Kath awoke at the crack of a noise, her heart pounding as she heard the loud thud. She had only been asleep for short while, but it was enough to put her in a deep sleep.
Disoriented and still half-asleep, she stumbled over her own discarded shoes before regaining her balance and hurrying to investigate the source of the disturbance. As her eyes adjusted to the dim light, she gasped in horror as realisation dawned on her - her beloved pink mobile phone was missing from its usual spot on her nightstand. Someone had broken into her bedroom and stolen it in the middle of the night. The room felt violated, like an intruder had rummaged through her personal belongings. She frantically searched for any clues or signs of a break-in, but she could not see anything. Fear and anger coursed through her veins as she realised that someone had not only taken her prized possession, but also invaded her safe haven.
The thief had been fast - so fast that he had managed to escape with her pink mobile phone before she could catch him. Kath breathed deeply, gathering her strength before she reacted.
Kath's eyes widened as she noticed the thief had transformed the wall in the hallway into a canvas of sorts - a spray painting in multiple vibrant colours. It was a picture of a street that looked like it was on the other side of town.
She knew immediately that her power was at work, as she could see the painting pigment was slightly twinkling, and that she could use it to catch up to the thief.
She focused on the trail of paint left behind by the thief and felt a rush of energy towards her. She could sense that if she followed this trail, it would lead her right to her pink mobile phone - and so, with determination in her eyes and a newfound confidence in her ability, Kath began sprinting down the corridor and into the painting.
The painting changed with each step she took into it, opening up into portals that allowed Kath to traverse through walls and ceilings and other surfaces as if they weren't even there. She moved with grace and agility, dodging obstacles as they appeared before her while still keeping an eye on where the thief had gone.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity of running, Kath emerged from one last portal to find herself face-to-face with the thief - holding tightly onto her beloved pink mobile phone. She smiled triumphantly as she tried to reclaimed it from his hands, she collapsed on her knees onto the floor in exhaustion.
The thief had left his mark on the wall - a trail of silvery paint that glinted in the morning light, leading out of the room and into the hallway. Kath followed the trail, walking through the spray painting as if it were a portal, emerging on the other side with a newfound purpose.
The thief had disappeared into the city, but Kath was determined to track him down. She ran through the streets, dodging people and unusual animals, always keeping her eye on the silvery trail. Finally, she spotted him in an alleyway - a tall figure covered in black. Kath made her way towards him, her heart racing in anticipation.
The thief was caught off guard by her sudden appearance, but before he could react, Kath was already upon him. She grabbed hold of his arm and demanded to know where he had taken her fluff pink mobile phone. He refused to answer, but there was no denying the fear in his eyes as he stared at her.
Kath knew she had him cornered, so she took a chance and reached out with her power once more. With a single thought, she was able to bring the spray painting from her bedroom into the alleyway. It spread across the walls with a loud hiss, and the thief gasped in shock as he realized what she was capable of.
As Kath raised her hand to the spray painting, a faint glow appeared around her fingers, illuminating the dark alleyway. She moved her hand in a graceful arc, creating a shimmering opening in the painting. Beyond it lay a dimly lit tunnel, lined with slick walls and dripping with water. The sound of dripping water echoed throughout the tunnel, along with the muffled noises of the city streets beyond the painting.
As she stepped through the gap, onto the damp ground, there was a soft squelching sound under her feet. The painting reformed behind her, leaving no trace of her entrance.
The thief had no chance of escaping now - Kath had him cornered.
"Give it back," she demanded, eyes flashing with determination as she flicked her wrist and created another gap in the painting. She stepped through to confront him, heart racing.
He trembled in fear, but still tried to play it cool. "What phone?" he stammered, trying to hide the stolen pink mobile.
Kath narrowed her eyes. "My phone. The one you took from my room. I know it was you."
Realizing he was caught, the thief reluctantly handed over the phone, muttering apologies.
Kath snatched it back triumphantly. "That's what I thought." She glared at the thief, her eyes burning with rage.
"Sorry."
"Why did you take it?"
"I need money and I was going to sell it.I need food as I am hungry."
"just ask next time. You be spurs how people will be kind to you."
With a simple nod, he backed away, cowering in fear as he scrambled to get away from her. Kath watched him go, satisfied that justice had been served. She had her pink mobile phone back, and he had learned his lesson, she thinks.
Kath stepped back through the painting, emerging on the other side with her mobile phone safe and sound. She smiled, her heart full of relief and joy. She had done it. She had used her power to reclaim what was rightfully hers.
The thief was apprehended shortly afterwards, thanks to Kath's quick thinking and unique abilities. From then on, she kept her pink mobile phone close - knowing full well its potential to be stolen.
