Fiction Romance Sad

it was in the early summer mthunzi had decided to take a break on an actual relationship after his nasty relationship with Zandy that ended so badly with pyscho zandy being a killer and a hella crazy.

he didnt wanna be in a serious relationship again. all he did was party and well.... wake up each and everyday with an unknown call girl by his side.

he was all about one night stands. he didnt show any ounce of romance to any of those girls he picked up at the clubs and malls.

he was just rough with them when it came to sex and will coldly ask them to leave the next morning without any small talks.

he believed laughter and pillow talks were the ultumate disaster.

those were the recipe to get girls clingy and falling for you and he wasnt about that. he just wanted fun with no strings attached. that is until that faithful day. that cold gloomy, rainy summer day where he met mbally.

everything changed that day.

he was on a lunch break and had decided to go to the restaurant down the road to grab a bite. he parked his polo got in the restuarant took a seat and ordered a meal not forgetting getting flirtty with the female waitress that was serving him.

" i hope the food will be delicious as you" he remarked the moment the waitress placed his order infront of him.

" trust me its the best sir" the poor girl responded quite smitten by the fact that this handsome guy was making a pass at her.

mthunzi: i trust you.

he flashed a smile and winked at her the waitress smiled like a retard as she walked away.

mthunzi ate his meal then when he was about to leave he asked for the bill. he paid leaving a huge tip for the waitress and a note with his number " call me" was written on the note.

he proudly exited the restaurant as he felt the waitress's eyes lingering on his back. when he got outside it was already raining cats and dogs.

he quickly ran into his car and drove off. just when he was about to park near his office building he had a loud splash and a woman screaming.

he got out only to find that he actually splashed a lady with water.

the lady was soaking wet.

in that split second he had to admire the beauty that stood before him.

an encouter with a damsel. even in her soaking wet state this lady was an epitomy of beauty with a killer body. mthunzi could see it perfectly because her flowy purple dress was well pasted on her nicely built body exposing her firm round breast, her wide hips and big behind all topped with a tiny waist.

" owh my god....owh my god this just had to happen" she screamed attempting to wipe the water from her face

her lament literally brought mthunzi back to life.

" am so sorry. i really didnt see you there" he said.

her: its ohk. damn i just wish my car was here. i cant go back to work looking like this.

mthunzi: i can drive you home.

her: thats so nice of you but you dont have to.

mthunzi: i insist. i put you in this state and its only right i take you home.

her: am wet. i will mess your car.

mthunzi: dont sweat it.....allow me to do this.

her: ohk. thank you for stopping. someone else would have kept driving after splashing me with the water.

mthunzi: i just wish i could have paid more attention. please get in.

he opened the passenger door for her. she got in with her handbag and heels in her hands.

mthunzi went to the driver's side and started the car.

" i stay in west park avenue on the new plots" she said.

mthunzi: hau i only stay few streets down those plots. how come i never met you.

my name is mthunzi by the way.

her: am mbalentle. but my friends call me entle.

mthunzi: i will just call you mbally. your beauty is indeed of a flower.

her: thank you.

they kept having small talks getting to know each other.

by the time they got to the plots they were talking like old friends. mbally was going through a nasty divorce and had just moved in the area to get a fresh start on life.

mthunzi was somehow taken by her. he was so attracted to her and felt the need to get to know her more.

after she changed he drove her back to her workplace which was few buildings from his workplace. they exchanged numbers and promised to meet later just to blow some steam.

thats how their relationship started. mbally was really a humble girl who had witnessed a lot of pain and mthunzi felt like it was his job to remove that pain from her life.

But then Mthunzi has always been a player, no matter how hard he tried he could never commit to one woman. It must be that same reason that he started cheating again after two years of his marriage to mbally.

even through the infidelity and endless quarrels mbally still stayed with him.

it was clear that she loved the man and was willing to risk everything because of him.

But the moment mbally walked in on him sleeping with their maid was the final straw.

She took her belongings and left, leaving their two months old baby girl with him, she never came back and mthunzi never bothered looking for her, he thought that he will come back like she always did after their endless fights.

few weeks later, mthunzi stood by the window watching the drops of rain drizzling down the glass.

it was like a game really, a senseless race, its like each drop wanted to be the first to hit the ground. joys of gravity.

each drop seemed to like the thought of hitting the ground and not getting back up. if only he could be like them. not giving a fuck about anything. how he wished he could be down and out and not give a damn about getting back up. how he wish he can live his life freely with no society there, watching like hawks. he felt suffocated its like he was living in a glass and everyone was looking at him.

everyone had something to say about his life and how he lives it. some showered him with so much pity. they felt bad for him. they felt bad for the man who was tasked with raising a baby alone.

stereotype of society, when a woman takes care of her baby alone, its acceptable but when the man is faced with that same task it becomes a different story. everyone throws a pity party for that man.

mthunzi blinked away the tears that threatned his eyes, man dont cry, he reassured himself. for someone who dreaded the public opinions he really was self-conscious. he cared way too much about the public perspective and how he could be judged if he were to do certain things.

he looked back at the baby cot. his daughter was still sound asleep. atleast he could properly breathe for some few hours. Lethu was a handful. she cried almost none stop. it has been really a hectic few weeks. even though mthunzi's mother was there to help, once lethu started wailing it was a mission to calm her down.

all thanx to Ntombi, the nurse they met at the hospital. she came over almost everyday to check on baby lethu and bring with her bottled breastmilk which lethu seemed to be so fond of. lethu was so fussy when she was fed the artificial powered milk that they've bought. she prefferred breast milk which was another hustle and painful remainder of the huge responsibility that mbally had left him with.

it was clear that he needed mbally back but was way too sturbbon to go search for her.

he quickly wiped his tears and looked back at the window.

he felt as gloomy as the weather was. he recently really started to hate rainy weathers, it made him sad and lonely. he hated it more because now it brought back unwanted memories. it reminded him of the very first time he met mbally.

" your breakfast is ready" mbally's mom disturbed her from her trip down memory lane.

" am not hungry mah.." she responded vaughly without looking at her.

her: i dont wanna hear that. you will eat that food. this is getting out of hand. you are scaring me.

you lock yourself in this room, you nolonger go to work, you dont wanna eat. look at how skinny you are. do you wanna die, are you trying to kill yourself with starvation. you will have to kill me first before you die. god knows i cant loose you

mbally: mom please am not gonna die. you like exxagarating things

her: do you blame me? have you looked at your self lately. you look like a skeleton

mbally: haaa mah. am i that bad

her: maybe a little.

mbally: fine then i will go eat....are you happy now.

her: i will only be happy when i see empty plates.

mbally: geez fine. give me a minute i wanna wash my face.

her: five minutes. you better hurry up because i know you, once i leve you wont eat.

mbally: fine mah am coming.

her: fine.

she exited and mbally took a deep breathe. she really didnt feel hungry. only mthunzu knew how she preffered her breakfast. leaving mthunzi was the worst thing.

She went to the bathroom to freshen up, she really missed her daughter and husband, but was too afraid of being hurt again, so she had promised herself that she would not go back.

Clearly they were both misrable without each other but neither one of them was will to compromise for their marriage.
