EUTW: Friends and Foul Enemies(Part 3!)

“You are the worst jumper I have ever seen.”

“YOU JUST LEAPED OFF A CLIFF AND YOU ASK ME THAT?”

“Well you did almost kill yourself by landing in a pile of thorns.”

“I didn’t know they were poisonous!”

“Uh huh. Anyway, you would have died without” Nela flicked her long golden hair “me. So I suggest we get going now.”

Gale nodded and picked himself off the ground, following her. The dragons still were guarding the entrance, looking even scarier up close. One was bright green and the other was dark red.

Nela whispered to Gale.

“I’m going to try and hold the green one. You stay and help me if it goes wrong, okay?”

Gale coughed a little.

“How are you going to hold the green one?”

Nela shook her head.

“It’s all in the elements. Pray to Soulle that I don’t get my insides obliterated.”

Gale watched as she ran to the dragons, holding a specter as bright as a highlighter.

He began drawing a Wind Spell until he realized-

The dragons are gone?!

Nela looked over at him with wide open eyes.

Because the dragons had turned into a girl and a boy.

“WHAT?”

Hunter quickly lifted up his hand, looking at the old black ring on his middle left finger.

“This old thing is a Ring? No way.”

Yvette grinned.

“Well Hunter, how about we test it?”

She motioned at Galen, and he lightly stomped the ground, making a blackboard out of nowhere.

Yvette took out a quill and drew a graph, then some stats.

“So I’m gonna ask about your powers, and you have to answer honestly, okay?”

Hunter rolled his eyes.

“Andddd what if I don’t?”

“Then you’ll meet my fists.” Snarled Galen.

Yvette tapped the board.

“First question. How long can you use your powers?”

“About...hmm. I guess a day or two.”

“Okay, next question. Can you talk and use ghosts?”

“Of course!”

“Next question, can you turn invisible, and still use everything just fine?”

“It took forever to master it, but yeah.”

“Last question, are you tired after using your powers?”

“No-I mean, if I use like, a really advanced move, yes, but if it’s just darkness, then I’m fine.”

Yvette laughed a little.

“Okay Hunter, the average time for a non-Ring user to use their powers is about fifteen minutes, they can’t talk to ghosts, turning invisible tires then out and they can’t use any powers with it, and usually they will faint OR die from exhaustion if they used darkness for over an hour. Sooo” Yvette quipped “That ‘old ring’ is a Ring!”

Hunter stared in shock. He had been wearing his father’s black ring for years, ever since he passed away. But he never knew that this plain ring was in fact a gift from the Gods.

As if on cue, Soul popped into the sky.

“Well well well, look who didn’t listen and ended up like this- OH! Where in Chikyu are we?”

Soul flew around Galen, who swatted them away impatiently.

“Soul, uh, this is Galen, um, the guy who saved me, and this is Yvette, the princess of the Swan Shrine..?”

“Dove Shrine, Hunter. And the owner of the Healing Ring.”

A strange metallic ringing started. Galen opened his sack and took out a Holophone.

“Hello, Princess Dove and Metal Guard. We are here to inform you that the Water Ring and Earth Ring have been take by R.O.O.T. , and that two members of the elemental team have died. Cascade Aria Flutter-Pixie and Phoenix Soarkai. Bread, out.”

The hologram disappeared.

A deathly silence filled the room as Hunter’ brain caught up to his ears.

R.O.O.T. has killed Cas and Nix. And the rings are missing. What else could go wrong?

At that moment a cloaked figure burst through the door.

“Who the hell are you two?”

The girl gave an airy laugh as the boy stared at the both of them.

“Well, I’m-”

The boy slapped his hand over the girl.

“You can’t just tell them our names! Like, what if, like, they killed you?”

The girl giggled.

“You’re always soooo protective, Flint! I’m fine!”

“FAWN!”

Nela snorted.

“Andddd y’all just told us your names.”

Fawn grinned at Flint.

“This is my older brother Flint, he has the power of fire! And I’m Fawn, I have the power of Earth!”

Flint groaned.

“Why. Did. You. Tell. Them. Fawn!”

Gale held up his hands.

“Look, we aren’t here to kill you two or anything, we just wanted to go through the forest. I’m Gale, this is uh- Nela.”

Nela huffed and crossed her arms.

“I just wanna know why you guys were dragons? Like, you could have just been, y’know, human?”

Fawn gave a fake cough, and Flint blushed and looked away.

“Well, um...because mayyyybe I accidentally used the wrong spell and transformed us into giant dragons?”

Fawn burst into laughter, with Gale following. Nela looked away, but slow enough to see the smile on her face.

After they stopped laughing, Nela asked the question that Gale was thinking of.

“So are you guys going to come with us?”

A high-pitched laugh filled the Dark Greenland as a green-hair girl, not older than twenty, sat on a throne decorated with skulls and thorns.

She was happy; of course she was.

Killing the two girls on the elemental team had brought her great joy.

Finally, she was starting to collect more Rings!

After all the sorrow and misery that the so-called “Princess Dove” had brought her, it delighted her to see them perish.

Fingering the once-bright Ring on her hand, she tested it by growing a rose. The small seed immediately grew to a bulging flower bud, then grew spikes and spat out poison.

She laughed again.

A messenger came through the door.

“Y-y-your Highness, we g-got a message from s-someone.”

She ripped open the letter.

“Hello, Queen Diqiu. This is a message-no, a warning from the Elementals. Hand over the Rings peacefully. This is your only warning.”

The girl read out loud. The messenger, quivering, sensed the danger emitting from her and turned to run.

A loud roar silenced the footsteps from the messenger permanently. A huge lizard crawled out of the shadows, dragging the body with it.

“Dinner, Namgi. We’ll see how tough these elementals are soon enough.”

The piercing laugh echoed through the halls as Namgi ate the body.

Well well well, look who wrote another story :D
