The date was January 18, 2021. Every year on January 21st, Ashley would go to the Toilet Paper Collecting Convention. From ancient toilet paper to toilet paper made of gold, and even toilet paper fresh from the factory, you would always find somebody with toilet paper you were interested in. People from all over the world would go to this convention, but less than 200 people would attend. Most people just wouldn’t understand the art of collecting toilet paper. Ashley collected toilet paper for fun. Unfortunately for her, the Toilet Paper Collecting Convention, or TPCC, was canceled in 2021. A vaccine for the RonaVirus was developed, but it was not confirmed whether it actually worked. Ashley was worried the convention would never be started up again and she would live in a house with a huge supply of toilet paper. It’s not a bad thing, since people have started hoarding toilet paper since the virus started. But she didn’t want to be known as a toilet paper hoarder, she wanted to be known as the best lawyer in the world. Ashley was actually a lawyer and collected toilet paper for fun. Her life didn’t revolve around toilet paper, but it was hard to find anything to do outside of work hours.

Ashley wanted the TPCC to go on this year, so she took action. She knew there were only 3 days until The TPCC’s usual date, but trying to be somewhat productive was better than sitting on the couch all day rewatching old Qisney Channel shows. Ashley got out her laptop and looked up the information of the couple that leads the TPCC every year. Apparently, there was a result on Boogle when you look up the TPCC, but nobody has ever thought to look it up. There was a website that showed some images of toilet paper from previous conventions and the business email. Ashley already had an idea of what she was going to say. She didn’t hesitate to type away at an email. Using experience from her job as a lawyer, Ashley’s email seemed very professional.

“Dear Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence,

I would like to inform you that I would like the Toilet Paper Collecting Convention to be opened for 2021. Instead of meeting in person on very short notice, I have an idea to propose. A Boom meeting could be set up and emails could be sent out to do the convention online instead. This is just an idea and does not have to take action, but it would be greatly appreciated if it did. Sorry for emailing on such short notice, but I hope you can consider my idea. Sincerely,

Ashley Smith”

Although the email was typed and reviewed, Ashley was worried that the nice couple wouldn’t care. Or nobody would attend. She also worried that something would go wrong, and the message wouldn’t even reach the owners. But she still sent the email anyway, because even though she doesn’t want people to think that she is toilet paper crazy, she also wanted to try. She checked the time and realized that she took a lot longer than she thought, so Ashley headed to bed and decided to worry in the morning.

When Ashley woke up, she checked her email and was surprised to find out that her email had already been replied to - at 1:00 AM.

“To Ashley Smith

I am sorry, but the TPCC was something created for laughs, and unless I see an online riot for a convention that nobody has heard of, my wife and I will not be starting the convention this year. Sincerely,

Christian Lawrence”

Ashley knew something like this would happen, and she was thinking about giving up. But then after she read the email again, she got an idea. She knew that there was an app that everyone was obsessing about in quarantine, where you can be yourself: TokTik. She made a new account and posted a bunch of videos talking about the TPCC, all without showing her face or using her real voice. Soon, she had 100 thousand followers, and it turns about that most of those people just wanted to see what this convention was. By this time, it was January 20th, and she had gotten a text from the owners.

“We saw the riot on TokTik. The convention starts tomorrow at 4.”

Ashley was shocked to find out this. The TPCC was still on! But what shocked Ashley the most was how they managed to get a hold of her phone number.

The date was January 21, 2021. This is the day of the 1st annual Online Toilet Paper Collecting Convention. From hoarded toilet paper to toilet paper with pictures of bread, and even toilet paper just delivered to your home, you would always find somebody with toilet paper you were interested in. People from all over the world would go to this convention, and more than 100k people would attend. Ashley Smith had been to many different toilet paper conventions, but this was her very first time attending the OTPCC. A Boom meeting had people take turns to enter because there were so many people. Click on him and he’s got golden toilet paper. Click on her and she’s got ancient toilet paper. Click on them and they have no toilet paper. New friends are made, old friends reunite, and Ashley is proud that some people may have found their new hobby. She realizes that collecting toilet paper just might not be her thing. Attending this convention was fun and all, but she would rather do something a little bit different. When Ashley wasn’t collecting toilet paper or working as a lawyer, she also worked a second job advertising toilet paper to support her family. Her husband was also a lawyer, and she had two kids. For now, Ashley is just going to spend time with her family and practice the art of mask making. After all, she has seen enough of toilet paper and needs more masks to protect her from the RonaVirus.
