There once was an octopus that preferred the sand. Everything, everyone in the water she found scary. She felt so much safer out of her own environment. The water was too cold, but the gravel? Just right! “Penelope!” called her mother, “Penelope!” called her father, as she scurried away with a land creature. All of a sudden, Penelope's ride stopped, and there came a loud ringing. The tall creature called for his mother. The Little Octopus soon realized that they were inside some sort of land cave!
The Cave
The cave was surprisingly big for being on land. It was also cozy. Penelope got off of the creature and found a squishy pink blob. She heard the land creatures in the distance. She wondered what kind of creature the blob was. She wandered on, until she discovered a furry cloth of some sort. She turned around three times and laid down. "I could get used to this... Zzzzzzzz, ” as Penelope drifted to sleep.
The Quest
While she slept, she didn’t realize that she was moving. The land creatures had discovered her and brought her back to the beach, tossed her in the water, and walked away. Penelope awoke to find herself back under the water with no sign of land. As the ocean current caught her by surprise, Penelope started to tremble with terror. Suddenly, the ocean was clouded purple. Penelope was embarrassed at the highest level possible, and ended up glancing around. In a heartbeat, she was surrounded by terrified animals. The eldest one came up to Penelope and implored, “On this quest you must go before its contents do explode, for this quest a friend you will need if you want to succeed.” Penelope's jaw fell open, “I'm not strong enough!” she thought to herself. I don't have any friends… who's going to go with me?" she whimpered.
Onward!
Penelope searched the crowd for a partner. Everyone seemed to be avoiding eye contact. “I”ll do it,” said Dash in as courageous a voice he could pull off. Penelope’s heart leaped. Someone had agreed, and someone so brave, he could have gone on the quest without her if he liked, but instead he decided to share the spotlight and make her smile. Dash was the fastest creature in the seven seas! Even though he was a seahorse, that didn't stop his speed! He knew the ocean like the back of his tail! And so off they went on their epic new adventure. Penelope felt comforted that someone liked her enough to risk not only his life, but the entire ocean!
Shipwrecked
Not far from their starting point, the partners stumbled upon a sunken ship. " It looks spooky down there,” shuttered Penelope, “ I'm not afraid!” exclaimed Dash. Not long after Dash and Penelope departed, Dash came flying back in a flash. “Let's get out of here!” he wailed. “It’s my turn to take action,” Penelope announced proudly, “ I’ll go nice and slow, though.” She remembered what the eldest had told her, “ before its contents do explode.” She thought about underwater things that explode- Geysers and underwater volcanoes. In the boat, she found a notepad with newly discovered information on an active underwater volcano!
What now?
Penelope burst back up to Dash with the notepad, and proved that they were dealing with an active underwater volcano. " Let's find some cool rocks and cover the volcano with them! The only thing is I have no idea where to find them…” They both paused as suddenly as they had started. “Well, that was just weird.” Dash stated, breaking the awkward silence. “Looks like we have a start to our plan,” answered Penelope, as she unfroze and returned to focus.
The Plan
First things first, where would they get cold rocks? Rockzania? Or… just maybe… The Bermuda Triangle. Penelope knew that The Bermuda Triangle was a dangerous and mysterious place where things went missing. but she was willing to take the risk to save the entire ocean. If they were going to enter a place this Risky, they would need to be prepared for whatever came their way.
The Bermuda Triangle
Crash! The tall wave hit the sharp rocks. “ Are you sure this is the only way?” Dash trembled with fear.“ If we continue for two and a half miles more we’ll stand directly in the middle of the triangle.” Two and a half miles later they uncovered an unanticipated sight. Something Penelope had never even thought she'd see - something she had never even thought existed. Something she thought had gone from the world many years ago, gone from existence for all eternity. they're in the middle of the triangle stood the sunken Titanic!
The Titanic
Floorboards Creek as they made their way through the giant ship. next to a long dark hallway. At the end of the door it was open just enough for Penelope to see a blinding light on the other side. at the jewel entered through the door Penelope caught sight of the cold rocks. Surprisingly they were placed in the center of the Cove on a pedestal covered in seashells and small pebbles. As the two of her tentacles reached out to touch the Rocks, fog emerged from underneath her. One second they were alone, the next surrounded
Pirates
The fog cleared as the figures materialized in front of them- pirates. There was nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. How would you get the cold rocks now? They were running out of time. “Dash jump and scare me,” whispered Penelope,” I have one more trick up my sleeve.” Confused, dad started to ask “why,” but decided to give it a try. ”On the count of three! one, two, boo!” As - scared Penelope the room clouded with purple, ”quick, grab the rocks!” Dash grabbed the rocks with no hesitation and they made their getaway.
Tick Tock
The two sea creatures raced across the sea attempting to save the world just in the nick of time. Penelope, being an octopus, slowed them down. This frustrated Dash with the fact that he was the fastest creature in the entire ocean. The sandy ground beneath you started to rumble. “It's going to erupt any minute now,” screamed Penelope. “Dash, take the rocks and save the day! I'm too slow! The weight of the whole ocean lies on your shoulders.” Dash rushed to the volcano, halfway around the world! “Just… a little… further.” he thought. It was likely this was going to be his last time running at the speed of light. I thought he might have been good as a hero.
Hero
The screams of innocent creatures echoed through the water as Dash sprinted to his Doom. He gulped hoping that there would still be time the rumbles grew louder as he neared the volcano he could almost feel the heat of the volcano hitting him like waves against the shore. His tail brushed the side of the volcano as he began to slow to a stop. Have I saved it? Did I really save the entire ocean from peril? The Earth vibrated, as his heart sank. He braced himself for the dramatic fall to the ground as he assumed he was dead. As nothing hit him, he awoke to Penelope wandering towards him. “Well that's over.” They found this hard to believe themselves. They tried taking their minds off of the danger they had just put themselves in, “Race you to the other side of the world!” After everything they've been through, this seemed like a breeze, "You're on!”

The story has a lot of imagination and energy — Penelope the octopus is a fun, unusual main character, and the mix of underwater creatures, pirates, and even the Titanic gives it a big, adventurous scope. There’s clearly no shortage of creativity here.
To make it stronger, you might focus on keeping the story tighter and easier to follow: pick a few key adventures for Penelope rather than so many, and spend more time showing what she feels or learns in each scene. Breaking the longer sections into shorter paragraphs and using simpler sentences could also help the reader stay engaged and enjoy the action.
