá mé!” She looked at Cillian smiling her emerald like eyes glowed with happiness and excitement.

Over the last 14 years Cillian and Bláthnaid became very close and fell in love. Mother Willow wasn’t too keen on Cillian, but soon she came to trust him with Bláthnaid. Cillian learned more about magic, and Bláthnaid learned why for the first few years Cillian was always blushing.

“(14)Bláthnaid an bhféadfá canadh liom, is breá liom é nuair a chanann tú.” Cillian asked from Bláthnaid’s lap.

“(15)Cén fáth, níl mé chomh maith sin.” Bláthnaid says looking at Cillian with eyes filled with love.

“(16)Tá tú iontach, níos fearr ná na cailíní eile sa sráidbhaile.” Cillian says looking up at her “(17)Le do thoil?” She sighed

“(18)breá,” She said “(19)Ach, ná a dhéanamh spraoi de dom” Bláthnaid looks at Cillian sternly, but he just laughed.

“(20)Ní bheidh mé, Geall.” He smiles.

“A 'níon mhín ó, sin anall na fir shúirí

A mháithairin mhín ó, cuir na roithléan go dtí mé” she started, softly to Cillian.

“Dúlamán na binne buí, dúlamán Gaelach

Dúlamán na farraige, be'fhearr a bhí in Éirinn” She sings louder smiling at Cillian as her eyes glow with happiness. To Cillian this was his favorite  sight.

“Tá ceann buí óir are an dúlamán gaelach

Tá dhá chluais mhaol are an dúlamán maorach” Cillian starts to hum along.

“Bróga breaca dubha are an dúlamán gaelach

Tá bearéad agus triús are an dúlamán maorach

Góide a thug na tíre thú? arsa an dúlamán gaelach

Ag súirí le do níon, arsa an dúlamán maorach

Rachaimid chun Niúir leis an dúlamán gaelach

Ceannóimid bróga daora are an dúlamán maorach

Ó chuir mé scéala chuici, go gceannóinn cíor dí

'Sé'n scéal a chuir sí chugam, go raibh a ceann cíortha

Cha bhfaigheann tú mo 'níon, arsa an dúlamán gaelach

Bheul, fuadóidh mé liom í, arsa an dúlamán maorach

Dúlamán na binne buí, dúlamán Gaelach

Dúlamán na binne buí, dúlamán Gaelach

Dúlamán na farraige, be'fhearr a bhí, be'fhearr a bhí

Dúlamán na binne buí, dúlamán Gaelach

Dúlamán na farraige, be'fhearr a bhí, be'fhearr a bhí

Be'fhearr a bhí in Éirinn '' as she ends the song she hears soft snoring and smiles at Cillians sleeping form. “(21)Is breá liom tú Cillian, níos mó ná a fhios agat” She kisses his forehead and falls asleep next to him.

(The Song)

Oh sweet girl, here come the courting men

Gentle mother oh, send the reels to me

Yellowfin seaweed, Irish seaweed

Seaweed, the best in Ireland

The Irish seaweed has a golden yellow head

The stately seaweed has two bald ears

Irish seaweed has black striped shoes

You have a beret and a trio of stately seaweed

What did the country give you?

said the Irish seaweed

Flirting with your daughter, says the majestic seaweed

We'll go to Newry with the Irish seaweed

We will buy expensive shoes for you on the stately seaweed

Oh I sent her a message, that I would buy her a comb

The story she sent me was that her head was combed

You won't find my daughter, says the Irish seaweed

Well, I'll kidnap her with me, says the stately seaweed

Yellowfin seaweed, Irish seaweed

Yellowfin seaweed, Irish seaweed

Seaweed of the sea, it was better, it was better

Yellowfin seaweed, Irish seaweed

Seaweed of the sea, it was better, it was better

It was better in Ireland

*If any of the Irish is wrong I'm sorry, I used a English-Irish Dictionary from 1959, and some of the meanings are wrong, so don't get mad at me if any of it is wrong, Thank you

**This is related to “The Willow Maiden'' as well as “They’re Myths” on Wattpad. The lore has yet to be released as well as Bláthnaid life other than “The Willow Maiden '' and “The Willows Daughter” (All written by Moi) I hope you enjoyed it! (575 words)
