Hi, I am the owner of the top restaurant of this town, Bianca. Want to know what keeps the customers coming back? It is not drugs, just in case you were wondering. It is the taste of what they desire the most. And what is that, you may wonder. It can be anything, really, love, freedom, joy, something more sinful like lust, power or perhaps the feeling of killing someone you despise. Like I said, anything.
You might ask, how do you let people taste their greatest desire? Well, there might have been a little bit of magic involved. You see, I am a witch. My family despises humans. They look down on them. But on the other hand, I find them fascinating. Me and my family have never seen eye to eye due to many reasons, their hatred and my fascination for humans being one of them. Eventually, I left. I opened a small restaurant, trying to blend in and make a living for myself. To be clear, I am a good cook. Just not good enough to make enough money for staff, rent, and... everything. What is that saying? Desperate times, desperate measures. I decided to add a little magic potion into the food to keep the customers coming back. And it worked. Words spread around, the next thing I know, people from all around the country are coming back to taste my food.
Here's the tricky thing about desires. Sometimes they are buried deep inside a person's mind. And once the desires have been dug out from there, the temptation to act on them will grow. As I mentioned, some people's desires are more sinful. And my magic ingredient may cause some chaos. However, who does not enjoy a little bit of chaos?
The first story I am going to tell you might not be so much about chaos. But it is definitely about drama. It was a Saturday evening, and the CEO of the Williams Enterprise, Mr. Frank Williams came to my restaurant for dinner with his wife as he came to this town to visit his mother's grave. As a businessman, he actually has a pretty good reputation, a family man who loves his wife and kids, good to his employees and all that. As they say, never judge a book by its cover, turns out what he desired was his female employees. Two days after his visit to my restaurants, there were reports of him sexually harassing his secretary, his other female employees everywhere. And I knew that just couldn't be a coincidence.
The second story is about the Vice President of our country, well, ex-vice-president. Just like many other politicians, Vice President Caroline Johnson is obsessed with power. Oh, and she is also a manipulative bitch. She has a nice front. Otherwise she wouldn't have the support from her colleagues and the people of our country. But I am a witch after all, and we as a group are incredibly observant. We tend to notice the little things others do not. Back to the story, it was a Thursday evening and the mayor of our town chose my restaurant to dine at with Johnson. I was intrigued. So I served the table myself. I swear I saw the darkness rose in her eyes as she ate. And I knew there was going to be trouble. Two days after she had returned to the capitol, the president himself was announced murdered. And naturally, Vice President Caroline Johnson was asked to step in. I'll admit, the situation had escalated more than I expected it to. So I took matters into my own hands and exposed her by gaining evidence with witchcraft.
Like humans, I also like saving the best for last. The last story I am going to tell you starts with a normal Monday afternoon. There were barely any customers in the restaurant after lunch time. I sat down on a table to relax. And the bell on the door rang, a young boy, I think about eleven years old, looking deeply troubled came in. I got up and gave him a menu. He put the menu away and started crying all of a sudden, telling me how older students at his school keep teasing him and they started getting physical and he was attacked when he was walking home after school by the bullies and then they took his money away and now he doesn't know what to do because it was supposed to be his lunch money for the rest of the week. I took pity on him and gave him some money. Then prepare him a hot meal, hoping he would feel better. Turns out that was a mistake because the next day, the headline of the newspaper reads, "Eleven years old boy stabbed fourteen years old bully to death in school". I've got to say, I was shocked. I mean I did see a hint of darkness in his eyes after he ate. But I thought it was just some kind of revenge against bullies that does not involve murder. This is in fact my favorite incident out of all of them. Because this is an actual example of why I am so fascinated with humans. With witches, they might be capable of a lot of things, but they are predictable. With humans, they are unpredictable, you can never judge a book by its cover and they never, never fail to surprise you.
Storytime over. I guess you can say all these are somehow my fault, that I am the bad guy. But in my defense, they have to be terrible people in order to do all this kind of stuff, yes, including the young boy because come on, his greatest desire is to kill someone, how good can he be? Sure, I was the one who exposed their desires. I didn't tell them to act on them. In a way, I am really exposing people for who they truly are. That's not evil, that's just brilliant.
