Creative Nonfiction Contemporary Teens & Young Adult

The spectra filling the eyes, the air becoming breath, the wind knocking the tiny eardrum but big enough to make her hear but that’s not what she is processing,

she is longing for the rhythmic music that stuck her head for some months now.

She then becomes the apple of their eyes and she became all the love they can ever imagine of.

Sleepless nights became intertwined in the mother’s schedule and neither she complains nor gives up about it. It’s all for the tiny bud blossoming right before her eyes. Cared and confused about the words of their relatives on bringing up the child she stood as if she herself was a child. Every moment she felt the breath of her child, she felt most alive.

Tired on the way to home, but not when home is near. Her crystal eyes and happy cheeks made him faster than the train that is taking him home. The sight of father at the doorstep gave a new dimension to already existing colors and guess what he even brought them hot meals. How and who can be so much

sacrificing ?

Day by day she grew up like a note becoming a tune and her parents enjoyed listening to the music she sung in the years.

Fairies and Peculiar creatures entered her life like rainbow on a rainy day to fill her with awe. And yes, they also stayed just for while like the rainbow did. Soon the thoughts that revolved within the self jumped to the ocean of emotions, her parents. Startled and surprised about the amount of questions she asked, the ocean showed her the colors that they reflected throughout their life.

Though new faces appeared from nowhere she always was looking for the company of her parents. The first steps to the school was like entering her snake world, fearful yet excited. The recombination of genes was everywhere as her eyes strolled the classroom.

Tall, slender and beautiful like a typical teacher as the society characterized, came into the classroom. True or quotidian happiness, she brought on her face after seeing the children in the classroom. The first class for her ended up like an endemic species put up in a cosmopolitan class.

She reached her rubble soon in the mid afternoon and was chilling in her toy pool already. The parents came in to see her, to their surprise, they found her in the hands of deep dreams. Without wanting to disturb they did not leave the place rather they fixed their altruistic eyes upon her to protect her even in her happy nap.

Like milkshake to gourmet milkshake her teens years already tasted awesome flavors.

But there were moments where the milkshake went rancid and she didn’t like it any more. Because her way of living did not fall under the tariff of the society’s typical trash.

For the first time in her life she felt what hate feels like. Growing up smelling the fragrance of true love she never knew how the hatred would stink.

Being a big girl now she did not want to take it to her parents. There is two different kind of emotions involved in here. She did not want her parents to know that their child is not accepted very well in the group and also she thought it would let her self esteem down since she is already on her teen toes.

The teenager’s brain is a hospice for emotions. Several guests in the form of happy, sad, anger, guilt, tired, worried, surprise etc.. come and dine in the brain, enjoying the taste of nerves. Each harsh bite of them makes us go numb. And now the guests are already enjoying their feast in her brain.

Flashes of the past carried her without her permission. She thought it was to the graveyard of depression. But no.. They carried her to the heaven of enlightenment to show what life was. Sometimes in life when we feel that why am I even living this life, Life shows up like the stars in the dark cloud. When the night falls, the thing that comes to our mind is “Oh! Its already dark outside”. I wonder why we all don’t trust the stars above. Yes, I agree that stars don’t shine so much to light our path but they at least show up to remind you that there is light.

Now she came out of her groove and the first thing she heard was " I thought you will love this shake, so I bought it”. Her whole world swirled the moment she understood that there is always someone who loves you more than you think. Even if there is no one to love you remember your body works every second to keep your safe from the millions of microorganisms that is waiting to host your body. Now tell me, who can be more protective to you?

Breathe, don’t let the pressure suck in the air.

Humans started the fire to survive, now they fear that it may burn them alive.

Humans hunted to feed the hungry, now the vegans are storming angry.

Humans covered themselves in clothes, now they tear up the same clothes.

Humans got a job to fill up their free time, now they curse the job for it grabbed their free time.

Humans slept to regain energy, now they stay awake searching things to boost their energy.

Humans learnt science to understand their surroundings, now they can’t even understand themselves.

Humans restored clear air through trees, now they cut the trees to decorate the factory that produces them clean air.

Humans ate fruits to flush out toxins, now they eat the same fruits in packed plastics.

Humans grew veggies in manure for their nutritious growth, now they spray pesticides on the same veggies for their nutritious growth.

Humans ate bitter gourd for better health, now they have sugary bitter gourd on their healthiest menu.

Humans exercised to build their body strong, now they exercise to pull the society’s view so strong on their side.

Humans went through diet to help their bodies to live, now they diet by putting their bodies to death.

They said the triangle triumphs, later they said the hourglass is high, now they say that the rectangle is probably regal!

So when the human nature is literally a toss up, why wait for the head’s land when the tail is also a part of the coin. If your toss wasn’t a head up this time, just wait to see the society call the tail’s land the trend. Humans, Human behavior, Human lifestyle is like that heavy rain on a very hot day, so carrying an umbrella advantages both the extremes.

And let that umbrella be the attitude of being yourself.

Ended the last page of her first book.
