There was a little boy who was about twelve. His name was Donald. He ended up getting lost from his friends at a sports event. It was a baseball game. It was for a team his friend liked. There were about four or five other friends. Everyone was together and they were enjoying their time together. They talked about making up stories about what they wanted to do in the future.
All of them were silly, and mostly not paying too much attention to Donald. He was only a little bit shy. They were saying to each other who they wanted to win. There were mostly good players. Donald got to talking about his week ahead. He had been thinking up a story to tell them. He came up with a story about being younger, and how his family would forget him sometimes at his friends house. They would always come back though. Donald could tell fairly good stories. He told them that and they seemed like they understood. They were usually all kind of unique stories. Their parents said they would go with their friends to go and play games with them. They would pick on the ones that lost that day. The games they played were tag, catch, Frisbee, and even some learning games; such as Bingo, and also games with questions and answers. They seemed to have fun with the questions being asked. The friends would sometimes switch their questions. The usual ones were about animals or plants. Sometimes, they would talk more about each other's family heritage ; to get to know one another better. Donald was a fan of games. He was always trying to find a new game to play. His friends would recommend some. He liked Life, Go Fish, and Chutes and Ladders usually. His family would try to play games with everyone at least twice a week. Then, his mom would get to win, and she would tell them she had played when she was younger too. His dad could win more at Life. One day his dad told him ways to play better. He always tried and spent time studying it. One day, his dog; Misty girl got outside and she got herself stuck in a bush. Donald ran to help her. She looked distressed and barked.
He said "Hey I'm coming over there to look at you." She jumped as far as she could and finally wriggled loose. His dog Misty was free of the bush. She shook herself and she was finally content. Donald was growing restless so he told his family he wanted to come to another game. They said they would try to take him. He felt that would be fun for him. Donald looked for some sunglasses and his chair to use if there weren't very many seats. He liked having a extra chair. They were getting ready, and they had their socks and shoes where they could reach them easily. Everyone was almost ready. They looked in the mirror and saw they needed to wash their faces before they were going to be ready. They also enjoyed taking photos of themselves after the games. Everyone wanted to see what they could come up with. His brothers and sisters couldn't always make it due to homework or other things. Every so often they would come by. The days were going by fast. Donald got ready again, he felt often like he was in a dream. It wasn't too far into the day, and they were almost ready for another game. The baseball team was from Nebraska and his home team was from Arkansas. It was always a good time. The people who visited always met the team, and enjoyed the company. It wasn't too hard to meet new folks. He was warming up, doing stretches, because the games required a lot of sitting. He left with his family, mom and dad. They were named Ruth, and Andy. Both of them were very kind, and thought a lot of each other. It was funny because usually the team they wanted to win didn't. But they laughed about it and gave high fives. Donald was kind of growing restless once they set down. He wandered off a bit from his family in the stands. He wasn't really tuned in as much as he could've been. He didn't realize that he was lost really. Donald didn't hear any sound much where he was. Only stillness and quietness. It was hard to understand why. His family was frustrated because their team was a little slow at the moment. They were hoping for a better turnout there. Donald didn't realize his team was winning however. He was thinking of going back soon. He had turned too quickly though and there was only brush piles and some medium sized trees there. He hoped he could see something that looked familiar or maybe a car in the parking area. Nothing too familiar though. His parents realized he was still gone. They started looking around. They looked in the parking lot and around the outside area. They couldn't seem to find him though. Donald started to cry a bit. He was upset now. How was he going to sleep. He was getting tired of looking in the dark. They were trying to find a flashlight. There was one in the car they could use. Donald sat down on a large rock that was covered in dry leaves. Why did he have to do that? How could they find him? What would he say? Really he wasn't the type to get lost too easy. They all decided to go around looking again. Finally he could be seen sitting on a rock not too far from them. It was going to be okay. All they had to do was make sure it was him. They waved at Donald, who said "oh hi" Donald was just happy to feel like he wasn't so alone. How could that have happened? It seemed that he would be surprised to learn that his team won. When they told him, Donald was ecstatic. It wouldn't be long and he'd be back home with them. He really did feel alone at the time, couldn't seem to feel secure. He told them next time he would be there. He loved sports and he was always meeting some new friends at the games. Every now and then, he'd also meet a new person playing the game after it. His family didn't always go, but when they did it cheered him up. Donald knew his family was mostly a supportive one.
