The preacher was running late, the church was over crowded and the groom was nowhere to be found. You called me to explain what a terrible day you were having. You didn't know it at the time but my day had been much worse. I came up to your suite to try and comfort you. I felt the cold stares from your bridesmaids and make-up lady who clearly didnt want me there. "Whats wrong?" I asked. "The congregation is way more than we expected, Lance still isnt here and now the preacher just called and said his car broke down so he's gonna be abit la...

My 8th grade teacher once said ,"when it comes to friends, choose wisely".On this particular day,I wasn't paying attention. I'll never forget the night it started. Mom and dad were out of town and I had the house to myself. I had my whole night planned out. A bowl of popcorn, three cans of soda and a night of endless movies. I laid back on the couch and enjoyed the luxury of being alone but unfortunately, just like Geoffrey Chaucer said ,"all good things must come to an end ". I was halfway through my first movie before being interrupted by ...

Mothers. We all have a mother figure, whether she left when you were young or raised you to be the person you are today. Whether she lives across town or lives in the next room. Whether she died when you were young or lived to see your children. Each one of us has a mother, the person who brought us into this world and history teaches us to honour our mothers for as long as we live. And I am no different. All that I am, or hope to be,I owe to my angel mother. My mother is my root, my foundation. She planted the seed that I base my life ...

The shingles were dark grey and the whole house seemed like it was a living horror movie. It's windows draped with spiderwebs and the glass had a thick permanent mist on it that reminded us of a fall leaf. The tree's gave an eerier feel to the house. It had been abandoned for almost thirty years. The old oak wood floor boards creeked when wind travelled on it and the wood seemed like it would collapse under the weight of a cat. The chimeny had moss on it from the moisture and dirt that had built up in the woods around the house and it s...

It was around eleven o' clock on a stormy night when Richard slowly hopped out of the warm hospital bed and approached the window. He'd normally be asleep at this time, but after the news he received today , his mind couldnt rest for even a second. Just a few hours ago his life long doctor diagnosed him with stage four cancer and told him that he only had a few weeks to live. Restless as imaginable,he drags himself across the room and has a look out the five floor high window. "Not much activity " he thought as he...

Meet Ray Huckstable,an old scammer who's been around the block. He had a thin face, black hair and dark brown eyes. His nose was slightly crooked from all the times he had been punched in the face. However the most interesting thing about his appearance was a thick scar halfway across his cheek from a good plan gone wrong. He had a million stories about how he got that scar but of course only one of them was true. And there he sat. Alone at the corner table sipping his drink. Q's bar was one of his favourite places. He'd spends countless n...

It was a warm summers afternoon and I had just woken up. I reached for my headsets to block out the loud noise that echoed from my neighborhood.Whether it was the children playing outside, the loud music from the neighbors or the constant bangs coming from the nearby construction site .I certainly was not in the mood to entertain this noise .After twenty minutes of lying still I decided to head out for abit. A little stroll would be nice, maybe even head pass Luke's place. I strolled down the road as the gentle Sun shone on everything in m...
