My story is entitled In a drawing room.


The drawing room in a house is a place where visitors may be entertained.These visitors may include individuals such as male or females,friends, dignitaries,Ambassadors,ministers and several others.

The drawing room is also a place where the telephone is placed to make and then receive calls from all sorts of people.

Also the drawing room is a place where ladies often than not receive calls tbrough out the day.

In addition the drawing room is known as the Reception room for all evening parties.

It can be noted and also observed that most evening parties at some places are often held in the drawing room.

This is because the drawing room serves as a place of comfort and entertaining place to the organizers of the event and the birthday celebrant.

The drawing room is where people often organize parties ,make merry ,dance and cut birthday cakes for parties.

Again the drawing room is a place that also serves as a movie theater where people often gather as in a cinema to watch movies and thereby entertain themselves at the cinema.


Also the drawing room is a house where visitors are often entertained and again received. The living room also serves as a room for entertaining all sorts of guests.

Again a drawing room is a room in a home in which hosts or hostess can thereby entertain guests.

Also a drawing room is a room in a home in which individuals often gather to be entertained by watching football.

The drawing room is a room in a castle where visitors are entertained. It is also noted that some town houses in Japan would be said to have drawing rooms. These town houses in Japan often entertain visitors and all other individuals within their community at large.

It can be noted that most schools and Universities have hostel facilities that comprises of the drawing room that entertains students and helps them to organize events such birthday parties and other entertaining ceremonies.

The drawing room is commonly a place where people gather to tell stories such as comedy and entertain themselves.

The name drawing room is said to be derived from the 16th century terms withdrawing room and the withdrawing chamber. Again within some modern houses the drawing room may be used as a convenient name or reception room.

The royal morning receptions that the French called levees were called drawing rooms.

The is the sense that the privileged members of court would often gather in the room outside the king's bedroom where he would make his first formal public appearance of the day.


In America a land of opportunities and plenty the drawing room served as a parlour where the President Jefferson Davis greeted his guests at all times. After their greetings ,the men remained within the parlour to talk all about politics and the women then withdraw to the drawing room for a discussion or a conversation of some sort.

The drawing room was often found in the Southern United States of America.It is the drawing room that most Americans in the Southern States often go and entertain themselves by watching movies, listening and dancing to all sorts of music.

Again they often gather at these drawing rooms to watch comedy plays at the Theater and they pay a fee for services granted them in order to generate income and then create employment within the community at large.

At most places in the United Kingdom the drawing room serves as a place where most individuals visit to avoid boredom and thereby entertain themselves by organizing parties and other ceremonies such as Val's day.


As noted the Architectural manual in England then defined the drawing room as a Lady's Apartment essentially being the modern form of the lady's Withdrawing room.

The drawing room is a parlour or perfected chamber of some sort of medieval plan.


In some places the drawing room is the only sitting room of the family.

It is within the drawing room that ladies receive calls tbrough out the day and the family and their guests assemble before dinner.

Often after dinner ,the ladies withdraw from the drawing room and are joined by the gentlemen for the evening.

Other places consider the drawing room as the Reception room for all evening parties.

Again there is only one kind of drawing room as regards to all functions and other purpose.

There is a little difference except in size and some evidence of opulence between the duchess and the simplest gentlewoman within the neighborhood.


As estimated in size the drawing room is about 16 feet wide from 18 to 20 feet long.

The size of 18 by 24 feet I'd a good size.

Again the size of 2O by 30 and 26 by 40 is also an estimated size big enough for a very superior Apartment such as the drawing room.

The estimated size of the drawing room indicates the number of people or visitors that can be entertained in that room at some particular time.

At some other places after dinner is served most ladies of the dinner party often withdraw to the drawing room. They then left the gentleman at the table where the tablecloth was being removed.


In addition after an interval of conversation often accompanied by brandy or port or sometimes cigars, the gentlemen later rejoined the ladies in the drawing room.

The drawing room is often used in Britain by those who have reception rooms such as the morning room

Also the drawing room is also known as the sitting room with the east facing exposure suited for all daytime calls.

In addition the drawing room often serves as a designation for a room where one can easily relax and be entertained.

As can be noted the drawing room is the smartest room within the house often used by Adults of the family for all entertaining purposes.


Finally the drawing room is a state room that also provided a place for entertainment and other special events such as parties.
