Lights off, sounds of heels walking toward the door. Alarm turning on, door quickly open, door shut, and lock is turning. You hear the alarm going beep. It is quiet, and not a person in sight. This is the best time of the day!
Psst, it is time to wake up everybody. Dorothy is jumping out from Wizard of Oz book. She ran down the green aisle to D street. There she is, opening a book for Daniel’s Marching Band. Dorothy needs Daniel’s band to follow her down the aisles. Daniel’s band plays It is Time to Boogie Down! Dorothy opens many books such as Red Riding Hood, The Three Bears, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Snow White, Mickey Mouse, Brown Bear Brown Bear What do you See, The Little Engine that could, Alice and Wonderland, Matilda, Planets Everywhere, and What is in The Pot?
Dorothy said, “It is time to shake off everything! We have been quiet for ten hours. People drop us on the floor, children either step, sat or roll on us. Some sneaking eating candy bars and got us all gooey. Let us not talk about licking fingers to turn a page, Yuk!” Everybody working hard to get this party popping.
Red Riding Hood told her grandma to make the best apple pies. She had to make sure big dangerous wolf keeps his claws and teeth to himself. Mama Bear making porridge while Baby Bear is tasting it to make sure it is exactly right. Papa Bear fixing the broken chairs for their guest. Pinocchio practice for a puppet show. Cinderella and Snow White oversaw the decorations. They went to the books of Planets and pulled out the solar system. The solar system is floating in the ceiling throughout the entire library. The sun is in the middle, producing bright lights. Brown Bear sat on the tables and chairs to make several colors. Alice brought in a magical garden with magical table settings. Mickey Mouse and Matilda in charge of invitations. Little Engine in charge of picking up the guest and returning them back to their station. Dorothy claps her hands and announces they had one hour left. Matilda and Mickey flew down the aisles to give out invitations.
Dorothy told everyone to be quiet. They heard a cry. Matilda tip around until the cry got closer. It was a little girl around six years old. She was lying in the children’s lounge area. “What is your name?” The little girl held her hands to her chest saying, “You not my mommy.” Matilda said, “If you give me your name, I can call your mommy.” Annie gave Matilda her mommy phone number. Matilda comfort her and made sure she was safe. Matilda searches the library looking for a phone, but she thought, I am not real. How can I call her mom? Everyone hid from Annie. Annie looking around the library and saw a strange scenery. Annie's eyes got big, and her mouth drop open. Annie observes the solar system from the ceiling, bright sun lighting up the library, magical garden with magical flowers, magical table setting, tables and chairs different colors. Annie said, “This is not where my mommy brought me!” Matilda said, “Annie, you are dreaming of a magical library. Let me take your hands and we can walk together.” Dorothy gave a signal for each one to come out as soon as Matilda walk down memory lane. Dorothy came out with Toto, and Annie was shock and surprise. Where are your friends Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Man? Dorothy said, “Turn around.” They all wave at Annie. Annie froze and did not say a word. As they went down another lane, Cinderella came out and gave Annie a red apple. Annie said, “No thank you it is a rotten apple.” Snow White and Alice and Wonderland came around the corner. Annie burst out saying, “No way!” Cinderella gave Annie a ballroom dress and slippers. Alice gave her magical flowers. Little Engine came out ringing the bell bouncing up and down. Dorothy took Annie's hands and help her on the train. They went several aisles over to visit. The Three Little Bears sitting at the table eating porridge. Baby Bear invites Annie to join them. Annie sat took a spoon full of porridge and said it need some butter and sugar. They all laugh. Momma Bear said maybe we need to add that line to our book. Red Riding Hood came in and brought apple pie. Annie's body shake. “What is wrong?” Dorothy said. Annie reply, “The wolf is coming to eat us up!” Dorothy assures Annie the place is safe. Mickey Mouse came and gave Annie big Mickey ears. Pinocchio came over and gave Annie a puppet show. “Surprise this is all for you, Annie!” Pinocchio said. His nose grew six.
inches. Annie laughs while holding her stomach. Brown Bears came out, and it was eight of them in eight colors. Annie looks sad. Matilda said, “What is wrong, my child? Annie reply, I wish I could see Frozen.” Dorothy ran over to aisle F to open the book. Anna and Olaf came out and Annie gave them the biggest hug ever. Daniel’s band play “Let it Go” while Elsa came out singing. Annie turns around like a whirl of wind holding her cheeks. Annie ran to Elsa, taking her hand. They both were singing, and everyone joins in. Annie was loving her dream, and it felt so real. Annie said she was going to stay sleep forever.
Dorothy announces it was three hours till count down. They all ate, dance and play magical games. Cinderella looks at the clock it stuck twelve and Little Engine came to take her back to aisle C. Snow White made a mistake and ate the apple. The little Darafs pick up Snow White carrying her back to the books. Mini came to get Mickey and said it was time to go home. At three 0’clock Brown Bears sat on every table and chairs to remove colors. Alice and Wonderland aboard the Little Engine to clear all the magical flowers and table settings it was almost five o’clock. It is seven o’clock the solar system gathers and flew back into the book. Daniel’ band was playing one more song, and at eight o’clock they had to go back to the books. The Three Little Bears and Pinocchio saw it was eight thirty, and they ran back to the books. Dorothy and Matilda song a song to Annie to put her back to sleep.
They saw flashing lights. Dorothy and Matilda both jump on Little Engine. Little Engine took them to each aisle to make sure all the books were closed, and no one left out. They gave each other a hug and went back to their books. Dorothy jumps out the book remembering Elsa, Anna and Olaf did not return. They were walking around the library admiring other character’s books. Dorothy points her fingers, leading them back to the books. Dorothy saw it was ten o’clock, and the alarm was being turned off. She flew fast into her book.
The door unlocking, feet walking upon the floor. Lights turn on. People entering and children picking up books, dropping, stepping, and sitting on them. Wait, what happens to Annie? Who was she and where did she come from? Did she have a mom? Did Annie escape from another storybook we know nothing about? Like they say, what happens in the dark stays in the dark...
