Romance Sad Teens & Young Adult

This is a true story. A heartbreaking story. An honest story that tells you the truth about relationships. This story is about my sister- Clementine. Honestly, I feel like Clementine is going to kill me for this, but maybe she won't. Just in case she is planning to, I will have said one thing; I'm proud of her.

Clementine is the kind of girl who will do anything to get what she wants. Clementine is 19 and she has dropped out of college. She is pretty and she is tall enough to be a model. Clementine has big green eyes, amber hair, and her face is decorated with tiny freckles.

Hudson is 21. Hudson is Vegan and is one of those people who will try to persuade everyone to follow in his footsteps. Hudson thinks outside of the box. Hudson has shoulder-length hair that reminds me of the bark of an oak tree and he has beautiful brown eyes. Don't worry, I'm not hitting on him.

I'm not really sure how they met, but that is not important. What is important though, is the heartbreak and the way they dealt with it.

About 4 months ago, my sister called it quits. She believed that Hudson is way too overprotective and that she has no space. She was only allowed to have friends that were girls. She was only allowed to wear certain things. No social-media. She hated the rules Hudson placed.

Hudson wanted her to leave his house, but when she did, he was heartbroken. He wanted her more than any other girl in the world. She was the one, he knew it.

Clementine flew to Florida with her stuff and stayed with me and the rest of the family. Florida and California are pretty far from each other, and she believed that maybe the distance will heal each of their broken hearts. I don't know what she calls healing, but staying up until 6 AM, eating 5 times more than before the heartbreak, going back to vaping, cursing, and wearing mini-skirts for attention, then she is perfectly healed. While she was staying with us, we were having fun- Disneyworld, everglades, zoo's, but I know that inside she was hurting. She was hurting so much, that she often made jokes saying that Clementine has died. I know she was joking, but I also know that a part of her meant it. She did not shower enough or care about the way she looked or smelled. She picked on scars on her back and frustrated my mother. She was ruining herself.

Hudson was hurting too. He starved himself, cut off his long locks, and went back to smoking. they are not normal or well without each other, that is why the next time my sister asked what should be the next step, I told her to talk to him. Running away is never the answer. Not now, not ever.

She talked to him for hours. Hudson promised Clementine that he is going to change for her, be a better person. Let her hang out with whoever she wants to hang out with and let her wear clothes of her choice(to a certain extent). Clementine didn't know what to say, so instead, she cried. And cried. And cried. It was depressing watching her, I can only imagine what she was feeling. Her tears showed me that she loves him. After about a week of discussion, she decided she'll go back to LA and try this relationship thing one more time. Packing her up was hard, but the same thing happens with life. Running away is never the answer because you either have to leave everything, or take everything.

Hudson did change for her, and she was able to hang out with her friends without Hudson being in her way. Clementine thanked everyone for the support of her stupid heart. Clementine changed too. She signed up for college. She started caring for her body and how she looks. She watched her language, and hopefully quit smoking.

Hudson and Clementine are a perfect example of the struggles a relationship goes through, but if you talk about it, you can get over the struggle.

Three days ago, something amazing happened. Hudson proposed. Clementine said yes. I am so happy for them, I could cry.

I know that they will have struggles in their relationship, but more than struggle, they will have love and acceptance, respect and space, help and assistance. They will be happy. They will make each other into the best versions of themselves.

Clementine and Hudson will have beautiful children, an amazing off-the-grid house in the woods, just like they always dreamed of.

In other words, don't be afraid. Face your problems. Do what you have to do to be happy. And whatever happens, don't run away.

Their relationship inspired me to write a poem. A poem that summarizes this story and this relationship. I called it "Weaknesses".

Love is something that can brightly shine,

But is something that can darken to where it shines no more,

We feel it in the air, We feel it everywhere.

I love you and I know you love me,

But our love is not without struggle,

And that is okay.

Dreams come from the love we store,

But nightmares come from the love we loathe,

Now don’t get me wrong when I tell you right,

But we lose all too fast.

But love isn't always a pleasant sight.

Love is a beautiful creature,

Fragile, not like a feather, like a bomb.

One moment there are smiles and joy,

Another there is someone deciding to destroy,

Destroy the happiness of two people,

Make the whole world become sad.

A world built of anger and depression,

A world built of sadness and obsession,

In the end, love is a weakness,

But it is a weakness that can only make you stronger.

A weakness that will strengthen your heart,

And make you survive a bit longer.

My love for you is indestructible,

Nothing can break it-not bombs, not people.

My love for you is beyond immortal.

It is more powerful than vampires and werewolves.

It can stand through the greatest fires and floods.

We might get angry and frustrated at each other,

We might want to scream into each other’s faces,

But that does not mean that I do not love you,

That does not mean I do not respect you,

Because I do love you,

And I do respect you,

More than anyone in the world can imagine.
