It was the date I first arrived to this fancy and enormous house. There lived this large and complicated family. I started to know much about that peculiar family after one year. There were this old man called George and an old lady ,Elisa. I believed they were the eldest in that Tannyson family. The old man loved golf and he played golf a lot. I enjoyed watching him played golf every morning. His daily routine was simple. He woke up early in the morning , washed his face, brushed his teeth, had breakfast and practiced golf with that beautiful silver golf stick. You could say that was one persistent old man. I guessed he was in his late seventies. When he was spending time playing his beloved sport, golf, his wife would get up from bed and made herself something to eat and then, head out to the garden. Their garden was a paradise. Any kind of flowers, trees and plants you could imagine were there with a cool fountain in the center of the garden. It was very wonderful living in that kind of house.
There were Ben Tannyson, John Tannyson, Weasel Tannyson, Lisa Barry and Harry Tannyson who were the old folks' children, all married. There was nothing strange about those people but the one I would like to describe was the only-daughter named Lisa Barry. She had her marriage not so long ago. Her husband was not very rich but honest and hardworking. I believed that was how she fell in love with that dude. Anyway, they had a baby boy who was 4 years old. The baby was so cute and lovely that his grandfather loved this baby very very much. At that moment of time , there were only Lisa and John because the others were busy with their works. Lisa's husband , the boy's father, was on a business trip and was not there when the terrible event I'm about to tell you happened.
The boy's name is called Steve. He loved playing little toys in the living me where I could watch him clearly . Sometimes, he smiled at me but sometimes, he ignored me. I could say he is an intelligent child observing how he could easily solve the puzzles that his mother bought for him. He was also very playful. There were three big windows and two large glass doors in that living room. Steve would throw toys at the glass door to show me how powerful he was. I was pretty impressed and disappointed when I witnessed how he broke that glass window by throwing an object at it. I called his mother and she arrived after the incident but there was nothing she could do so she just cleaned up the mess and phoned her older brother, John to repair the broken the window. John was rather lazy and was recently divorced because he ignored his spouse very much. John pretended he would repair in the evening but that never came true until recent incident.
The window was a big attraction for thieves to come in. I stared at the broken door every day and night and wondered what kind of problems were coming through that door. I was right . The problem did came and it was awful and terrifying.
The old man, Ben , did not care about that stupid door because he just went out through the other door. I was annoyed by his actions. I had been there like only for a year when Lisa moved to that house after she had lived at her husband's house. I tried to give him a piece of my mind but he couldn't hear. Maybe he was too old to hear me. I waited and waited but no one came to repair that broken door. The grandmother got up but as usual , she headed to her beloved garden. The next one to come to my place was the lazy John. What he said was pretty annoying. It was , "This can wait." I couldn't believe it. I tried to warn him but he didn't care. I gave up. I just forget about that and watched the little Steve play with his toys.
It was so nice watching Steve play near me. He would have his lunch when his mum called him and came back here to me. That day, he played so hard that he fell asleep while playing on the carpet in front of me. I loved the way he slept. He was cute and innocent. When Lisa came to feed him, she also saw what I was seeing and leave the living room. I was looking after him when the night falls . It was also the time when this terrible thing happened.
Black out! Everything went dark. Lisa was on her phone and couldn't run into the living room to take her child so I continued to watch Steve. Later, Ben arrived with his favorite club in his hand. I think he sighed. As he turned back to go into his bedroom, he heard something coming in from the broken door. I heard it too but it was too dark for us to see what it was. It was really a thief!
The person was wearing a winter hat so he sure looked like a thief. I definitely would say it was a thief. The old man saw him lifting the baby up so he knew that the thief was going to kidnap the baby. I tried to shout and help too but there was nothing I could do. I was on the wall where they couldn't notice me in the dark. I envied the old man's ability to help the child but I hate how he destroyed me accidentally.
The old man was pretty clumsy already in his age but he threw the club at the thief . I thought the old man went crazy. The baby was in the thief's hand. Fortunately, the club missed the thief head and headed towards me. As I mentioned before, I couldn't move , let alone defending the danger. The light came back on after that. Lisa was terribly shock by the sound the golf club hit my face. She ran into the living room and found John with her child.
John came back home after he went out and bought a substitute door to repair the damage Steve costed. The door was on its way with the repairer but it took John a long time to get that particular door that would fit nicely to the old one . That's why he came back late. That's what I knew afterwards.
John whispered, " Dad! What the hell were you thinking?"
Lisa gasped, " Oh my god! Look at what you've done!"
Then , Elisa also joined the crowd and said , " Ben!! What the heck?"
At least, I could have more air from the damage I got but there was no way I could seek a return to normality. There were glass pieces on the carpet with the club.
John gave Lisa her child and grabbed me from my neck and put me in his car. He said, " I will repair this one tomorrow. I know how much you love this one, sis." I was important for Lisa because I represents an unforgettable memory of her life.I could imagine how disappointed the old man would be for mistaking his own son and tried to kill him. It was lucky there was no crime because it would be woeful to go to jail at such age.
And it was the first time that I had left that particular room since I arrived that house one year ago. Dear readers, please guess ,what am I?
