"My choice"

"Liam, don't you trust me. I'm your girlfriend. We've been dating for several months now. I want to do more than just kiss. I want to feel your heartbeat close to mine." Liam's girlfriend said. "Don't we already do that when we hug?" Liam said. "You know what I mean. I want to have consensual intimacy with you. I want lips to lips. Skin to skin. Body to body. I say intimacy." Liam's girlfriend said. "I just don't feel comfortable." Liam said. "You don't feel comfortable. You don't feel comfortable. What do you think would happen when we started going out? Did you think we would just hold hands, kiss, and cuddle with one another like we are kids. Liam, we are not kids. We are going to be adults soon. Love is about sacrifice. Don't be selfish Liam. Make a choice : either sacrifice your first time for me or keep it and lose me. I'll be waiting for an answer on monday. Till then don't call me, don't text me, and don't even think about showing up unannounced at my door." Liam's girlfriend showed Liam the door. He left willing but worried. Liam at home in his room thought about his conversation with his girlfriend. He went down stairs and talked to his mother about it but said it in such a way that it seemed as though he was talking about someone else. His mother said, "If you don't want to do something and your partner is forcing you to do it then they don't deserve you. Love is about accepting and caring about your partner. Sacrifice happens, it happens to better the relationship. Sacrifice isn't one way it affects both persons. If you don't want to do something, don't do it. Don't stress." Thank you, mom. Liam said on his way to his room. On monday after school he met with his girlfriend. Liam's girlfriend sighed and said, "Have you decided." Liam said, "Hayley, you don't respect me. That's okay. I respect myself. I am not giving you an answer. If you've been listening to me, you would know what my answer is. You gave me a choice, now our relationship is over. Thank you Hayley, for teaching me one more thing in life." Liam left. "So that's it, you aren't going to try to get me back." Hayley shouted. Liam just continued walking and did not for a second turn around. On his way home he passed by a bakery. He bought vanilla strawberry cheesecake remembering it's his mother's favorite cake mostly in the cheesecake category. He called his mom to ask her a question. The phone rang, rang, and rang. She answered. "Hello" "Hi mom, umm I wanted to ask, are you at home right now?" "I'm not at home, I'm at work." Liam's mother answered. "Can I come over, I want to drop something off." Liam told her. "Sure. What are you dropping off? Liam's mother said. "It's something you would like." Liam said "You are taking the bus or train right?" Liam's mother asked. "No, I am walking there, it's not far from where I am." Liam told his mother. "Okay" Then his mother ended the call. Liam passed many shops and several businesses. He picked up some yellow flowers because they are his mother's favorite. Finally arrived at her work. He entered, went to the front desk and asked for directions to his mother's office. After being directed he took the elevator and went up to the 7th floor. "Hi Mommy," he said. "That's my son." Liam's mother told everyone. "Here you go." Liam said. "What's this? These are not my favorite flowers but you tried. You got my favorite type of cheesecake, thank you honey." Liam's mother said with appreciation. "Thank you mom. Thank you so much." Liam said sniffling and tears filling his eyes. "What's wrong honey?" Liam's mother asked. "Nothing is wrong. I am just grateful to have you as a mother and to have you as my advisor." Liam said. Liam and his mom came in for a hug. She sat him down and asked him to tell her everything. Liam told her everything from when he and Hayley first started going out to till now. It was a long story. With every word he said she nodded her head back and forth. She stood and went to get some water for him to drink since he took a long walk coming here. He sipped, sipped, and sipped. "It was a good I gave that advice then. She shouldn't have put you in that situation. I am going to talk to her parents about her behavior." Liam's mother said. "Please don't, it is just going to make everything and just getting over this much harder for me." Liam said. "Okay, when you feel better I will go over to Hayley's home and talk with her parents. And I promise I won't get into a fight that requires hands on and in other words touching." Liam mother said. "Thank you" Liam said. Liam waited on the side while his mother worked. The place wasn't very busy. Everyone was moving up and down. Answering phone calls. Celebrating the birthday of a fellow co-worker. Attending meetings. Going to interviews. Judging Interviews. Selecting interviewees and those who are going to judge and hire those fit for the job. Like Liam said the place wasn’t very busy, at least from his point of view. Time passed, he started to feel drowsy. His eyes were closing then suddenly opening. His body was leaning off to the middle of nowhere and suddenly jumping out of his seat. Every time he did that, some people in there got scared for a second. Finally, he fell asleep. Time passed and his mom shook him. “Honey, honey” she whispered then said, “It's time to go”. “Okay let me get my stuff.” Liam said, waking up from his sleep.  “I already got your stuff, it’s in the car. Come on get up.” Liam’s mother said. Liam got up and first went to the bathroom. Then he and his mother went to the elevator after saying goodbye to some of her co-workers. Took the elevator to the lobby. Entered their car and went home to finish eating that delicious vanilla strawberry cheesecake.
