"Zeinaaa, where are youuuu," called Tony. Basically, I was being chased by boys. It's a girl's dream come true, right? To have boys all over you. Not mine. That's because they weren't chasing me because they loved me, they were chasing me because they were angry, angry that I had single-handedly beat their leader at basketball. And now they wanted revenge, because apparently "NO ONE beats Josh, you will PAY."
What an overreaction. I was right in front of the creepy house, the one that people say is haunted. But I don't believe in myths or ghosts, so I went in, it's not like they would expect me to go in anyways. Plus, they're big scaredy - cats, they wouldn't even try to step foot on the grounds of that house. as I ran towards the house, I fell. Not as in I tripped, as in I FELL into a hole. I screamed, very loud. I would be surprised if the whole neighborhood didn't hear me, how would the boys not?! I hit the ground after what felt like hours, even though it was probably only, like, 15 seconds.
"Owch," I said. I checked all around my body, I only had a few scrapes and a bruise. No blood, so nothing too bad. I heard laughing from above me, so I looked up. It was coming from the boys.
"You deserve that, you no-good ass." TK said. I rolled my eyes, not feeling threatened at all. Or at least by them.
"Yeah, yeah," I called up to him. Nixon, one of the guys, looked down dreamily at me, or, something beside me. There's no way he would've fallen for the girl who beat his group leader, is there? Yeah, there's no way someone that cute would've fallen for you, because- I stopped myself mid-sentence. I couldn't think such bad words. I looked around me, and didn't see what I thought it was gonna be. It wasn't just dirt, it was pretty well made. Like an emergency bunker. There was a bed and a chair, it was big. The thing that confused me the most was the two doors.
I looked up again. I wouldn't be able to climb back up on my own, and there was no way that the guys would help me. I picked up my phone, there was no service. So, I guess my best bet was to go through one of the doors. But which one? I mean, what if it's like in the movies? One leads you out safely, and the other leads you to certain death?! I doubt it, because this is real life, but I won't take any chances! What if it's booby-trapped? Maybe somebody doesn't want other people here...
"You're being ridiculous, Zeina," I told myself.
"There's no way that this place is booby-trapped, just pick a door!" I reached for the right door and opened it. Sticking my head through, I looked around for any sign of danger, but there was none. It actually looked kinda welcoming, it looked like Wonderland... you know, like Alice's adventures in Wonderland? Anyways, it had mushrooms, very colorful ones too, may I add. I walked forwards slowly, and fell down the rabbit hole, like Alice did.
"Great," I said sarcastically. I started screaming, again. There were things all around the rabbit hole, like stoves and pans. Just as I saw the bottom of the hole, I flew up, and landed in a bedroom on a bed.
"Ah," I let out a little scream and immediately covered my mouth. I didn't know if anyone was home. It looked familiar... not like a place I've been to, but a place I've seen, or read about. I got up and went to the window, to try to get some idea of where I was. I looked around, it looked... old. And pristine, very nice looking, like something out of a book- OH! My eyes caught Big Ben, not some knock-off, the REAL Big Ben. I was in London! I LOVE London, it's so beautiful. But, what does that mean?
Am I in another fairy tale? I thought about any fairytale that has a bedroom and was in London... Cinderella, no. Sleeping Beauty, no Peter Pan, n- yeah! I'm in Peter Pan! This is like The Land of Stories, only real! I opened the windows and put my head outside and looked, for any trace of Peter. I stayed like that for twenty minutes before I saw a shadow of a boy, flying! I was in such shock, I forgot to back away from the window, so when he came inside, he crashed into me!
We both let out an "oof" sound. My eyes slowly started to open, and that's when I saw Peter, right beside me, I turned towards him, and he turned towards me. Something, I don't know what, made me go closer to him, and he went closer to me. It was like there were magnets bringing us closer. I closed my eyes and we kissed, I KISSED Peter Pan! Not only that, I had my FIRST KISS with Peter Pan! I opened my eyes again and he grinned at me, so I smiled back. He looked really similar to Nixon... but that might be because the lighting is low.
"Ready to fly?" He asked. I nodded my head. He put pixie dust on me and said,
"Think happy thoughts!" I didn't really have too many happy thoughts, my parents were strict, and I didn't have too many friends. I closed my eyes and thought hard, and thought about my dog, Oceana, who was always there for me, no matter what. I smiled and felt my feet come off the ground. I looked down and saw my feet off the ground, it felt weird, and exciting. Then I looked around and saw Peter. He took my hand and led me outside. Peter let go so I could explore for myself.
"Wow," I said, marveling at the beautiful sight.
"It's wonderful, isn't it?" Peter said. I nodded, and he took my hand again. We flew all around London for hours, looking at the prettiest sights and scaring people. It was definitely a night to remember. Peter led me to the countryside. There was a lake, a beautiful one. The moonlight shimmered over the water and fish jumped around, making the sight even more perfect. I gripped Peter's hand harder, and he took me down closer to the lake. My hand skimmed the water, as we flew over the water, then halfway, he let go. But then, instead of flying I fell into the water. and was pulled down into the lake by what felt like hands.
I screamed, "Help me Peter, help!" He flew down and grabbed my hand, pulling hard.
"Don't leave me," he cried. But I couldn't hold on, my hand was wet and slippery. I screamed loud as my hand slipped out of his.
"Nooooo," he yelled. He went into the water and swam after me, but he couldn't reach and he soon fell behind. Then everything went dark.
My eyes opened and I was still in the water. I swam up and gasped when I finally had air. I panted and looked around for Peter Pan.
"Peter," I yelled. "Peter, where are you?" My commotion brought somebody else, somebody not Peter. A tail splashed in the water near me. It wasn't a fish or a shark. Not a whale or a dolphin. It kinda looked like a mermaid, but that was impossible, right? I guess I was about to find out. Something emerged and I closed my eyes because of the water that hit my face from the splash. I opened my eyes slowly, and saw a redhead. She looked at me oddly.
"You are not a mermaid, so what are you?" She asked.
"Uh, a human?" I said hesitantly.
"Interesting, then why are you in the water?"
"I fell." She nodded and put her hand out.
"Uh, do you want me to grab your hand?" She nodded.
"But what's your name?"
"Ariel," She answered. I nodded and grabbed her hand.
"Hold your breath," She said. I did. We went into the water and swam down to the bottom. My lungs started to burn so I pointed up, instead she made a bubble and gave it to me.
"Put it over your head," she said. I nodded and did it. I could breathe again and coughed a bit.
"Are you okay?" She asked. I nodded and gestured for her to go forward. We went down into an underwater castle!
"Whoaaa," I said. Ariel smiled and swam into it. We went right into the throne room. There sat a merman, who looked like a king.
"What is the meaning of this?" He roared.
"Father, this is my friend-" she hesitated.
"Zeina," I whispered.
"Zeina," she repeated to her father.
"Well, she doesn't belong here." He said softer.
"She's not even from this world." I froze.
"I-"
"It's ok, Zeina," said Ariel.
"I brought you here so I could bring you back to your world."
"Oh," I said.
"Well, what do I need to do?" I asked, turning towards the king.
"Imagine your home, then blink three times," he said simply.
"Ok."
I started to do it, but then hesitated.
"Thank you, for your help, I'll be forever grateful," I said sadly. They smiled at me.
"We'll always remember you always," said Ariel. They both gestured for me to go on. I took a deep breath and thought of home.
"One," Ariel said. I blinked.
"Two," the king said. I blinked again.
"Three," said Ariel softly. I blinked one last time, and waved.
I woke up, and breathed hard. I looked around and saw I was in bed.
"Was it all a dream?" I asked myself.
"Yeah, there's no way that could've happened in real life." I walked out of my room.
"Are you sure about that?" Said Peter Pan from outside the window. He grinned and flew away.
