Inspirational Happy Adventure

The artist stood painting a scenery and decided to use the tree that stuck out like a sore thumb for his painting. How wonderful. The lines of the brushes softly added colour to the canvas. He continued painting and added in the couple under the tree into his painting, the soft breeze brushing against the painters face made him feel calm and relaxed. Oh how wonderful.

There it was. The reason for his suffering. That annoying Tree.

The begining of his so called love started here, the tree grew with the young couple since their childhood but now, it stood swaying in the swift wind basking in the sunlight whilst mocking his still broken heart. Now at twenty-eight he stood there with tears flowing down his face. Look what its done to him. How horrible. Reminiscing over the past he began to remember the events that happened right near this tree.

“Baby! Look I came here just in time for our date!” He rushed over holding a bouquet that held his girlfriend‘s favourite flowers

“Umm, actually I didn’t call you here for a date. I have something to tell you.” She let out in a low voice

”Well, I hope you didn’t find out I stole your favourite mug or something.” He whispered softly before smiling waiting for his girlfriend to continue

”Look I’m not gonna beat around the bush and I’m gonna say this. I’m breaking up with you.” His girlfriend said flat out

His once smiling face had now disappeared falling into a frown.

”Your kidding right? Are you sure you aren’t pranking me because of what I did last time when I scared you?” His voice quivered

”No. I’m done with this relationship, with you, with us, with everything.”

“Wait. No. Did I do something wrong? Did I not give you enough belly rubs on your period two weeks ago? Is it because I didn’t come home earlier after work? What is it? I’ll change it, just for you.” He begged

”You don’t need to change, I just... I’ve fallen out of love. You aren’t what I need and besides, I’ve found someone else.” She said turning her face away from him.

His frown turned into a sad face as he dropped the boque of flowers onto the ground trying to process what she had just said to him.

”O-oh. Are you sure I didn’t do or say anything?” He asked with a quivering lip

”No you didn’t. You are a great guy but-”

”But what? If I am such a great guy why are you doing this to me?”

She sighed softly before speaking once again, ”I-I just don’t feel the same way I did as when I was in love with you.” She confessed

Silence good over the atmosphere as the broken hearted man stood there in utter disbelief.

”How long? How long ago did you meet this new person?” He asked in a melancholy tone

”So far now it’s been three months.” She said looking down avoiding eye contact

“So, you cheated on me?” He asked shocked to hear her answer

Silence once again took over the heavy atmosphere.

“Look. I’ve got to go. Bye.” The girl now walked away leaving the young man still unaware as to what he was supposed to be feeling.

Looking at the girl walking away he felt like crying out loud. He wanted to scream, to shout. He wanted her back but she didn’t want him. She didn’t need him.

‘No, wait come back! I’ll promise I’ll do better! We promised to never hurt each other right? We said this to each other right here, under this Tree. I loved you but... Why? Why did you did you break my heart?

Tears. The wet liquid produced often times when someone is sad was now pouring down his face as he felt his heart now shatter.

After coming out of the long trance, the man had now felt disappointed in himself.

‘I should really move on. It’s been three years already.’

He turned his head only to see a loving couple holding hands feeling even more lonely.

How horrible.

Here it was. The tree where he had confessed his feelings to his best friend who had become girlfriend his one and only love, he was finally going to do it. He was going to propose to her right here, under this Tree. He knew this day would one day come, after years and years of patience and struggle he was going to do it. He took her on a picnic right under the tree and he was finally going to propose. How romantic.

“Baby. I know you aren’t really into the cheesy stuff we are doing today, so why don’t you tell me what you wanted to say.”

“Well after what feels like decades of being together I finally think I should say it. Baby, I love you so much to the point where no word in this world can describe how I feel, and I hope you feel the same way too, especially after what I’m about to say.”

“Aww, of course I love you too!” His girlfriend responded to his comment

“I know you like things to be said and done quick and snappy, so I need you to answer me this.” He took out the black box from the picnic basket before getting on one knee

“Will you marry me?” Nervousness arose through his body he’d been kneeling for a minute waiting for a response

Wanting to make sure she heard him he spoke again, “Well? What do you say? Will you marry me?” He asked again worriedly

”Oh darling! Yes!” She broke out in tears while smiling

Putting on the ring on his smiling fiancée, he carried her off the ground by her waist and started spinning her around in happiness whilst kissing her.

”Oh darling! You’ve made me the happiest man on earth!”

Their happy smiles soon turned into giggles that started to fade away.

Ah. There it was. That beautiful Tree. The place where all the wonderful and sad things in life happened. She had her first kiss under that Tree, she had her first heartbreak here, she dated her first love under that Tree and she gotten married under that same Tree. Before marriage her husband took her on many dates near this tree and so, happy memories were created here. The old woman took a seat on the bench near the Tree whilst looking peacefully at the place where it had began.

”My dear I hope we can bring our grandchildren to this place too one day. But we have to stay alive and kicking right?”

”...”

”Dear? Are you ignoring me again? I promise to make your favourite dish.”

”...”

Dear?”

“Mother! What are you doing out here?”

”Shush my child. Me and your father are having a chat.”

”Oh Mom. Why don’t we leave Papa to have some rest okay?”

The daughter took her mother’s had and gently lifts her up and takes her Mother away even while she hesitated to leave her husband  and left taking her home once again.

What’s that saying the youngsters used to say?

Ah that’s right. ‘You only live once’ I think it’s become YOLO now but anyways that’s not the point. Take a breath and enjoy the moment. Live life to the fullest but alas even if you think you’ll be happy forever all wonderful things must come to an end just like this Tree, just like me, just like you, just like us.

Oh how wonderful indeed.
