Drama Funny Lesbian

Helen and April have been dating for 7 years. They had met each other on a beautiful prom night-organized by Helen- and danced the whole night together. After that, they became inseparable. They would hand out at each other’s houses. Go to cheer meetings together. Watch volleyball and baseball together. Most people did not liked the idea of two girls together, but, who cares?! When love speaks, it speaks loud, loud enough for the amazing child dream to hear it. Loud enough for the 4-year-old child’s helpers in their imagination to hear. Loud enough to be written and at the same time hear by people from everywhere to hear. Loud enough to overcome the loud voice of Helen’s grandparents saying that that was inappropriate. Loud enough to show them that love is love, no matter what. They love each other so much. And Helen always plans out every date. Every perfect date. Every single date. Always Helen. Never April. Last month, on April’s birthday.

“Babe! I have a surprise!” Helen started, “Since is your birthday, I decided that we should go somewhere! Come!” As she got up, she thought about how Helen always plans the best things ever. And it’s always her. Never April. After the date, April had an idea, before Helen’s birthday she would ask Helen to Mary her. And she would plan everything. Every. Single. Detail. And maker her girlfriend and-if everything goes right-fiancé the happiest person in the world.

Finally, in two weeks, it would be Helen’s birthday, and April, was ready for it.

It was a beautiful blue sky day. There was not even one cloud in the sky. The most sunny day in one of the cold winter seasons. The perfect day. “Babe!” April said, “ since it is almost your birthday and Valentine’s Day, I decided that today, I would make it the best day of your life!” Helen looked at her. She trusted her. “Really?! Thanks babe! I love you” she said before she gave her a sincere smile and went to the car. They had driven off and were 5 minutes in the street when April’s phone rang. “Do you want me to get it for you?” Said Helen. “Yes, babe, please” April said, not getting her eyes of the road. Helen got the phone and started to say what it was saying. “Ok. Hi! Who is it?” She started, “April? This is her girlfriend. Yes, sure I can tell her. How much time? 20 minutes? Ok thank you, have a nice day.” Helen turned off the phone and looked at April. “Um…you made a reservation at my favorite restaurant?” Helen said with stars that light her light green eyes as she looked at April. Than held her hand “Wait! It was the restaurant?! We have to be there in 20 minutes?! Ok. I got this. I think. Well, I hope.” They kept talking and talking and April did not say nothing about her surprise. After more 10 minutes on the road, Avery thing went red. All cars stopped or moved extra slowly. What is happening? The two of them thought. They turned the radio on just to find out that there was a car accident in the bridge they were at. And that it would take up to 20 minutes to move clear again. Amazing! Thought April, looking at her watch. She need to be at the restaurant in 5 minutes or they would give their reservation to someone else. What will I do now? Where will we go? God! She must feel so bad! I can’t ruin her birthday! It’s her day! I can’t ruin it! They ended up there for 30 minutes. Looking at the sky. The beautiful blue sunny but still really cold sky. “It’s beautiful.” Helen said, than looked to April, “But the sky is not prettier than your deep blue eyes.” She said, and than held April’s face in her hand. “The best thing that ever happens to me,” she said and kissed April. It was amazing. Calm and lovey. Sweet and warm. Just like the love they felt for each other. When the cars started moving again, April drove to Helen’s favorite park, they had already lost the reservation, they would not lose the songs. She speed up and tried as hard as she could to be there at the right time. They got there and it was on the last song. Luckily it was Helen’s favorite. They danced. And Danced. Until it started raining hard. And hard. Hard. Everyone went home. The song was cut in half. And April was holding back all her tears. “Babe…?” Helen said. “It was supposed to be your day! But I ruined everything! How could I mess up so much just to do something simple?!” April said, with tears in her eyes almost getting out with the heavy rain that surrounded them. “You know what!” April looked back and came closer to Helen. “I love you! I love you so much that I was able to mess up a entire day just to do something! I love you!” Helen smiled. She hugged April and gave her a peck on the lips. “This entire day was supposed to be for you. So I won’t lose another chance!” April got down in one knee “Helen Marion Olioti, I love you. Will you marry me?” Tears fell from Helen’s face as she held April’s face on her hands. As she was about to answer but than the ring fell from April’s hand. “SHIT!” Helen started laughing. And than April joined her. Helen held he face again and looked deep into her deep blue eyes. “April Grace Garcia, I love you too. And, I will happily marry you.” She pulled her in for a kiss. From a rainy day, to two girls walking down the isle. The two were amazing. Of course some people thought that they were inappropriate, but they were happy. From two high school sweethearts. To three little kids. Love is love, no matter what.

Hi KellA, you're in my critique circle this week :) Cute little story! I like the concept. It does feel a bit...rushed? though. There were a lot of grammar mistakes I found pretty distracting, and the lack of paragraphs messed with the flow. There's also a lot of telling and not enough showing. I think this could really be expanded into something great. Some thoughts I had while reading: why didn't they call the restaurant to try and reschedule? Why was there music playing in the car? Did they just skip dinner then? Three little kids? Is ...
