Love/Lie

On a September morning Bella woke up feeling sad.’ Why cant it be holiday’. she hated school for she was picked for her sticking out teeth and hair that’s alway frizz. she felt she was ugly.

days passed. one day there was commotion in her class everyone was talking about it there is a new kid joining her class, a boy. Although Bella didn’t know who she had a excitement grow in her. Next morning she sat in her class early as usual so she can escape the people picking on her. Slowly the classroom filled the teacher came and took register. Suddenly ‘Bella’ the teacher called ‘Yes sir’ responded Bella. ‘Can you go and pick James the new student from head teachers office’ said the teacher. ‘ yes of course ’ said Bella and walked out of the classroom. Once outside she felt weird in her stomach and couldn’t explain why. She moved but didn’t know how she felt disconnected.

she was standing in front of headteacher office and knocked. ‘Come in’ headteacher said. Bella opened the door there she met James. he was tall handsome with blonde wavy hair and blue eyes. Bella felt lost. ’ah bella this is James, you here to take him to class’ said the headteacher. ‘ yes headteacher‘ replied Bella.

bella turned and started to walk with James following her. once in class the teacher told James to take his seat which was across where bella sat.

as much as Bella liked the new boy she kept saying he is handsome and popular why would he be interested in a ugly girl like me.

days passed james was good in everything Bella thought: sports, science, DT.. everything.

bella wished she was good at everything. Well she was except for sports and popularity. One day Bella sat in class as usual working when a familiar voice called her she was shocked its James. she looked up and said ‘yes’. James asked why she doesn’t talk to him whether she hated him. Bella was blushing and said ‘ no i don’t hate you. You didn’t talk to me so I didn’t and thought you didn’t like me’

‘ i like you but thought I wait for you to talk’. ’well my name is James‘ said James extending his hand. Bella felt her cheeks burn she shook his hand and said ‘ hi my name is bella’.

there their friendship started. Since that day James and Bella had many fun and adventure.

like every adventure theirs came to a point where they had to say bye. Bella felt her heart heavy as stone, but James was happy and excited about his future and what his plans were. Bella felt hurt maybe only she had feelings for him. So they said goodbye and took their step to a new adventure as adults.

what Bella was unaware was that her parent being laid back have chosen a suitor for her without discussing with her. bella being a obedient girl thought her love didn’t come true so why be a burden and agreed for the marriage.

she studied after marriage and in a way felt happy because her husband was sweet and loving to her. She felt safe and spoke everything to his her past and her wishes of future and her husband was relaxed about everything.

Bella thought she is very lucky.

mad days passed Bella became pregnant and felt joy.

everything was going happy. She gave birth to a boy and came home however her husband was grumpy after couple of weeks saying ‘ why is the baby crying all the time? I can’t sleep. Take him and sleep in the next room’

bella said ‘ he is a baby and that’s what babys do cry to tell what they need’. since arguing is no use she took the baby and went to the second room and slept.

next day bella put the baby to sleep in the second room with baby monitor and went to sleep but her husband was upset ‘why are you sleeping here? I told you I need rest. Go sleep with the baby’ Bella said ‘ I put the monitor so if he wakes I will go’

at this her husband looked furious and said ‘ so more than taking care of your child sleeping with me is important for you? ‘ Bella felt disgusted and hurt and went to the baby’s room and slept. he didn’t talk about that night and carried on as if nothing happened Bella thought she is over reacting. She carried on sleeping in baby’s room on a bed while her hisband slept next door.

some days he will come into the babys room where Bella slept wake her up and ask her to join him once his fun was over he would push Bella and say go and sleep in your bed. Bella came to the next room and cried. Thinking whether any of this a normal.

bella wished he can understand and this could be a family but things only got worse. soon her husband called off work drank a lot and vanished for days. Bella didn’t know what to do. She tried to talk to her mother. At first her mother said you need to be a good wife he is a good man.

bella could not endure any longer as he became not only verbally but physically abusive. Bella decided to leave her husband and was preparing everything.

that’s when she received a phone call it was the police ‘ hello we Are calling from hospital there was a major accident and regret to inform you your husband passed away’.

Bella felt relief sad doubt of how everything is going to carry on. And started crying, she didn’t know how long she cried for. She felt her eye swollen and weak.

after relaxing for a bit Bella thought whatever my future can’t be worse than the hell i was in. with a hope she picks the phone to inform everyone of what happened and tries to get strength to be there for her son. he needs her!
