I awoke in a lemon scented room. The kind of scent that you’d smell in hospitals. I asked where I was, even though I read the banner on the wall. In big black and purple letters it said, ‘Infirmary’.
“Ah my child. You are awake.”
“What?” I said groggily.
And that’s when I saw the two headed green man. I screamed. But I then calmed down. I cleared my throat and apologized when I saw the sad expression on his face.
“It’s okay, Many people do that when they first see me.”
“No offense, but…what are you?”
“A man goblin. We aren’t supposed to be two headed, I was born a ‘defect’. My tribe kicked me out when I was six months old. But then our gods had given me another chance. Decided when I grew up, that I would be the owner/main counselor of our lovely camp.”
“Woah.” I laughed.
“Speaking of being two headed, Marsh! WAKE UP!”
“Huh? What?” The other head says.
“He’s alive.” Says the other head.
“Oh great! Another one. When will these Gods stop reproducing with humans!” Marsh says and rolls his eyes.
“Marsh. That’s Kiinn’s daughter.”
“Uh huh. Don’t care.”
“Oh, be nice.”
“Pssh. Why?”
While the two heads argued, I stood up, no longer in pain. A tall boy then walked in. His sandy blonde hair and green emerald eyes matched well. As well as his pale skin. He looked decent.
“He’s cute right?” The girl said.
“Nah, I’m not into guys.”
“I’m into both. Girls and boys.” The girl says.
“That’s cool.” I gently laughed.
The girl had beautiful brown colored curls with the brownest coffee bean colored eyes. She was beautiful and attractive, but I could tell she didn’t feel the same. I’m good at reading facial expressions. It’s like reading minds, but less cool.
“Heyyy Tyler.”
“Wassup, Sadie!”
They did this secret handshake and laughed. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of jealousy towards her. I don’t know what got into me! Great, how lovely!
“Here. I’ll show you around. Tyler you coming?” Sadie said.
“Ehh. I don’t know, I came here for some pain killers. But…Heck, why not! I’ll find you when I’m done.”
“Okie dokie.”
The two of them giggled.
“Do I have powers, Sadie?”
“Yes. You can control the weather and you can control lightning. That’s about it though.”
“When will I learn to use them?”
“In time,”
“So. Z.J where do you want to go first?”
“Where will I be sleeping?” I decided to ask.
“Yes. Your cabin. It’s by the forest, next to the ‘games’ grounds.”
“Game grounds?”
“It’s where we have field games every so often.”
“Oh. Nice.”
I saw a gray and purple cabin with clouds of lightning painted on it. She gestured towards the door. I coughed when dust flew into my lungs. It was really dusty.
“Yeah. You’re the only child of Kiinn. Or so he says. You’ll be bunking alone. But I’ll always be in the yellow and pink cabin. Cabin Lucile.”
“So, is my cabin called Cabin Kiinn?”
“Yes.”
We walked for what seemed to be ages. I got to see the sand pit, where there would be war games and training. There was an archery ground, Mess Hall, a giant fire pit, some larger cabins that housed the counselors, and a small cyan house. The two headed guy lived there with Xamea. The goddess of Wine. (That’s what Sadie told me). There weren't that many children at the camp, it was quite a big camp for so few people.
“Why isn’t Xamea with the other Gods and Goddesses?”
“Your father and her had an argument. He sent her to live as a human until she apologizes to him. She also may hate you.”
“Why?”
“Because of your dad.”
“Oh.”
The sun went down slowly and I had to use the bathroom. She told me that we had bathrooms in our cabins, in the mess hall, and a few stalls by the rockwall. I decided to use the stall only to get met by a terrible fate.
Some bullies.
They pushed me around and took stuff from me. They even took my mom’s rock/magical sword.
“Give it back!” I demanded. They just mocked me.
“Ugh!”
“Daughter of the God King! King of Gods!”
“Not so tough are ya?”
“What?”
“Name’s Kimmie.”
“Who’s your friends?”
“Emme and Susan.”
“Don’t tell her! She’ll snitch on us.” A girl with pink hair said.
“Oh calm down, Susan! She knows better.”
“Anyways, we have a rock now?”
“NO!” I said loudly
“Oh why?”
“It’s s-special.”
Susan whispered in Kimmie’s ear.
“Oh wow! The ancient sword of KIINN!?”
“Only works for the worthy, though.” Susan said.
“Are you calling me worthless?” Kimmie snared at the pink haired girl.
“No! The sword is!”
“Okay. Well here’s your stupid rock.”
Her girls were shocked but then she said,
“SIKE!”
And threw it into the toilet. She almost flushed it, but that’s when Tyler walked over. The girls squealed and ran away laughing. He used water magic to get it out of the toilet. It landed at my feet.
“Don’t worry, the toilets were just cleaned with bleach.”
“Thanks, Tyler.”
“What happened?” Sadie rushed over.
“Kimmie.” Tyler sighed.
“Oh that girl!” Sadie said angrily.
“Give her a knuckle sandwich. Right to the jaw.”
“Uhm…n-no, Sadie. I don’t hit girls.”
“Oh, okay. I’ll do it for you!”
Before I could protest Sadie ran after the girls and lunged at her.
Oh great. I was in trouble.
