"What to do what to do"

Raon sat on the roof of a 4 story high building, looking down on the mortals below. Eyes moving from left to right looking at random strangers walking down the busy street. It was already evening, Raon did not know what time it was nor did he care, knowing that it was evening was enough. Raon had intended to start work early since it was a special day but, even Gods procrastinate. Raon may not THE god, but Raon is still considered a god even though he may not be the big boss trickster god. Raon is more like a sub. The main trickster god has many underlings, gods, under her and Raon was just one of the many. Raon didn't mind not having, all that power, he liked how things are. Waking whenever he wanted, just having to do one trick per day, a pressure-free immortal life.

"What to do what to do", again Raon thought to himself, even if Raon was to shout those words on top of his lungs until he starts to cough because of overexertion, nobody could hear him. But shouting uses too much energy, Raon rather uses that energy to play games with his friends.

Today is a special day, April fools day. It's not special in any way for the gods, it does not hold any significant value nor historical meaning to be precise but to the humans, today is a day that is considered legal to “prank” anyone. A foolish holiday is was Raon thought but because the humans have declared it that way, The Trickster god decided to play along with the humans thus making the first of April also a special day for all trickster gods. As a trickster god, tricks done on April fools get paid twice as much than regular days.

A trickster god is paid based on the emotion that that specific trick he or she does manage to trigger. Like when Raon once did the classic banana peel fall trick. The person who was Raon’s victim or the spectators who just happen to witness the fall must have felt a certain emotion at that time, shame, anger, or sadness. The emotion most dominant felt by the people affected by the trick is measured and that is how a trickster god is paid. If a crowd is affected by the trick, the emotion of all those people is accumulated and thus making the pay higher. So it's more beneficial to prank a crowd of people or just prank one person but having tons of spectators.

"What to do, what to do", again Raon thought.

"Should I give that pregnant lady walking alone a little harmless tummy squeeze?" "I bet the look on her face would be amusing", Raon thought to himself. Don't worry everyone, the trickster gods have a very strong set of rules that they must abide by.

1.        Do no harm

2.        Take no life

The rules are quite ambiguous. There is no specific law or explanation about those rules. But Raon and the other trickster gods are given examples to truly make them understand the boundaries of doing a trick.

But just squeezing a mommy’s tummy isn't a prank worthy of April fools.

"What to do what to do...."

Raon later sees a man, he looks like he's in a rush, late for something important Raon assumes, since it's the evening, a date maybe?

"Should throw bird poop on his head? That would be funny. Watching him cuss his bad luck." Again this prank is good but was not worth April fools Raon thought

"What to do what to do...."

"I need something that goes boom boom, not little sparks." Raon desires to do something big but with the least energy needed to accomplish it. Raon then sees a toddler happily walking hand in hand with her mommy.

Interesting Raon thought, babies and women, are the most emotional creature, it's better to trick one baby or woman than two-man. Raon then closes his eyes and used his god's ability to see the future, well, it's not just his ability, every trickster god can see the future but only for a short period. It varies with each god. Raon, being the lazy god himself, that only does 1 trick per day thus his ability isn't very developed but Raon doesn't care.

Raon could see, in a few minutes, the little child would start running towards her father in the middle of a busy crowd, and they hug.

"Awwww, isn't that just cliche, let me do something about that."

Raon jumps back down from the 4 story building landing gracefully next to the child. Waiting for the perfect moment.

"Missy!" a man called out.

The toddler’s head turned and a wide cheerful smile made its way to her face.

"Daddy!" the little girl shouted running as fast as her tiny little legs would allow her.

Time for action.

Raon just simply put his leg out, tripping the poor little girl.

"Ahhhhhhhh!" Three people shouted at that exact moment, the father, the child, and the mother.

In a split second, the father threw himself on the ground to cushion his child's fall and the little Missy fell right into her father's arm. People stopped walking, heads turning, mouth gasping, worry written on their faces.

"1,2,3" Raon counted.

"Hahahhahahah," the child started laughing.

The father raised his head from the ground and looks at his child, a sigh of relief escaped his lips, and then he also smiled

"Oh god", he said

"Oh god", indeed, Raon thought.

Raon stood there as the scene unravel in front of him. You must think that Raon is a bad god for doing this, but then again remember the number one rule.

Do no harm

If he was to hurt the child, he would be punished, and a punishment from the god of trickster herself is not something to laugh about. When Raon stood beside the child, he used his ability again and saw what would happen if he was to trip the child, he measured the right distance so that the father could catch the little brat.

Raon was lazy, and getting punished would require him to exert a large amount of energy, he does not want that. Now the crowd suddenly starts clapping their hands, whistling, saying words of praise to the father for his fast reflexes saving his child. The mood was delightful. The mother came running and hugged her baby, kissed her on the cheeks, thanking her husband for being a hero.

Raon felt slightly surprised by the emotions he sees. He was expecting the mother to feel angry towards her child for running off or the crowd to feel infuriated at the mother for being careless but instead, he sees love as the dominant emotion with a hint of joy and thankfulness.

"That was a good trick", Raon praised himself. "It's a good first of April this year. Time to go back", and with that, Raon flew back to the heavens leaving the crowd feeling happy about the little incident they have today. It was indeed a trick well done.
