The winner attitude

Once upon a time there lived a man named John Carter. He lived in the crowded streets of New York with his family - his wife Lily and two children - a boy and a girl. Their names were Harry and Mona. Harry was 10 years old and Mona was 7 years old. They lead a happy and peaceful life. John worked as a construction manager. His duty was simple, just to order workers to do a certain task. He was very rude with his workers , always yelling and ordering them. That's the reason why he was not treated friendly by his workers.

             One Saturday John and his family went for a picnic. They decided to go to the forest to build their tents. They were sure that there would be a huge crowd out came to enjoy the weekends. So, they had all the equipments ready.

             They went to the car and entered except John who was at the fence looking at his neighbours - Mr and Mrs Jefferson. They both were working in the garden. They looked tired and exhausted. Their bodies were covered with sweat and mud.

             Mr Jefferson looked at John and asked, " Well, Mr Carter, how do you do. It seems like you're going for a weekend".

             John looked at them angrily and said "Yes, yes we're going for a weekend, any problem ?".

            Mr Jefferson said "Oh, no we were just asking for our general knowledge "

      "Oh, but it doesn't seems 'General' to investigate about someone's family. "

      "You meant us wrong we were just...."

      "John" Lily called out. "Aren't we late for the picnic ?"

      "Coming dear, just talking to Mr. and mrs. Jefferson about some 'general' issues."     

John emphasised the word 'general' to make his neighbours annoyed.

       After this, he went to his car and they all started off for the journey. After almost an hour they reached the forest. As usual, the forest was busy with people all around. So their next work was to find a good place to sit. So John took his family to the inner forest where there were only some people. They seated there and now as John was relaxing he saw another family seated next to them.

       John saw the man's face and was astonished as it was his old friend Vulkar , who has changed a lot since he had seen him. He had gold necklace in his neck and diamond rings in his fingers. It looked so magnificent that John kept looking at them. By the time Vulkar had also seen John and smiled.

       Then spoke up ,"How do you do, John.," John who had been watching very attentively got distracted and then looked at his face.

       "Fine! " John replied

       "And how do you do "

       "Fine" replied Vulkar

       "It seems that you have an excellent impression on your boss " said John

        "No, but why did you asked? " asked Vulkar

        "Oh I thought that your boss would have given this all wealth for your loyalty" siaid John.

        "No, I don't do a job."

        "Why ?"

        "They didn't gave me much. "

        "How much did they gave you. "

        "Not much just $20000 a month "

        "And what was your job ? " 

        "I was a construction manager "

        "I am also in the same job but am paid only $10000 a month. You are so lucky "

        "I don't think so. I wanted more in my life"

        "What did you do after leaving your company "

        "I worked at a theater hall as a bodyguard where I got an idea to start my own company so afterwards I started it and now I am here "

        John being a narrow minded person could not believe his ears that a person aborted so many job just because he wanted more and how did he do that without a job. These all questions tossed in John's mind.

        In the evening it had grown dark so they all went to their house. Eveybody was happy except John who had been thinking only of Vulkar and his wealth. John was thinking this as then Lily called out for the dinner. After the dinner they all went to their respective rooms.

        John lied down his bed and thought just of Vulkar. He thought that if Vulkar could get such a success just by doing another job then why can't he and then he had a burning desire in himself that he would create as much as Vulkar had and no one can stop him. "

        After he took so much decisions a question aroused in his mind.

        Like "How will I become rich "

                 "What will I do "

                 "Who would give me the information about the tasks "

                 And many more.......

        John was so tired of thinking that he didn't knew when he fell asleep.

        The next day john almost forgot about his determination and went to his offic e without any thought. When he came back he was so tired that he sat down on the couch relaxing. As he was relaxing his child Harry came near him and asked

        " Dad why all the planets revolve only around the sun ? "

        John listened to the question carefully but couldn't answer it. So his son went to Lily and asked the same question and got the answer. Harry came running to his father and told him the answer and John was stunned to here this. After sometimes Lily came with a coffee and some snacks for John. When John saw Lily he asked her :

        "How did you answered the boy's question "

        "Oh that was an easy one, I always used to read books so I get answers to many of my questions " Lily replied.

        Now John remembered about his last- night commitment and then thought :

        "Let's try this out "

        He went to the library in his house and when he opened the door he realized that the last time he entered the room was last year. This room was built for Lily on her advice. John went near a shelf and picked up a book which reads '101 ways to make friends'. He took the book and went on the table for reading.

        He was so concentrated that he didn't knew what was happening outside the room. It was 10 o'clock and then Lily called out for dinner. Hearing Lily's voice John was just shocked. Then he closed the book and went to have dinner.

        After the dinner he was so tired that he went to the bed and slept. The next day when he came home he washed his face and changed his clothes. Then went to the library and read the whole book in just that day.

        The next day he went to his office in a good mood and that day was his best, he got appreciation from his colleagues. He was very happy.

        Now John had started reading more books and got knowledge about everything he could and just felt enlightened. The next thing was that he had to do something big and got an idea to start a business so he knew that he had a prior knowledge of construction materials so he started planning it.

        He started finding cheap labour and supplier of best materials. He asked his old friends and got the labour and material and within a year started his company .

        When his company was running well he thought that he should do something else.

         But what should he do?

         He was good at playing chess so started playing it at state levels and he had such a faith in himself that he practiced a lot. As he had thought he won the matches and at last won the international match also.

          When he won the prize he could not believe himself. And also his company became a multi million dollar company.
