Fantasy

It is not a big deal for any kid growing up -day dreaming about unicorns and dragons to have no limits imaging various other species with same unusual magical powers .Regardless of culture, time, period or place ,kids imitate animals because it allows them to take powers and control over them which is more fascinating fantasy than a harsh reality.

There was this one movie which everyone must have heard about i am sure called "The chronicles of Narnia" that then blew my mind about fictitious creatures with not one but a pack of them. I gulped my breath pretending it's normal and easy just like flying horses around the clouds but what made this one different from others was his ability to think ,talk and react like a human being .It took my life and my visions to some another level of eagerness.I never had been so curious about what happens next ever in my life. One can just step in to a cupboard which takes you to magic. Breathtaking characters and excellent story makes a film work but this just wasn't a film, this was the dream i tried to dream.

My curiosity witnessed an animal that was half-man -half-horse as powerful as warriors and loyal courtiers serving for mankind. There were talking beavers ,evil flying cats, fancy fauns and everything you can just imagine but my mind was stuck onto a centaur who was working for a different species despite of them being strong enough to rule alone.People usually confuses them with unicorns but there's a huge difference between them.Unicorns are with single horns on their forehead thought to be the purest and white coloured horses that have wings and can fly of course.Though both of the imaginations comes from the same source (greek reference),they tend to serve different purpose and different features.

A " Centaur" is a creature from greek mythology with the upper body (torso) of a human being , and the lower body and legs of a horse. They were featured as wild tamed horses created by the mating of Ixion(ancient king) and Nephele (cloud of likeliness). The centaurs are best known for their fight with another creatures of their own kind. They would live around the forests and mountains as the environment would suit their body and great for their survival. They were said to be primal, existing in tribes and making homes in caves and arming themselves with rocks and tree branches.

All the animals be it real or unreal have this attitude of gratitude and discipline that no other community of species .There is this most common theory that holds the idea of them coming from non-riding culture and it all began with greek mythology. They are generally known for their savage, rowdy and boisterous behavior that may differ according to their gender.Though people have made an effort to research about dinosaurs ,there are less efforts made to know more about centaurs but people believe they were real back in the fourth century with no evidence of their existence.

Another tribe of centaurs were said to have lived on to guard the needed.Modern day literature have articles and briefs of them ;there are also art galleries with their statue and paintings explaining the idea where it comes from. These so called centaurs represented barbarism and unbridled chaos and were frequently represented in greek architectural sculpture and pottery decoration. There are different types of artistical representations. Classical art, medieval art, modern art and in heraldry are various forms of art that features the centaurs giving a visual effect on the species all together.

Sub-grouping was also one of the things believed they could do ,in other words we call it hybrid. If we talk about how safe they were, legends show more evolved centaurs who were quite not as wild, but just as dangerous and more focused hunters. As i already mentioned about it above , they are of different genders. The females are called centaurides, they help and support males.

However, despite their bestial and unusual reputation, some centaurs were not unfavourably portrayed in myths unless they were under the effects of wine. There is no doubt about the centaurs portrayed as both great and questionable creatures at the same time for same reason but if you ask me, i would say we can think about centaurs being a part of our world in today's life.If they would exists in today's world , there is no doubt researchers would bring them in their laboratories for research and dig more information from them.Let's not forget our selfishness when it comes to something new and unaffordable ,not in terms of money but when our life is at stake.we would take all the measures to cage them and train them and process the the idea of categorizing them ,whether or not to live them roaming around like other domestic animals or their freedom belongs in zoo.

If given a chance to bring back an imaginary animal to life, we definitely would want many creatures including unicorns and dragons to come to live but precisely for me it has to be a centaur and we have enough reasons to prove it beneficial for us .They can work for our army ,or in our day to day life. They could be a big help to us if considered as bodyguards. If we actually start considering the pros and cons of bringing fantasy to life,it can happen some day that they may really come true .Their loyalty and bravery, the way they have ability to think and react despite not being a human being can be useful but again at what costs?

For an instance, it is better to keep few things up to imaginations as they may cost us a leg and an arm to be real enough. There is a reason why dinosaur fossils are kept in museum where they are safe and not tried to bring them back to life.If only it was that easy to just imagine world full of happy ,magical and positive things surrounded by us ,there wouldn't be anything like back stabbing . Most people do not stop to introspect about what reality is. Adding filter to our thoughts might not be in our control but seems a good idea for holding on.

Hello, Krushani. I like your story, the info and your thoughts around 'centaurs'. Nice choice. Critique: many occurrences of space before period, no space after the end of sentences, several misspellings. I feel that these all take away from a story. I notice them and it interrupts my reading flow, and I, of course, am your audience. :) Still, nice story.
