I don't care about reading, it's a waste of time. The idea of it is nice… To read something and feel what the characters are feeling, their grief, joy, rage, embarrassment and to feel the rest of the world fade away. Just you and the world you hold in your hands. I think that's why I followed and went along with this dumb trip, to find a library that hasn't been seen in a long time. They say the library holds every copy of every story and book written or to be written. I don't know how that's possible, but it caught my attention....
Salt. Water. Salt water. Salt water itself doesn't smell like anything, it's what in the salt water that gives it the smell. Whatever is in the salt water is stale and sulphury. I don't know what in the water that gives it that strange smell. Maybe its dead fish, bacteria or something entirely else. I don't really know, but it's thought provoking. Did you know that sulfur, the pale yellow element with the atomic number of 16 the one that can be found in soil, plants, food and water is used in a number of things? It's used in ...
Three teens stood outside the mansion, it had been abandoned for ten years now and no one was willing to buy it, but no one knew why. One of the boys walked over to the for sale sign that seemed to be replaced recently, the house never seemed to get anything replaced besides this sign. The boy kicked the sign down before glancing back at the girl holding a bag, he watched her reach into her bag before bringing out three flashlights and holding it out to him and the other boy. Each boy reached out before grasping the lights and flicke...

The longest day that never ends, well I would like to say it's me sitting in a classroom, but it's not school time, it's summer time. I could say it's the long summer nights spent awake looking up at the stars, but it's not, the longest day of the year, the day that never ends, is well today. Not your today, my today, it would be your maybe three years ago today, but for me it's been the same summer day over and over again, it not a bad actually, no school, I can goof off and do whatever I want, can rob a bank, travel, meet whoever I want,...
I’m on a summer road trip, but the only difference is that instead of a nice air conditioned car of sorts, I’m walking on the hot road, underneath the hot summer sun, so a trip yes, a road yes, just not the type of road trip you would think. I am not alone, I am with my worst enemy, can people have worse enemies? Yes, yes they can and this person is the worst, she is awful, but why am I with her because we were going to the same summer camp, but to get there you need to travel far. So my mom and her mom thought it would be a great idea for...
Honestly meeting that girl, Cianna after getting beaten to a pulp was a surprise, because she didn't just leave me to rot, but she did remind me of what my grandma had said so many summer nights ago, my grandma was known for being a tad crazy before she passed, but I remember the last thing she had told me. It had been a cool summer night with lightning bugs filling the sky, we had lemonade and cookies and I had been perfectly content with my life, with my future when my grandma called me over. I walked over and sat close to her. She looke...
Watching the sun come up was incredible, watching the colors spread out and the gold light hit my skin, it felt incredible, I looked at Miles, who apparently shall be my new best friend. He doesn’t know that yet, but he will.I got up and began to shove things into my bag and got up. Sleeping outside wasn't bad, I reached into my bag and grabbed some roots to chew on, I walked over to Miles and kneeled down, poking him in the shoulder, “Miles are you awake? How are you feeling? Miles wake up” he groaned as he swatted my hand away and sat...
The sun was dangerous, the light that would seep through and my people would fear it and be something to avoid at all cost, we were told if we were to go into the light we would melt like the wings of Icarus who was the son of Daedalus a skillful craftsman. I didn’t understand why we would melt, I wasn't made out of wax, well I was pretty sure I wasn't made out of wax, but I lived in a dark place, hardly any light and with people who were always scared and sad. I tried to make things better, make them less sad. I tried with m...

My town was next to a river, a winding, never ending river that was wide and deep. We weren't allowed to go near it, some of the people in my town say if we were to go too close we would drown and be in pain. Maybe I should have listened because I did drown, but didn’t die. Would I be sorry for leaving to the river, maybe. I did not die, I had fallen in, I had hit the bottom of the rocky river below, it was deep and cold and the rushing water swept me away, I emerged from the water, I was nowhere near home and my bones felt stiff from the ...
