Death is like sadness because it feels like a knife stabbing you in the heart.

It was the night of October 31st and it wasn’t spooky just yet. At already 6pm, it began to become cold and windy. The wind started blowing in my direction covering my full face. Surprisingly, it wasn’t completely dark yet.
My house was ready for Halloween, but I knew I wasn’t fully ready. As I took a hot shower, I put on my witch costume from the dollar store and started with my black mascara. I added my purple lipstick and green eye shadow. I made sure I put on a fake black wart to look like a witch.
Halloween is the time where anyone can be anything and even though I wanted to be a witch, I’m not really that evil. My street is tiny and there is hardly any action, even though I live on Bloor Street in downtown Toronto. Everyone on Bloor Street dresses up, decorates and celebrates as it is a celebration for everyone.
Who doesn’t want free candy? I know I do and will always go trick or treating no matter how old I get.
Hours later, there were many groups of young kids who came up to my door. I wasn’t home but my mom was the one giving candy to the bratty kids who were coming to the door.
Meanwhile, I was having the time of my life trick or treating all alone. I was carrying my flashlight until it dropped, and slammed hard on the ground leaving a dent.
It was the first time my heart couldn’t stop beating so fast. I knew I was in a crisis. An old man jumped out from the bushes and threatened to kill me with a knife that he was using to carve from a pumpkin.
The knife had a silver blade and the handle was a scary red colour. The knife looked as clean and sharp as new. But still, that moment was the scariest time of my life.
I was running away from this guy and I called the cops on him. The cops were busy as it was the scary night of Halloween. I began to get stressed again as the cops could take forever. Apparently, there was a crime before with this person in the past, he was in jail for five years and just got out yesterday.
There was a legend noted saying that the knife was used a long time ago back then when someone would use that specific knife just to carve many pumpkins. There would be mini designs and different shapes.
20 minutes later the cops finally showed up and took that person back to jail. It ended a bit, I almost got lost and killed as the clock struck midnight. I was able to come home on time and still got a ton of candy.
I rang the doorbell and my mom opened the door, put a gun to my head and shot me dead. I was never found again and no one knew about it. It was locked up in a book in a library.
The young girl was shot dead and it was surrounded all around the news. The young girl was only seventeen years old and killed by a forty-three-year-old woman, which was the mom.
There are no other kids in the family except for the parents who are divorced. I decided to create posters of the murder and I decided to speak to the young girl’s mom to see why she did what she did. Her response was concerning and scary.
After going to the home to interview the mom, I suggested that she needed to talk to someone like a counsellor. Funny enough, my name is Kelsey and when I don’t film the news, I work as a counsellor.
Making the decision of admitting the mom into a hospital to heal and talk to other professionals as a huge support system. I drove the mom to the hospital after giving a questionnaire. She was so aggressive.
Thankfully I dropped her off, and I didn’t have to see her ever again. The hospital was great for the mom and there was so many staff that were keeping an eye on her. Hopefully, she feels better soon.
All I know is that she will be there for a few months, trying to heal in peace. My close friend Amelia was the nurse who took care of the mom most of the time. Every day, there would be many different blood tests and exams to see the mom's blood pressure.
I felt more annoyed than ever. Every minute my phone beeped.
It was a text from Amelia. Amelia was telling me how much it bothers her that she was put in charge to help the young woman's mom. I could tell, Amelia had nothing positive to tell me, and she was only bothering me.
Amelia would work from midnight all the way to midnight again, with no breaks or no anything. Amelia’s self-esteem was so bad she wasn’t able to seek help. Amelia was so numb that she didn’t know how to feel anymore. Also, at this point, the attention was all on the young daughters mom making sure she gets better.
4 months later..
Cop Judy comes into the hospital taking the mom away. You would think by now she learned something, but being in the hospital for a really long time, and not doing anything made her worse.
Amelia was able to seek help as she didn’t have to take care of the mom anymore.
Cop Judy put the mom in jail, and we never heard from her again. All we knew was, she got killed due to karma.
It was so peaceful and calm, not hearing about anything and her death. I found it so funny, there wasn’t even a funeral for the mom, she wasn’t important to anyone else who lived.
Amelia and I were thrilled.
